A post by MSNBC would only strengthen my resolve that its false or preconceived information. So you got me pegged there.
And why dont you just make up a generic 'Traveler' class? And what sort of race are you fancying? I think playing an pseudo-substantial ghost-like race would be neat. The sort that choose to take on a solid form and can control their own molecular makeup.

Humanoid, and something with some magical potential, although teloplasty was omething i kept toying with. I had gunmage in mind, but i'm kind of going for something younger. but the idea is to create something that would be shaped by a certain type of lifestyle.
I did consider metallomorph, but i've fallen back on that a lot personally.

Hmm....I'd usually suggest a basic Sorcerer in this case, as a Half-Elf or Eladrin, but you want something less conventional....
Whats the occasion?

Sorcery is a rather broad category though.

Then make it specific. Thats why I love the class, it can become damn near anything.

A suit of " living " armor, enchanted with morphing magic so that it can alter itself as it gets more powerful.
Imagine Al from Fullmetal Alchemist, but able to shift the armor into stronger stuff, and form weapons on his hands. That'd be the general idea.
Like, every Xth level, it automatically forms stronger armor and weapons, but the tradeoff is, it can't use other weapons or armor that another character could from like loot drops, etc.

"Touch Alchemist" Class eh?
Most of that is summoning except you must draw the materials from the world around you. Touch a tree summon a spear, touch carbon and iron, summon a sword... Touch sand, summon... a pane of glass, maybe glass weaponry?
Touch sulfar, saltpeter, iron, and carbon... Summon a gatling gun! Wahaa! Wahaa!

More like, able to morph one arm into a McStabbenflabber or whatever you prefer and the other into some kinda shield or something, etc. Dual-weapons if you want even, you get the idea.
As it becomes more powerful, it can morph itself into a tougher armor, and in turn, morph tougher weapons.

I've always wanted to build the Alchemist class for 3.5.

So you guys haven't switched from 3.5 to 4.0? I guess buying a whole new set of books would be quite troublesome, especially since you already are buying a whole new set of books for Star Wars Saga Edition.
