Nemesis' reaction to John's little outburst was... charming, at best. He cracked a little smirk, as to not offend the shard. After all, what was fighting for life and limb in a room full of mutilated corpses without a little humor? When Demyx came over, John became complacent in the nobody's grasp almost to say, "Please, someone get this madman off me." He was immediately grateful when they were separated by a gust of wind. He turned to Garuda, and gave a quick nod of thanks.
Hearing Amy's little Moonlight Sonata sort of broke his focus. It was nice to hear a melody from home and a break from the wild piano solo that only spelled, "Doom and Danger ahead!"
"Ya know... for being named 'Nemesis', you're actually rather helpful." John chimed in.

Riku tried to keep track of the drama within Dawn, but was nonetheless pleased that she had come to her senses. He showed little response, however, instead focusing on Nemesis' response.
"That certainly is the perception, isn't it," Kyle said after John's remark, seemingly unfazed--or at the very least unimpressed--with Nemesis' forthcoming answer. Perception had been so important before, he found it unlikely it would suddenly stop with the death of one shard. He strummed his fingers on the throne's armrest some more, looking with boredom at the apparently helpful fragment. "And convenient, too. We've only just gotten the party back together, and now we're told that in order to progress we must split up again? Color me convinced."
He was not convinced.

Dawn didn't humor Nemesis with a response on her state of mind. Only that she had to see it to the end. She simply looked at him, expression somewhat tired, as he answered her.
"And what shards are those?" she asked again, with the same weak voice, "What do they represent? Better yet, what part of Louis are you?"

"Victim, Traitor, Prisoner, and Nightmare," Nemesis answered Dawn while simultaneously making a small heart between his fingers towards John and rolling his eyes, "Those are the 4 that remain. I... am a great number of things. You could say I'm not even a part of Louis. You could say I'm a key part of what makes him who he is. Or, you could say I'm nothing at all- just a meaningless fragment, like many others who exist as mere pieces of themselves, wandering aimlessly lacking purpose or meaning behind their dark, festering lives lashing out at any and all who cross their paths to feel any inkling of purpose or understanding garnered amidst the only real thing they know. Or, I could be the manifestation of Louis' flamboyant inner ponies. Your pick."
Nemesis stared at Kyle, eyes locked on the boy as though breaking eye contact meant life or death, "Regardless of who or what I am, I can offer you aid. My name may be ominous but our goals align and I am willing to aid you. Do you wish to accept that aid, or not? Pick your fate."

Bobbi snarled and dismissed Taulmaril, knowing she could have her weapon back in less than a heartbeat if necessary. She turned to Dawn and smiled tightly, though it was meant to be reassuring. She was glad Dawn was back instead of Garuda, but her face wasn’t cooperating with that. It was still stuck in angry mode, largely because she was still seething. When she turned back to Nemesis, she balled her hands into fists and took one deliberate, angry stride forward.
"Why?" she asked sharply. "Why should we trust you? You say our end goals are the same, but I’ve heard the same garbage before, and dealt with the resulting backstab. What do you get out of helping us?"
Demyx had gone tumbling head-over-a** from Garuda’s gust of wind, landing several feet away on his back, though his feet were up above his head and his rump in the air. Slowly, his back end flopped onto the ground, and he stayed there for a bit. Anyone who cared to look would see a petulant frown on his face.

Dawn only looked over at Nemesis as he answered her questions, while still trying to get John's attention. She chewed on her lip, as if trying to make up her mind if she should believe him or not.
~'You know something is bothering me. We are in his heart. Yet there is no sign of his summon, Mateus.'~
~'You're right....'~
"One more thing," Dawn asked, "It is bothering Garuda actually. Where is Mateus? I assume he is in here somewhere."

All negatives. Justice was once negative. Liar was flowing with darkness. Hmm.
Nemesis held eye contact with him as if it meant life or death; Kyle returned the favor as if it were the only thing interesting in the room, and even then only just enough to keep him awake.
However, when the fragment answered Bobbi, Kyle's eyes lit, stars in the black night, bonfires under a new moon. His mouth curled like the slowly waxing crescent that came after, and the giggle that bubbled to the surface of his mouth didn't exactly sound like it came from any place natural. It drew the gaze of at least the sorceress, though maybe even others.
"Survival?" he repeated, completely entertained by the notion, not particularly caring about Dawn's question. He never looked away from Nemesis, even if the latter had. "You say that like you believe it."

Nemesis opened his mouth to reply to Dawn, but halted mid syllable when Kyle began to giggle.
"I do," Nemesis glared at Kyle, his blatant disregard and passive aggression was not lost on Nemesis, no, it was as clear as day and familiar as the voice of a sibling, "Unless you plan on acting against that fact. If I join forces with you, we live, if I attack you, or you choose to attack me... we all suffer. There are far greater demons in this place than the two of us..." Nemesis slid his hands into his jacket pockets and leaned back, his composure mildly irritated, yet showed little sign of aggression. Instead, he simply fiddled with the object in his pocket and waited for their answer.

[[ Joe : Louis' Heart : Throne Room ]] Joe suppressed a laugh. So the corrupted parts liked each other about as much as he liked them? That was...surprisingly good news. In theory anyway. A divided front was easier to conquer after all. The information that followed ensured that he remained skeptical however. There were still four more of these things they had to take down? They had to split up or else? This entire thing reeked of a set up. Even if the part of Louis' heart that represented lies was a smoldering crystal, he was still by all accounts a duplicitous b*****d and not to be trusted. It wouldn't surprise Joe at all if even the most truthful parts of the arcanist's heart spun little scheming webs. Still, this fop loved to talk, so he might as well indulge him and hopefully score some intelligence.
"Greater Demons? Do tell. If we're going to be facing these things I'd like to know exactly what we're up against." Joe began "And while on the subject, what can you tell us about those four shards propping this mess of a reality up. I've got that their weaker then the whole and that they have powers over their emotional domain, but what else is there?"

"I'd give it a go and say 'Traitor' and 'Nightmare' aren't the funnest demons out there." John stated, turning his head toward Joe. "Though, in splitting up, it'll be a challenge regardless, so I vote we keep this ******** alive, and split up into groups as we see fit."
He looked at Nemesis, still unsure of his full intentions, and said, "We're gonna need all the help we can get, and if he stabs us in the back, then he just pissed off 10 people that will hunt him down."
John's gaze on Nemesis stayed stiff and solemn. "You are the only one who knows anything about these other four... what are their traits..."
He was careful not to ask how they should divide themselves, as it could lead to Nemesis easily picking them off if he was so inclined to do so.

"Maybe, but you're still on the list, kiddo," Kyle replied, still chuckling. Oh, was that frustration? Good.
Joe asked his questions next, John tacked on, and Dawn still had her question left unanswered. All the same, Kyle rolled his eyes, lounging and looking off toward one of the dilapidated pillars.
"Split into groups? Why bother," Kyle said, holding one hand up and gazing at the shard, Liar's only remaining proof of existence, that he held tightly between his index finger and thumb; the sharp points pressed into his gloves almost enough to pierce them and into his skin. "The necessary people go in, the rest of us remain. They do the job and come back, and we proceed to the next tower. It's not as if they go linearly from here to the finish--otherwise we'd all have to go along, and he just said that wasn't possible."
He side-eyed Nemesis, a small, prescient smirk creeping upon his face. "Unless there's yet more convenient issues preventing that? Though, please, Dawn's first, she's been waiting."

The male had nothing to add to the conversation. He was ready to leave, honestly. Thought he was pretty sure he'd alienate a few people if he tore open a hole in the heart just to leave, considering everyone was still in the mind to save this one person that, really, they never even knew proper.
And all the little parts of him they were getting to know were either annoying, cryptic, or a total asshat.
Or all three, really.
So he just remained quiet, staring off 'into the distance'. Meaning he pretty much unfocused his eyes and just kept focusing his strength. Because staring at all the 'bodies' didn't appease him. In fact, it made him slightly uneasy. But he was able to squash down that unease with irritation and anger, thankfully.
Not so thankfully, though, his thoughts kept wandering to two words over and over ******** Louis.

Kyla’s glazed expression slid about the room taking in the countless corpses, then went to Nemesis. Yay- about as friendly as someone named “Antagonist” or “ Enemy.” Just more poetic perhaps. Still, the reunion with her former opponent from Halloween town was short lived.
Much to Axels relief, one look at her and he knew she’d be a real pain in the a**.
Reading a book that tickled her fancy the artist once again just- said- nothing.
When the book reading shard then went into a frenzy of response Axel’s brow raised, Admirer? yah – maybe in the way someone would become obsessed to the point they’d lovingly plan how to rip your heart out and put it in a glass case. That kind of admirer.
He jutted chakram at him just sputtering- “ok…’he’s weird. Can someone bring back Liar. At least we knew he was full of s**t.”
She listened as they spoke, back and forth, and Riku struggled to pry Dawn from the mire Liar submerged her in. Kyla finished casting Ward by now on the entire party, and began wondering what next she could do preemptively. What was odd about this guy was his very helpful conversation… the last thing she imagined someone with the name of Nemesis to do would be to explain how to save what was left of Louis.
~ Oh and of COURSE we need to split up!!~ she heard carbuncle mutter. ~ Fat chance~…right?...~
When John made his comment about this shards odd behavior the artist finally broke her silence- well partially. Her voice appeared over the charms and projected towards theother people who could hear it.
'Nemesis…' she played with the word a little... thinking it over. 'Source of ruin… or harm. An opponent that cannot be beaten, or defeated. However… it also means ones that inflicts retribution, or vengeance. The word comes from the Greek goddess of giving people what they deserve… either revenge or retribution. She is also the Balance of Luck. She is represented holding a scale… where every mortal is weighed and distributed their portion of luck…'
If they’ve been sharing pretty crappy luck all this time, it could stand to reason Nemisis was genuinely given them an olive branch because they were sucking so badly.
' Also. Am I correct ot asume when he means by 'support' he is not talking just about weight. For if he is..I think I can solve that.' all of this was delivered with that odd monotone she was previously known for, it was hollow, reciting the data like she was passing off as a nobody who dropped the facade. Kyla didn't focus on anyone in particular except Nemisis.

"No, there are no convenient issues. The only thing I'd advise is to keep in mind we're not exactly on a pleasure cruise. The longer you take, the more land Louis manages to devour in his spell... meaning more victims trapped in this hell hole and a far more unstable heart to contend with."
Nemesis turned his gaze to Dawn then, sighing as he remembered she'd brought up Mateus, "Mateus, is preoccupied. In enacting his spell, Louis sealed Mateus in the box with everything else. From there, Mateus is being forced to act as a medium between the heart of Narnia's magic and Louis' core."
Still there were more questions and Nemesis sighed deeper, switching to John's question, which in turn tied in with Joe's, "The four that remain, as I stated are Victim, Nightmare, Traitor, and Prisoner. Each are embodiment of Louis' deepest conflicts, fears, complexes, and insecurities. What exactly they will do, I couldn't tell you exactly as they are likely to respond differently to each of you."
"Please, make up your mind soon. I'd rather not wait too long and risk being crushed if Louis' heart collapses before you make a decision and kills you, all the innocents of Narnia that fell victim to this spell, and myself."
