After a few hours of gathering the parts that had been replaced, cracking them open and salvaging material, Bob heard Natalia speak up. He looked over to her and replied, " hmm? AI core? um......hmmm...." after thinking about it for a few moments..lets see....AI core.....AI core.....yea...didnt I have one of those that uncle proggrammed instead of a hyperspace nav computer? I think so....

As the moments tick by, Bob slowly nods, " yea, my uncle proggrammed one of those dealies because we couldnt salvage the nav computer. downside is that it can only go from this planet to wherever we had landed, but he said it could update itself if it could connect to something called the 'holonet'....that reminds me....he wanted me to bring him back a transmitter strong enough for him to get in touch with his old flunkies...something about wanting to show the galaxy that one of that some hackers don't die when they dissapear for 15 years..."

"That wont be difficult and if you like I can transfer the program to a new core." Natalia said as she pried the last burned chip in her section free. With a smile she replaced it then hooked a hand held diagnostic into the system. It read 30% green which was a little more then Natalia expected but it didn't worry her. Given the way Bobs ship was set up she wasn't relying on standard expectations.

After a few more moments of thought, Bob replied, " no thanks, I think he said something about the system exploding if it were tampered with like that, or if someone tried to load it up without the password....anywho...back to work..."

Bob went back into his silent salvaging, finishing with it quickly before beggining his construction of a mental interface helm. hmm, this shouldn't take too long....got most of the parts I need from salvage, it will just be a pain to proggram and adjust.....then again, for that part I'll need Natalia to cooperate, since it's going to be one for her.

"Right, gottcha." Natalia said then got back to work without further comment, she just accepted the weird now when it came to Bob and anything that had to do with him. There wasn't much choice really so long as she wanted to keep her sanity.
"I'll install a holonet receiver latter then once I get done with cleaning the next section out." She added after a moment, she'd bought one so it was just a matter of finding a functioning area to install it in. Assuming ofcourse that doing so would not release a plague of flying pigmy hippopotamus to wreak havoc across the city.

Perking up, Bob stopped what he was working on and set down his project. He got up and moved over to the ship, hopping in deftly and pulling off a wall panel. After doing this, he began pulling wires out of thier connectors seemingly at random, then rearranging certain ones and leaving others dangling. Following a few minutes of this, he spoke up and said, " there ya go, that should give ya the power feeds and such that you need for it, I'll go work and adjusting the wall panel to fit the emitter..."

After saying this, Bob looked at the wall panel, the area he had rearranged, and then over to Natalia, " where is that thingy anyway?"

"Third box on the top right marked Telna co. products." Natalia replied with out stopping her work. Bob could install it if he wanted to and would probably have less trouble doing so then she likely would given his understanding of the ships construction.

Nodding, Bob replied, " thanks" before moving over to the aforementioned box and opening it up. after fishing around inside he retrieved the thing marked 'holonet reciever' and compared it in size to the wall panel. After going back into the ship, and making a few more comparisons of the wall panel and wiring, Bob took out his cutting tool. While leaving the cutter next to him, he took the wiring and hooked in the holo emmitter, taking only a few moments to do so due to his intimate knowledge of the ship. next, he took the wall panel and a pencil. using the pencil, he outlined where the emitter would be, and drew a precise area around that. Next, with his cutter, he took his time and cut the piece out. After this he popped the wall panel back into place, which left the holo emmiter sticking out just enough to be tinkered with, but not enough to interfere with motion. (note, holo emitter is in a higher up wall panel, which means, at worst, you can bump your head on it.)

Satisfied with his work, Bob brushed his hands together a bit, pocketed the wall panel cut out, and set his cutter back on his belt. All this before hopping out of the ship and going back to his creation of the mental interface helm.....

After a few hours of work, Bob finished the helm, leaving the long process of personalized proggramming to be done with Natalia.

Natalia smiled as she scraped the last bit of melted wire off of the ships durasteel platting and replaced the damaged input before reconnecting the new wire. She was finished, finally, and could take a break before moving on to the next phase of the project. Carefully she backed out of the access hatch and made a beeline for the food and water she had brought.
"Hey Bob, are you hungry?" She asked before unscrewing the top of a bottle.

Blinking out of his working mindset, Bob looked over to Natalia and nodded, " food and water sounds good now that you mention it....oh, for the mental interface we're going to need a few hours of personalization proggramming so that it can work with ya....otherwise it will probably misinterpret signals and such..."

Natalia looked at bob curiously for a moment then shrugged.
"Alright, that shouldn't be a problem." Until Natalia decided to start taking commissions again she had nothing but free time.

With a smile, Bob carried the strange combination of open wires and fire-hazard pieces and plopped it onto Natalia's head. He adjusted the fit before taking the longest wire and hooking it into his datapad. From there, he launches a proggram, the display still in encrypted form. " now then....just dont think of explosions, and your hair won't catch fire...."

"Did it ever occur to you that if you spent a little more time and used standardized parts that things like that wouldn't be a problem?" Natalia said, fix her mind on anything and everything that would not result in her hair catching fire. She wasn't vain but risking third degree burns on her scalp was not her idea of a good time.

Bob gave Natalia a light punch on the shoulder, " only kidding of course. now then...."

On the Datapad, Bob pulls up a screen with a list (in Basic) of commands, placing it in front of Natalia, he says, " now then, first read through the list, pausing a few moments after each word, then read the list aloud, again pausing between words. then hit the button over here, and think one of the words on the list in a forceful manner, er...concentrate on the word, if the wrong word lights up, hit this button and try again."

"Oookay..."Natalia looked at Bob curiously then tried it out. She pushed the button after fallowing the other steps and to her amusement the correct word light up. "Engage" became highlighted just as she had intended.
"Do I just keep at this or is there another step now?" She asked, smiling slightly.
