after dinner Preston offered to help Kayla with the dishes so that their mom could get back to the case she was working. Kay? what was up with you at dinner? what do you mean? when mom mentioned Kane you almost choked. is something wrong? Kayla could tell that he was actually concerned for her. well, it's werid and you will probably think i'm crazy but something is different about him. he doesn't have that fun, carefree look in his eyes. it's like... something is burdening him now. like he has done something he can never undo or something. like what? well... start the fire. Preston was shocked. Kane had always been so nice, but when he thought about it he could see the reasoning. why do you think that? well.... after i saw him again and started thinking this i got freaked out and went upstairs. i laid on my and fell asleep and had this realy realisticc dream where it showed me what could have happened if it was Kane who set our house on fire. Kayla went on to describe what happened in her dream. in the end Preston just looked at her and walked upstairs.

That night even tho he didnt want to go to sleep he tried..once he feel asleep just what he feared happened...he had that nightmare..the one where he was a little kid how he was so much like his dad and how he would always try to do what he dreamed..up untill that day when his dad had a dream a dream and when he tried to follow it it got him killed...the picture of his dad's massacured body played over and over in his head that night...

Kayla knew that Preston thought she was crazy so she just let him stay in his room all night. she just read all night long. she had finshed Inkworld and the book the boys had gotten and started the first book of the series Remus and Marienara had gotten her. wait a second, where's Princey? MOM! HAVE YOU SEEN PRINCEY?!? NO HONEY I THOUGHT HE WAS OUTSIDE Kayla went outside and searched her back yard for him. PRINCEY? PRINCEY?!? WHERE ARE YOU?

Kayla began to look all over the neighborhood and couldnt find him. she was worried and decided to go door to door asking if anyone had seen him. she was out for half an hour looking and asking people, no one had seen him. she got up to John's house and knocked on his door.

"HUH!" John was sorta shocked from the sudden banging at the door..he got up and looked throgh the peep hole..seeing it was Kayla he opened the door.."uhh..hey kayla..what brings you here?"

i was wondering if you've seen my cat Princey? i haven't seen him since this morning and thought he might have been let out and wondered throughout the neighborhood.

the two friends were searching the whole neighborhood and they had been out for a while and it was pretty dark out. *sigh* it's hopeless! we'll never find him when it's this dark out.
