Veroen chewed on the cigar in his mouth as he took in everything that Alexz was telling him about the Nightwatch. Back when he was a Deathdealer, he might have agreed with these lunatics, but after he had the relationship he had with Meredith, who was a Lycan, his views had differed.
When she said the name of Lord Kensington, it rang a bell to him. He recalled crossing paths with him on a few different occasions.
"Hmmm..." He grumbled again. It would seem that investigating this group, called the Nightwatch, would be a good place to start.
"So our next step is to investigate these wack-jobs then." He stated casually.
"Where can they be found?"

"I wish I could tell you," she took another drag before continuing, "They definitely have a base somewhere in the city, but it's pretty well hidden. And it's not like I can just ask...though...maybe..."
Alexz paused for a moment to consider their options. Considering she knew Lord Kensington on a rather intimate level, it wouldn't be difficult to directly speak with him, possibly faking an interest in the Nightwatch group to infiltrate its ranks. However, the more she considered it, the clearer it became that he would be able to call her bluff in an instant and she wouldn't manipulate his mind to prevent that discovery. If only he hadn't caught himself up in the whole mess...
She shook her head to rid herself of the thought, "It wouldn't work. There has to be another way. Rogue? Any ideas?" she asked, turning her head to look her way.

Felicia cautiously turned her gaze to the new strange company, and just as carefully gave him a once over. He was attractive. He was complimentary. He had a lot on his mind... He was on watch.
"I just blew into town, if you can believe that," she breathed as she faced forward again to take a small, thoughtful drink. "I've been gone long enough to burn every bridge I ever knew."
She turned slightly to face him again, peeking through her hair. While she distrusted this man, she was intrigued. Interaction was something she'd missed. Felicia took a slow drag off the dwindling Newport in her fingers and allowed the smoke to filter through the hair in her face.
"What's a guy like you doing alone in a night club talking to a girl like me?"Xander Shawn Xander walked into Las Noches. He had felt something had gone very wrong tonight through his connection to his twin sister, Xandra. He had spent time recollecting himself after helping in the capture of Meredith and Ceon with his older sister, and vampire elder, Kaei.
He made his way to the bar and ordered a glass of bourbon. In standing beside a woman who was seemingly alone, he smiled nonchalantly and spoke while running a hand through his midnight hair, green eyes almost glowing in the darkness of the club...a noted trait of the D'Ancanto family. "So what is a beautiful woman like yourself doing all alone on a night like tonight?" He was worried about Xandra, but he was waiting for Rogue's cue, and as of late, there was no word. He looked into Felicia's eyes wondering if he had ever seen her before.

Veroen contemplated the possible location of a base that the Nightwatch would have. He remembered the city well, but not enough to know of a possible location for the Nightwatch base. As Alexz paused, so did Veroen. He knew that without any information, they were helpless. A Recon operation was in order, Veroen style.
Veroen took one last drag off his cigar as Alexz turned to Rogue and asked what her ideas were. As he exhaled, he dropped the cigar, and it fell to the ground with a soft clump. He then stepped on it with his leather combat boots, and as it went out, it then disappeared in a flash of Void energy, leaving the floor where it had landed, spotless. Veroen may have been a ruthless assassin, but he still had manners.
Turning to the two of them, he spoke before Rogue could answer.
"We need information on this groups whereabouts. At the moment we are at a disadvantage because of our lack of information." He paused for a moment, lifting his arm and bending his elbow so that his hand was pointed straight up to the ceiling. "...That needs to change." As soon as he had finished, he snapped his fingers, and instantly his shadow grew behind him, and split into three different shadows at different angles behind him. Each shadow mirrored Veroen's likeness, but then changed shape slightly, manifesting into physical forms. After what was a fraction of a second, three men were standing behind Veroen. These were souls of dead men, whom Veroen had killed during his time away from New York, and they were slaves to the Void. They were given physical bodies, but bodies created from the power of the Void, much like Veroen's artificial eye.
They stood there silently, with discipline, waiting for Veroen's orders without a movement. Each of them wore a mask that looked like a traditional animal of the chinese zodiac. The one on Veroens left wore a mask that looked like the face of a rat, the one in the middle wore a mask with the face of serpent, and the one on the right wore a mask with the face of an Ox. That was the only difference between them, however, for all three of them were garbed in the same black leather armor that clung to their bodies. They were each armed with a pistol at their sides, pockets with magazines of both Silver Nitrate ammunition and UV ammunition on their chests, a silver sword not so different than Veroens on their back, and a multitude of silver daggers in sheathes strapped to their leg, their arm, and their side. They were well prepared for any encounter with rogue Lycans, and more importantly, insane Vampires.
Veroen smiled with the corner of his mouth at Rogue and Alexz. This was one of many tricks he had learned during his absence, something that Alasdair and Kyrre were capable of, though Veroen was never told how to accomplish such a thing. He learned it through his growing connection with the Void while in China, along with several other new tricks that would yet be revealed.
He turned to the three Void assassins after a moment, and barked an order.
"Scan the city for any signs of this Nightwatch organization. If you come by one of them, bring them to me... Alive. Otherwise, stay covert, and report to me regularly."
The three of them nodded without a word, and disappeared immediately in a flash of shadow that quickly dissolved into the air.
Veroen turned back to Alexz and Rogue, and pulled out a small black earpiece out of the inside pocket of his leather coat, and placed it in his ear so that himself and the three Void assassins were in constant contact should they have to report something, or if Veroen decided to give new orders.
After he placed the earpiece in his ear, he smiled at the two of them. "Time is precious when it comes to situations like this. Might as well not waste it while we discuss our next move." He made his way back to the wall he had been leaning on earlier, and leaned on it again with his arms crossed. "Now, where were we?"

Rogue contemplated, and took another drag on her cigarette as Veroen stepped in, conjuring the void to create the masked men.
She had seen this done only once before in Tibet a little over two hundred years ago. Then, it had unnerved her...and even now, it was unsettling to see demonstrations of such power. She felt the place where the diamond had been and something in her ached. The void ebbed in her mind, and seemingly taunted her.... This power is within you....but all you are weakness and fear...a coward among gods... She put her hand to her head and closed her eyes, trying to quiet the words running through her like acid.
She thought back to the little bit she knew about the Nightwatch, and how Lord Kensington had...changed so much through his contact with this...Founder. "It didn't quite occur to me that the Nightwatch would still be here...their activities seemed to have stopped. I figured the hunters had gotten to them...and this, being an explosion done by lycan hands..."
She took a drag. "I wouldn't have risked such a 'chat' with two leadership personalities in the catacombs, if I had suspected it was this...group. It seemed Lord Kensington was under some sort of thrall to the Founder...the Founder is a powerful psychic, but I've yet to see his face. They believe we are a disgrace to the superiority that is vampirism, and based on any leniency we've shown...and tolerance, we should be destroyed..."

Xander smiled a toothy grin. "Looking for trouble, I suppose." He took a drink from the glass the bartender had given him. The bartender also didn't ask for money. He was recognized by the staff as Rogue's brother. The place was run under D'Ancanto money, after all.

|| OOC: Hope the pic doesn't bug anyone. These posts look so bare with just text so I thought I'd add a pic to it. I'm such a girl. >.> lol ||
As if her seraphic radiance that practically seeped from her pores wasn't enough to draw attention to herself, her formal attire blatantly stated she was not a typical bar hopper. She had a white blouse accompanied by a light blue blazer that essentially matched her ice blue eyes. Her pants were also business-like, gray with a silver linked belt all of which accompanied by a pair of classy white open toed kitten heels. Considering the fact she would have been roughly 5'4'' without the heels on, it was likely they were being worn for formalities as opposed to being used to increase her height.
The reaction from some of the bar-goers (particularly the ones who had stopped in their tracks to stare at her like a deer caught in the headlights) annoyed her. In response to their stares she merely sighed as though this happened to her on a regular basis. Fact of the matter was, it did happen on a regular basis. It never seemed to make a difference whether she dressed to conform or not, no matter how she dressed she always yielded the same results. Most humans just seemed as though they were magnetically attracted to her as if her presence forced their heads to turn toward her by law of nature. It was for that reason Katarina had always had a hard time blending in pretty much no matter what she did.
It also happened to be the reason why she was adorned in attire that was clearly considered overdressed for the bar. Even if she had slipped a cocktail dress that left her breasts half hanging out of it for the sake of fitting in, she still would have yielded the exact same results she was this very moment. Lucien could personally testify to the bizarre phenomenon. Of course, it likely didn't help their cause that he was virtually always dressed as a cowboy.
The pair, with their styles contrasting vastly together, drew attention to themselves like magnets with their refusal to conform. Lucien choosing to stick to his old Western ways just as Katarina chose to cling to her own medieval ones. Her strange values and customs were some of the only parts of her humanity she'd retained throughout the centuries: they were the only reflection of her former self she was capable of casting since becoming undead. There wasn't a whole lot left of it. In part, she suspected the humans were able to, on some level, detect her lack of humanity and it drew them to her just like moths to the flame. Humans always had a knack for flirting with death one way or another. Then again, she was a very effective predator.
It was evident the pair was not aiming for subtlety: unless they were outright daft. Judging from the way their movements were deliberate, precise and practically in sync, however, it was easy for one to deduce they could care less if it drew attention to them. They were outsiders here on business matters and that was really all the staff of Las Noches needed to know as far as Katarina was concerned.
The Norwegian beauty approached the bar with utter nonchalance, grace and precision lining every movement she made. The woman did not hesitate to order, stating what she wanted before the bartender was even given a chance to ask her what she wanted. It was evident she was a decisive, ambitious woman that knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to get it. She personally despised people who walked up to a bar and sat there for five minutes muddling over what they were going to drink.
Her voice was every bit as mythical as that of her appearance. It was so serene, in fact, that it could be described as emulating a siren's, easily coaxing the vast majority into a state of awe. "I'd like a bourbon with no ice, a gin and tonic, as well as a bloody mary, please and thank you." Of course the smile that accompanied her order was every bit as refined as the rest of her.
Once the bartender made his way back, her ethereal smile was there to signify her thanks. He set the drinks down on the mat, stating the fee to her. She handed him a bill that would have amounted to a lot of change had she not told him to keep the entire tip. "Just one more thing: do you think you could contact your manager to let her know an old friend wishes to have a drink with her?"
Being as connected to the void as Katarina was meant to practically live and breath as one with the void so when Veroen in the room beneath them accessed it with his own abilities, she was able to feel the void being utilized even as she sat within the bar. Her first assumption was that Kyrre, the void master elder was behind the shift in the void but the darkness itself was quick to assure her that her assumption was wrong. Who then, if not Kyrre could bend the void so flawlessly? It certainly tipped the iceberg so far as interest went, but the infamous voidmaster was by no means concerned by it.

((OOC: That's my favorite part about this guild - uncluttered posts.)) After another drag, Felicia smashed the remaining butt in an ashtray and failed to suppress a smokey grin.
"Then perhaps you've found it."
She drained her martini and pushed the glass toward the bartender while lifting the remaining ensnared green olive to her pale lips. Who was this guy? She coughed up a platinum card for a tiny glass of salty vodka, and he wasn't given a second thought. She slid the morsel from the toothpick with her tongue and teeth and swallowed.
"Awfully inquisitive, aren't we. I suppose she would have to find a new route back."
Her memories were the only things tying her to this city. They created her alternative, an alternative she could never destroy. She was back, but all the time away had made her more self-destructive than she ever was. Smart little goody gone bad.Xander Shawn Xander smiled a toothy grin. "Looking for trouble, I suppose." Xander's eyes darted over to the newcomer...who stood out like a sore thumb in the darkness of Las Noches. And her companion... He looked back to Felicia and stared into her eyes while taking another long drink. "Just making conversation, dear." He smiled again, and then one of the employees came to his side and waited until Xander gave him full attention.
"Meet Rogue in her office. She would like a word." Milos nodded slightly to Xander.
"Thank you, Milos." Xander watched him disappear into the darkness of the club, returning to whatever business Rogue had Milos accomplishing. He looked back to Felicia, his green eyes almost electric and intense. "Perhaps in time, we can burn a few more bridges..." He flashed a toothy seductive grin and slipped his number onto the table, and with a nod, and slight bow, "It has been a pleasure." And with that, he weaved his way through the club and up the sets of stairs to Rogue's office. The guards let him through, and he made himself another drink at her private bar mixing blood and bourbon. He walked to the one sided looking glass overlooking the dance floor and bar down on the main floor, his eyes watching Felicia and wondering about the newcomer. There was something dark that permeated that woman's aura, and she looked so familiar, but he could not place her face.
He continued to contemplate and wonder about the whereabouts of his twin, Xandra as he waited for his elder sister, Kaei.

Cold eyes scanned the room as the former cowboy walked in step beside the beauty to his left. While she was clearly dressed more formally, in line with what one would wear to a typical business meeting, the man was decidedly more disheveled and rugged as per typical of him. He kept his duster and otherwise decidedly old western attire, but he pushed away the wide-brimmed hat, as well as the duster's hood he wore under it, that he typically wore so that it hung over his back via the cord around his neck. His guns were currently hidden away within the void, a useful little trick the woman beside him taught him many years ago; it was how he typically hid his guns from security at airports and the like, when they absolutely needed to fly. Losing the hat did not exactly detract from his already decidedly eye-catching appearance, but he simply did not like to wear them indoors; again, one of those habits he picked from his earlier, human, years that he simply never let go.
Lucien was never quite comfortable with all the stares he typically got from strangers, especially when in the presence of the beautiful blonde at his side, but he learned to deal with it. Mostly he dealt with it with a cold stare of his own. It typically worked, given his rather tall and muscular physique and rather rugged appearance was usually enough to intimidate most people, but he doubted it would be the same here. This was vampire territory, and many of these could very well be much more powerful than he, or at the very least arrogant enough that he'd not be considered as a threat by them. Of all the vampires he'd met throughout the years, so many of them had an unchecked ego, it seemed. To an extent, he had his own measure of arrogance, but he was always observant enough to know that there were plenty of others far more powerful than me; for example, the woman beside him.
He brushed away a lock of dirty blonde hair that fell over his chair as he took a seat in the barstool next to Katarina, not bothering to utter a word as the woman ordered for the both of them. As per typical in such situations, she took charge and ordered what he usually did, a bourbon with no ice. As it was served, he offered the bartender a blank expression before reaching for the glasses and setting it before him. As Katarina paid for the drinks, he simply turned his eye toward her and gave her the hint of a smirk. "You know, one of these days yer gonna hav'ta let me be the one to buy the drinks. Yer usually the one talkin' 'bout propriety 'n' junk, and yet here the lady is buyin' the gentleman a drink. It's a travesty." He gripped the glass before him and quickly guzzled down its contents before setting it down again, eventually followed by a disappointed grimace replacing his smirk. "Just not as big a travesty as this bourbon," he said, turning to her again. "s**t's weak."

Rogue put out the cigarette and walked to the door. "I asked my brother to meet me in my office. I'm sure he's felt something off in regard to Xandra. Join me in my office within the hour." She smiled to Veroen. "It is good to have you back, brother. The bar is of course open to you upstairs."
Her eyes met Alexz's. "And the upper rooms are open. I spoke with Milos. There are a few humans he has chosen for you. He is also under orders to not let you leave until you've properly fed." A coy smile spread onto her face, and she turned, leaving the room and making her way up to the main floor.

Felicia was the type who mostly kept to herself and never appreciated people who seemed to purposely draw attention to themselves - afterall, she was an author in her past life. Nothing gets much more behind the scenes than that. And as such, she refused to pay the newcomer any more attention than she was already receiving. She could act like she hated the looks all she wanted, but Felicia knew her type and she would not indulge such a person.
By the time Xander walked away, she was in full blush. Eye contact was almost painful for her, and he gave her no choice. Those mysterious green eyes hypnotized her. But she purposely stayed out of his head, assuming she wouldn't like what she found right then. The man who spoke with him had her nervous.
Then she looked down, and discreetly unfolded the little piece of paper. Her face flared up all over again. Burn a few more bridges? But she couldn't lie to herself, because she was aroused by the idea of this stranger. Wait...he was a stranger.
"I didn't even get his name," she whispered. How could she call someone she couldn't address by name?
Suddenly distracted, she inhaled. Blood was in the air. Her eyes darted about searching for the source. She chewed her lip, causing a little blood to trickle over her teeth. Shaking her head, Felicia pocketed the slip and called the bartender over.
Too nervous to bring up what she smelled, "Vodka cranberry, please. And then I think I'll be finished."
Moments later, she took the chilled glass in her hand and strolled nonchalantly to a darker corner of the club. She couldn't shake the sensation of being watched.

|| OOC: Am I sensing hostility in that statement? lol ||
Katarina had always handled the unwanted stares that she drew from individuals better than Lucien did. That being said, she had approximately seven centuries worth of experience to trump him in the matter. She had learned to ignore it long ago, not that it made it go away but eventually people adjusted to her presence and simply stole glances here and there. And while an ignorant person might assume the attention was perceived as positive by her, they could not be more wrong. Such attention only served to alienate and seclude her: most people being far too nervous to approach her. While it had bothered her centuries ago, she was by now completely desensitized to it. Back when she had been young and still possessed the desire to fit in, required human contact, the need to belong, it had utterly devastated her.
The stares were not accepting or welcoming, they were critical: she would never understand why models could subject themselves to such treatment willingly for a salary. How they would mold and shape themselves to someone's will just for a chance to be published on a magazine cover. What salary was worth someone's dignity? It was what sensible people would consider a depressing prospect. It was because of people who were judgmental based on appearances, that she'd shed her concern of pleasing society long ago. In ways this could be hypocritical of her based on her hatred for lycans stemming from many incidents with mongrels and she was well aware of the fact. However, when someone had lived as long as she had it was essentially impossible to change who you had become: something she wouldn't expect the likes of an overly judgmental person to expect.
"While the gesture is a very noble one," Katrina teased the Western man with a smirk, "reason insists I beg the question of what money to purchase these supposed drinks you would use." It was more or less another one of her rhetorical questions. They both knew Lucien was about as responsible with his money as a child was with their first dollar. The man loved to drink and gamble his earnings away. And when he wasn't indulging himself in the same vices humans became dependent upon, he was using it to purchase gun parts.
That was something about him she would never understand (it had been over a hundred years and she still failed to see the appeal): guns were so ... obtrusive and deafening. To each, she supposed, was own. He was free to make his choices and selections just as she was free to make hers. While she did not agree with his choices, she was able to respect them to a certain degree or at least agree to disagree. After all, he was a grown man that was able to take care of and think for himself. Their relationship as far as Katarina was concerned, was a constant flux that hung on the balance of tolerance and respect. There were the occasional days where their apparent differences became a trial of patience.
"Besides," she decided to add on a more serious note despite her mischievous tone suggesting otherwise, "being able to support oneself and buy their friend drinks on top of that establishes independence. Currency has always been key to independence even as far back as I can remember: and we both know I'm an old bag so that statement alone offers a lot of perspective."
After offering a Lucien a few moments to formulate a response by taking a dainty sip of her gin and tonic, she turned to him and offered a casual shrug in response to his grimacing. Ever the realist she never failed to state the matters of fact and maintain perspective. "Seeing as you cannot experience the effects of intoxication any longer I fail to see why you insist on judging the drink's quality by alcoholic content to begin with." Such an antic was lost on her. Then again her ability to taste had been another part of her humanity that had been lost to her. Lucien was still relatively young when compared to her and sometimes she found herself envious of that fact.
While she didn't look it by any stretch of the imagination, she was old and weary. She'd spent far too much time in this world: had seen too many things, heard too many things. Jaded wasn't even tipping the iceberg where her perspective of the world was concerned. Too many centuries of repeated mistakes and senseless deaths she'd witnessed first hand. The complex woman brought desensitized to an entirely different level. Death had ceased to phase her long ago: it was simply a part of life just as greed, envy and lust were. She'd seen the struggle between what most referred to as 'good' and 'bad' more times than years she was old. And if there was one thing she'd learned from it: life was anything but fair. It was also impossible to explain or predict.
For that reason she was ever grateful for what she had. After all, had Lucien not crossed paths with her when he had she likely would not be sitting where she was now. She owed him her life and while she was certain he was content to say she'd made it up to him, she still held the memory close. It was her reminder to never forget that even one as wise and powerful as she was at the mercy of the unpredictability of life.
"Are you sure," she decided to ask in a chiding tone that emulated that of a mother's, "you're not just saying that for the sake of being difficult and not caring to be here?" She knew he hated the formalities and manners she insisted upon having. She also knew had hadn't been particularly keen on coming to New York at all. However, she'd heard through personal sources that vampire safe houses in this city had been bombed. Innocents had been killed and there was a price that had to be extracted from those who'd stolen lives that weren't theirs to take.

Veroen silently nodded at rogue as she suggested that he have a few drinks. It was a nice idea, really. He thought about the time he spent in Ireland a few decades ago, spending endless nights drowning himself in alcohol.
He uncrossed his arms after Rogue finished her statement.
"Likewise, dear sister. I'll let you know if I find out anything." he paused before heading to the door. "...be sure to do the same."
He then turned to Alexz, with a slight grin. "Be sure to drink up, if we are to be as effective of a trio as we are, I should think that you need to replenish yourself." And with that, he dissipated into a flash of Void energy, only to reappear at an empty seat at the bar that had just moments earlier been a floor above him.
Veroen didn't gaze around the bar like he would have done in the old days. There was little that he was afraid of, and he knew no one would be stupid enough to attempt to ignite a confrontation in the very bar that had the Vampire headquarters underneath it. He did however, feel the presence of two Void Users in the vicinity. He paused for a moment, not taking his eyes from the counter in front of him. He wondered who these two Void Users were, figuring that they were newcomers in the City, since as far as he knew he was the last remaining Void Master in the coven, other than Rogue and Alexz, who both had small, yet distinguished connections to it as well.
His train of thought was broken when the bartender spoke to him. "What'll it be?"
Veroen glanced up at the bartender and said in a deep toneless voice, "The usual."
The bartender gave him a questionable look, before finally realizing who he was looking at. The bartender smirked, and tossed the towel he had been using a few moments ago to wipe up a mess, over his shoulder.
"I'll be damned. Haven't seen you in years, V." He chuckled again, "Ha! Figured you'd be back, Jason owes me 10 bucks!" The bartender chuckled to himself, and drew a cigarette from his pocket, and lit it with a smile. As he exhaled, he spoke to Veroen again. "So the usual, eh? That ridiculous concoction of yours from Ireland, right? Right away." He started to turn, but stopped and turned back to Veroen. "Good to have you back, sir."
Veroen nodded at him in acknowledgement. Veroen had known the bartender for quite some time, though he never asked for his name. Clearly, however, the Bartender remembered him quite well.
Veroen flicked his fingers, and out of a flash of Void energy, produced a Cuban cigar out of midair. It would be his third for the evening. He didn't normally consume so many fine cigars in one evening, but his return to the city was a truly special occasion. He brought it to his mouth, and with the same technique, he manifested his silver lighter in the other hand, and then lit the cigar. He flipped the lid of the lighter shut, and it disappeared into another puff of Void energy. Moments later, the Bartender set down an extremely dark, murky concoction in front of Veroen. Veroen smiled at the corner of his mouth, and glanced up at the bartender, and handed him a few bills, and said, "Thanks, keep'em comin."
The bartender grinned and replied "Very well." and turned around to tend to the other customers.
Veroen downed the entire concoction that wreaked of multiple strong liquors in one smooth motion, setting the empty glass down on the counter in front of him with a soft clink. He then took a large hit off the fat Cuban cigar, and proceeded to glance around the bar, taking note of every face in the vicinity.
"Interesting..." he muttered to himself after getting a look at the two newcomers who clearly stuck out like sore thumbs. More than likely the two Void users he felt moments earlier.
He aimed his eyes back to the counter in front of him quietly, as he waited for his next round of drinks.

As Rogue entered the main floor, one of her employees stopped her, telling her of the woman who wanted to have a drink with Rogue...a old friend. Rogue's curiosity led her to ask her employee to point the woman out. Her gaze landed upon none other than Katarina...an old vampire from one of the Nordic countries...before the countries were separated like they were in modern day. Though there were worse things that had plagued the city without any visit or interference from other covens abroad, she wondered why some simple set of bombings could draw the attention of ...well, an elder vampire who had been so in many covens, never staying for long.
She decided her brother could wait, and Rogue made her way to the bar. "Old friend, I did not expect such a surprise!" The bartender put a mixed drink in front of Rogue, bourbon with a splash of blood. She nodded to the bartender, and then looked back to Katarina. "My God, you haven't aged a day, Katarina. The years have been kind." She smirked and continued. "What brings you to this city?"
