Tsukasa Elric I wish I had a pink box so that I could sell it. sweatdrop I got a trunk and tried to sell it; I put it at the lowest price on the vend, figuring that might make it sell easily enough. sweatdrop However, the moment I put it up on the Vend, people came crawling out of the woodworks to throw trunks up for half that price. So I still have a trunk. I hate the trunk.

I'll have to make do with eating either my desk or my arm for now.

Musuu A lot of bands that recently broke up were inspired from out 80's -- XJapan and Malice Mizer.
Japan has a lot, too. It's not just j-pop, j-rock, and j-rap.
If I mistake Good Charlotte for New Found Glory, and Blink 182 for Simple Plan -- there's something wrong. If I mistake GWAR for ICP or Slipknot, something's wrong. Saying my ears don't work? I'm sorry I don't listen to their entire discoraphy of work to pick out something that's "unique" about them, when more than likely, there isn't. Besides... if I hate their s**t on the radio, why would I look for something else, finding something just like it?
... Ok about the Skacore. Good for you I guess.
I don't like most American music. Boohoo. Of course, being opinionated, I'm going to say what I want about it. I also don't force my views on anyone. My boyfriend listens to APC, Slipknot, ICP and all that bullshit. Do I tell him not to listen to it because I don't like it? No. I also have given a try to all his new music... I just listened to El Nino yesterday. Guess what it sounded just like? All American Rejects, or Fall Out Boy. Gross. I didn't like it. I just told him I didn't like it, and that was that?
Wow, that's a big assumption, isn't it? If I don't like something, people know it, and I sure do explain my own reasons. I'm not a Born Again Christian that forces things on others. If I were, I would have taken my friend's CDs away a long a** time ago.
Indie music? Give examples.
Edit: By the way, one reason I don't usually like American music -- I prefer the Japanese language to the English. This would be an important factor to my opinions :] Dude, you're looking at majorly main-stream s**t. I listen to only American music (probably because I understand English...) and even I can't tell the difference between some of those shitty punk groups. I hate radio s**t. I hate a lot of main stream s**t. But don't rag on all the smaller bands out there. There are so many varieties out there. Browse through purevolume.com. There are tons of groups there. You know...you're really just pointing out (in my opinion) a lot of s**t groups. Then again, those all fall under the same general genre of music that I don't happen to like. What you've listed is basically punk or s**t rock. There's more American music than just those groups. Of course, it seems to me as if you aren't open to listening to anything. That's fine, but then don't go around saying they're all the same. As a person who listens to American modern rock/alternative in all the free time that I have, I have to say, there are plenty of good groups. It's taken time to find some, but each to their ******** own. And I'm not going to say just because you don't like what I like makes you lame, closed-minded, or whatever. You like whatever the hell you ******** like. [edit] and it's not anyone's place to say which genre is better than another or what country's music is better than another. It's purely SUBJECTIVE. You can't have a logical point to argue.

Obviously, we're defined in America as our mainstream. Mainstream is what is OUT there, in the open. It's loudest.
I do browse through purevolume.com, actually. I don't like any of it.
I know I'm pointing out s**t groups. And I've listened to a lot of stuff, actually. I don't like it. Most of it's s**t to me.
That's what everyone thinks. I honestly can say I do try s**t. They're all the same to me. Sorry. And yeah they're good to you because you like it.
I wish you guys would stop trying to hound my a** because I do have different tastes than you guys. Zomg SORRY I like to listen to something that's different than whiney a** boys and girls. That's all I hear when I browse through some American music, or talk with friends about music. I'm SORRY that generally American s**t sounds the same to me.

-is lumping all of this into one post so as to save time domokun - Musuu I'll check out Jet right now. Foo Fighters are gross neutral I'm not debating whether a band is gross or not, but if they sound the same as other bands or not. Are you going to tell me Foo Fighters sounds the same as Good Charolette, or Slipknot, or Simple Plan? Quote: I like the way Japanese music sounds. Japanese "style" in certain genres + Japanese language = yay for me. I also do not exlude American music as a whole -- otherwise I would have tossed out my POD CD, and my Queen Of The Damned soundtrack. Ok, but just because you like the way it sounds doesn't give you the right to say American music sound the same. Which is what you've been saying. Musuu Also I would like to add one thing: If there are "so many genres" of music in America -- how come when I go into a CD store warehouse, all I see is: Pop, Rock, Country, Rap and Classical? Musuu, you should know for a fact that there are many genres in American music, just because it's not in a CD store warehouse does not mean it doesn't exist. You're telling me that blues, jazz, ska, punk, hip-hop don't exist because they're not in a CD music store? Quote: Edit: I've heard Jet's "Are You Gunna Be My Girl" before. It's not painful to listen to... but it isn't that great. Again, I don't care if it's great or not. But does it sound the same as other songs? Musuu I know I'm pointing out s**t groups. And I've listened to a lot of stuff, actually. I don't like it. Most of it's s**t to me. That's what everyone thinks. I honestly can say I do try s**t. They're all the same to me. Sorry. I honestly don't see how you can justify that. Quote: I wish you guys would stop trying to hound my a** because I do have different tastes than you guys. Zomg SORRY I like to listen to something that's different than whiney a** boys and girls. That's all I hear when I browse through some American music, or talk with friends about music. I'm SORRY that generally American s**t sounds the same to me. I don't care if you have different tastes or not, to each their own, but don't go saying that it is all the same. Are you trying to tell me Jimi Hendrix was a whiney a** boy? That Janis Joplin was a whiney a** girl? Are you saying that TuPac is the same as 50 Cent? That Jet is the same as My Chemical Romance? That Incubus is the same as Foo Fighters? That The Rolling Stones are the same as Led Zeppelin? That Iggy and the Stooges are the same as The Clash? Honestly Musuu, if you say you've dug deep into music, then you cannot say that American music sounds the same, you just can't do it. Again, I don't give a ******** if you like American music or not. I just get irked when people say it's all the same thing, I'll even defend rap is people say it's all the same s**t, and I don't like it. Want to know why? Because it isn't all the same s**t.

You know you're the one who pretty much brought it up and insulted a good amount of us here just because of what we listen to. At least we don't attack what you like. That's pretty ******** immature. Not all American music is "whiney a** boys and girls" so don't make that ******** inane assumption. If you think there's no talent in the music, fine, but I think you're being pretty damn closed-minded about the entire thing. You're coming across as a ******** elitist. Or rather...a ******** music elitist. I agree with Stream on that one.
