Brigadier General Riku Murakuma 1st Army Brigade CO Army High command, CentCOM Durem City 0140 Hours DST Delta Hades Gamma
Riku stormed back to his office, pulling a set of keys from his pocket. A small brass key came to his hand, and he opened a large filing cabinet with it before removing a large red folder. Inside was a set of files regarding such emergencies as this. He didn't bother pulling the actual file out, instead simply taking the whole folder with him. He also grabbed a small box out of his desk, opened it, and removed several moon clips of .45 Colt ammunition, which he shoved into his pockets. He then left his office and made his way back to the central command room.
The room was significantly brighter now. Several large lanterns had been set up around a table, where the higher-ranking Officers were standing by. All of them were lower in rank than him- the Generals had gone home already. A few NCOs, mostly adjutants to the Officers, were also standing by. Riku set the folder down, and opened it, pulling out a bundle of clipped papers and laying them out on the table.
"In case it wasn't obvious, we've been hit by an electromagnetic pulse weapon. Judging by the fact that it's not bright as day outside, it's safe to assume it's a non-nuclear. However, this means all communications are cut off, which means we have no idea what's going on outside. Our contingency plan is fairly straight-forward; re-establishing communication is our top priority. So here's the plan." He pulled a map out of the folder, and opened it on the table. "Red Rock's about 250 miles outside of Durem. It should be unaffected, and all Army personnel have orders to go there in the event of such an attack. I want two Officers to go out to the GAU and AAU bases, and ensure they're moving out."
"Sir, won't vehicles be dead?"
"Anything that uses fuel injection or electronic ignition is dead in the water. Humvees and Deuces will still be operational, and Fort Durem has a large surplus of them. However, our tanks, APCs and aircraft are all dead. There should be a few Humvees down in the garage. I want you two," he pointed to two Lieutenants as he said this, "to head over to those bases. Make sure all weapons, ammo, artillery and biowarfare gear is being loaded up. Ensure they bring TOW launchers with them; the guidance systems and missiles will be worthless, but the launchers will be usable."
"I also need a Comms Officer to run out to these coordinates." He circled a location on the map. "There's an old Army depot there. It's well outside the city, so it should be operational still. Jump on the radio if it's working, and try to get a hold of someone. Additionally, I need someone to gather up any spare parts and begin repairs on our radios here."
"And finally, I need someone to go around and wake up the Generals. Tell them the situation, and tell them to get their asses here if possible. If they refuse, tell them I will personally come down there and drag their asses here if need be."
"Now get to it."

HALF OF THE PEOPLE IN THE UGMF POST LIKE THIS ON A REGULAR BASIS and it makes me feel inadequate crying
