[[??? : ??? : ???]]

At a table floating amidst the abyss, sat a single, lone figure who stared upon the table with the intense thoughtful expression of one playing chess against a very difficult opponent. His expression was strained and tired, bags under his eyes deeply defined. He took a deep breath and sighed.

Across from him, appearing from seemingly nothing, three figures gave life to the world beyond the table, a cloth covered, tent like enclosure with exhausted incense sticks and candles smothered leaving a smoky aura.

The man looked up from his game and winced slightly, the tension on his forehead and bloodshot eyes were exaggerated further, "Ah, so, it's you is it?"

They said nothing, only stood there watching the man and the table, a soft, warm breeze flowing in at their backs.

"Now it begins to make sense. What now? Last time this ended entirely in my favor. You're alone and no one will come to your aid here, so what will change?"

"They're not alone..." and the world was engulfed in fire.

{Bobbi .:. Narnia .:. Forsaken Hall}

Bobbi pursed her lips as Kyle moved and spoke. She sternly placed a hand on his shoulder in a silent order to hold still, dammit, and inspected his rapidly-healing wounds. When she had access, she checked his back to see if there were burns she had missed, but Joe's Esuna or Regen or whatever you called it was doing its job admirably, and Kyle didn't seem to need her Balm anymore. She dissipated the last of it, and lightly whapped him upside the head. Not hard enough to hurt, just hard enough to sound like it should have.

"What he said," she muttered as she got to her feet, referring to Joe2's reaction. Hands on her hips and a very stern expression on her face, Bobbi looked around at the rest of the group. "If anyone else is hurt, please speak up so the healers can get you patched up and ready to go. And be ready to hop right back into battle; we don't know what Louis is up to, but it looks like this was just another distraction," she continued, her voice pitched to carry and with enough authority in it that she should be heard no matter where in the hall someone was. The tone of voice she was speaking in finally hit her, and she blinked, rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly, and looked to leader!Joe for a moment.

"Um, sorry if I'm overstepping my bounds," she said, feeling her face grow hot as she blushed. She honestly wasn't sure what came over her when she started barking out orders this time. She had absolutely no desire to take over leadership of the group from Joe. Although, a niggling little thought at the back of her head admitted that she wouldn't mind being second in command, but her conscience insisted that could only happen if no one else more qualified stepped up to the plate. But now she felt like she'd overstepped her bounds, but she firmly sat on any worries or anxieties that would have cropped up from that in favor of the more pressing concerns. Like Kyle and Ajora and Louis.

{James : Narnia : Forsaken Hall}

{{Cue: Nuclear(Instrumental)}}

There was satisfaction in victory, even if it was fleeting. The corsair was definitely satisfied as he watched the monstrous spider burn away into the floor turned magma. That feeling though quickly turned to one of horror and dread as the spider changed back into the boy, reaching towards the sky screaming, hoping for help that would not come. The boy burned just like the spider and James experienced for the first time and he hoped last, the ghastly sight of someone being burned alive… one whiff of that acrid smell with the gunner’s enhanced sense of smell was enough for him to cup his left hand over his nose and forcefully plug his nostrils, not wanting to bare the stench anymore. Just that brief hint of it was enough to make him feel light headed, almost sick to his stomach. His right hand was then raised up to his face to protect it from the heat of an explosion from the throne where Louis and Kyle? Ajora? Whoever had been.

The corsair was not a healer and had no real way to help. By the time he felt stable enough to make his way over to the dragoon, Joe, Mizu, and the other Joe were already by him. Kyle seemed fine, a bit crispy perhaps but fine. Their gravity user seemed confused by Kyle’s intentions which were valid concerns given his apparent acting? If that was what it even was. It was definitely confusing. However, the gunner wasn’t sure if now was the right time to get those answers. Louis was gone again, his game was not over. He nodded his head at Mizu as she told them all to be ready, and his hexagun had still not left his hand. He didn’t feel like saying anything, nor did he feel like he had anything worthwhile to say, which was fine by him because he was afraid he might puke if he kept his mouth open for too long. He focused on scanning the room, trying to figure out where another attack would come from if it did, or where they should go next. One thing was certain, all of his senses wanted him to get away from the smoldering corpse of Dumael as quickly as he could.

’The hunt continues… when will this end?’ He thought, trying to fight back building frustration once again.

[Joe: Narnia: Forsaken Hall]

The male sighed. Well, at least Kyle seemed okay for the most part. So that was a plus. And then Bobbi came over to assist some, as well. And theeeeen the other Joe came over with some...concerns.

The leader ended up looking away from the convo. Kyle was supporting himself somewhat on him, so the monk felt like he should stay there. But he definitely didn't want to be the one to say 'weeeeeell this is kind of how Kyle is'. He did bite his lip, though, as he looked away. Theyd been a group for less than a week, he was self-appointed leader, and knew most wouldn't listen to him all the time.

Oooooor would just take charge on their own and realize it, as Bobbi just had. The male shrugged. Why berate someone for yelling out something that was both obviously and probably something he should've been saying?

The monk did look exceedingly tired, though. Not like anyone could probably blame him, what with collosal fear, on top of everything else that'd happened, coming in so close together. And it didn't seem like it was ending any time soon.

And he was beginning to question if he was up to the leader job, too.

[ ??? : Narnia -> Disney : Outside the Storm -> Outside the City Walls ]

The man seemed unperturbed by Noelle's surprise or hesitance--in fact, he seemed unfazed entirely, as if it had been expected. Still, as Prote and she gripped his hands, he gave a reassuring smile and walked backwards into the doorway, pulling them along. Even though they could see the other side of the threshold, light seemed to glimmer as they grew closer to the door, becoming nearly blinding before finally dimming.

And then, once again, they were quietly under the veil of night, in the forest south of Disney, some dozen meters away from the gates and out of sight of the guards.

The man pulled his hands away softly, crossing them behind his back again, and the door shut automatically behind the two of them, vanishing.

"I am sorry for the trials you had to face before I could bring you home." he said, his smile fading into a solemn expression. "Even now, your friends work through the trials as well, but they are beyond reach. You were pulled out, among other reasons, because you seemed to be especially targeted."

[Noelle : Prote ~ Disney ~ Outside the City Walls]

The quiet of the Disney Castle's forest almost made Noelle's ears start to ring. The swirling, tumultuous clouds in Narnia disappeared behind them, and her spear flashed in dismissal. Her boot-clad feet touched the soft grass, and she suddenly wished them gone. Any comfort--grass between her toes, a soft melody, the cool feeling of water, anything--was her immediate desire. But instead she only had the knot in her stomach, and the pounding in her chest, and the burning of tears in her eyes. She stared at the Apprentice blankly as he spoke, just barely comprehending what he was saying, but matching memories to his words nonetheless. There was a strain in her features as she fought back what she was feeling, then a break in a composure as she quickly melted into heavy sobbing.

"He was r-right there . . . h-he was there . . .but n-not, it wasn't real, but he was there." She whispered with her head in her hands, everything about her seeming small and fragile. "Daddy . . . daddy please . . . please please . . ."

[ ??? : Disney : Outside the City Walls ]

The aged wizard's expression became crestfallen at the sight of the young woman's overwhelming emotion. Look down momentarily, as if to compose himself as much as to give her some privacy, he glanced back up at the Geist, Prote, pausing, choosing his words.

"I understand the betrayal you must be feeling right now," he finally said, turning to her with as calm and comforting expression as he could manage in the face of her grief. "It is... good that you see, at least, that it was farce--a cruel lie, but a lie all the same."

"If it would ease your heart, the method to magically heal such grief would be trivial," he began, once more looking at Prote. "Your friend could remove the memories of the event from you, or I could manage something myself, perhaps in the form of an elixir."

[Noelle : Prote ~ Disney ~ Outside the City Walls]

Noelle hiccupped and tried to clear the tears from her eyes, but they just wouldn't stop. Her body ached, but her chest hurt worst of all. It was hard to make out what the Apprentice was saying, but after a moment she understood. She nodded quickly at first, just wanting to forget--to sleep and forget that warm embrace she'd felt and seen that wasn't really there, the things he said in his voice, in the words he would use, but never really did. After a brief moment she shook her head a little, negating her first agreement.

"I d-don't know, I just . . . I just . . ." she held her head, unable to give a clear indication of what she desired.

Prote watched her, trying to express concern the best he could.
"Perhaps rest first. You may decide later."

The agromancer nodded weakly to this. Her thoughts were too tumultuous to make any kind of decision for herself, so waiting was her only option.

[ ??? : Disney : Outside the City Walls ]

"Indeed, rest and wait. This world's light has powerful healing properties," he nodded, turning himself so that one side was toward them, and another was toward the castle, to which he now gazed.

"I'm afraid, however, that this is where we part," he said, then turning back to look at her. "My place is not here, but out there, with much to be done. So much to do, so little time..."

He paused, looking down once more at the ground in contemplation before looking back up to her. "If you wish to go and rest now, you may. But for the moment, I can remain and answer what questions you may have."

She shook her head, her lack of questions clear.

"Then I depart. They will wonder as to your reappearance, and your friends' absence--they fight even now against the boy from your world, Louis," he said, turning to face her more directly. "He is the center of that problem. Though they struggle, have faith in their success. But most importantly: send no one else into that maelstrom. They may be lost to the engulfing darkness, even as your friends seek to close it off."

"With that, I leave you," he said, beginning to walk toward them, his goal in the forest beyond them. But as he neared them, he stopped, as if remembering something. "And it may be pertinent to find some way to send a message to them that you are safe. They will likely be unable to hear you until they are free, but the panic at your absence may cause more concern than necessary."

And then he continued onward into the shadows of night, disappearing in the forest beyond.

[Amy : Narnia : Forsaken Hall]

Overkill! Amy felt a brief exultation before turning back to see what Louis and Kyjora were doing again. Her feeling of triumph was replaced with confusion. "Alan?"

The throne erupted into a mini-sun-ball that threatened to engulf her, and she found herself trying to move backward to get out of the way. It was fast, though, so there wasn't much she could really do. She was glad of having moved away from the two in order to cast at the alien-spider. She was still hit by the outter edge of the sun-spell. When it disappeared, she could be seen on her knees, repeatedly casting Cura on herself and making an 'ehhh' whining/complaining noise whenever she had to move.

Kyle appeared to be alright, and he received the brunt of it, so she would be fine. She listened as he explained Alan's replica. The Curas did their job, and she stood up, waving people off, had they come to check on her. She walked to the group around Kyle. He was telling Kyla that her attempt to see if this was still illusion probably wouldn't work, 'cause Louis knew everything she was capable of. She looked to other members of the group, landing on Joseph. Louis didn't know everyone's capabilities.

Then Joseph yelled at Kyle, and Amy laughed. She didn't mean to, but it was nice to see someone about to have almost the same reaction she was. She had felt the need to babysit him this entire time. After all, he wasn't Kyle at the time, he was Ajora. Bobbi, too! Amy added a some-what playful, albeit very accusatory, "Yeah, Kyle," and in a much more sober tone, "But seriously, what the hell was that?"

Bobbi became embarrassed after giving sound advise to anyone who needed healers. She apologized to Joe, but Joe didn't respond. Well, he shrugged. Amy interpreted, "It's fine, Bobbi," and added, "I think the group should have a talk about what 'overstepping bounds' is. We're not mindless people. When a need is present, it's OK to say things to fix it. In fact, as a team, that's exactly what you're supposed to do. Take volley ball. When the ball is coming your way, and either you could get it, or someone else could, then you call out that you've got it, and you get it. OR the other person calls out that they've got it, and you let them handle it.

"Leadership is not about doing it all yourself. Teamwork is key. My boss would hate me if he had to do my job. His role is to oversee our roles, not to do them for us. He loves that he doesn't have to tell me what to do. It's OK to know our roles. It's OK to do them without permission. It's OK to state the 'obvious' for others, because sometimes it's not 'obvious' for everybody. You're not overstepping bounds; you're helping out.

"For example! I've stated multiple times that if anyone needs a heal, they should ask for it. In case that's been forgotten in the heat of the moment, Bobbi has reiterated, and added some sound advice. Go team."

[ Kyle ; Sayrike ; Jenny : Narnia : Forsaken Hall ]

Kyle visibly flinched as Joe--space-Joe--suddenly yelled at him. He'd expected some retaliation at some point, though not necessarily from him; he was the new guy, after all.

His chest tightened. He could feel his lungs straining against an invisible force. Unconsciously, his hands seemed to search each other out, as he took his weight off Joe and stood on his own two feet, his fingers quickly intertwining, one hand pulling away and the other pulling closer in turns, as if to crack his knuckles.

He couldn't help but laugh at the Hamlet reference, though it was stifled quickly after. Bobbi and Amy piled on next, but he wasn't unopposed. On the contrary, he only seemed explanatory, not defensive.

"Negative success," he said. "In that Louis didn't accept Ajora. In fact, seemed to outright refuse to believe he was alive--which means he might know more about his fate than we do, something to look into."

"Anyway, Louis and Ajora--well, Louis, anyway, considered Ajora a friend. They'd entered a drive once in Hawaii, they'd shared a head-space for a large portion of yesterday, and for whatever reason, Louis had a tentative respect for him which I could probably divulge if I had more time and focus to look in at the feelings Ajora felt during the drive," he continued.

"If we're going to fix all this without fighting him into unconsciousness or near-death, it's going to be through talk. I tried talking to him as 'Kyle' when we did the drop into Bobbi's heart shortly before we left, and the only thing I got in return was pseudo-intellectual contempt followed shortly thereafter by psychopathic cackling, all of the above saying he couldn't care less if we lived or died," he went on. "So if talking as Kyle didn't work, I needed to further eliminate the possibility of talking as Ajora--and this was the most direct audience I was going to get. Or so I thought."

"'Course, now we know it was just another layer of trickery, but we know he's paying attention to everything. The helmet spoke on its own, and only right before Kagatsuchi exploded, which means he knew and was probably ordering him to do so," he said. "So either way, he refused parlay with either of me. Any diplomacy I might have is pretty much useless, so it would seem, and I wanted to get that out of the way now."

"I didn't clue you in because I don't know how well you are at acting, and most of these guys and gals tend to show their emotions pretty easily, whether they mean to or not," he continued. At this point his sort of sagged his shoulder, sheepishly making sure not to hold eye contact with most of the group, save Joe-2. "I needed all of you at least to appear shocked, angry, or suspicious enough to forsake me, if not yell at me, if I was going to convince him, and the only way to guarantee that was not to clue you in. I figured Jenny might have figured out, but I did give Joe a hint after the fact, at least, if only because his default emotion is pretty much anger and-or determination anyway."

"And before anyone thinks I don't see it, believe me, I know I'm a hypocrite," he said, and his lack of defensive tone was at least clear. "I know it was a ********, and I deserve every iota of anger you've got coming on. I need to work on my impulsive planning. Just... trying to do this whole 'save Louis' schtick is pretty freakin' hard when someone always attacks before he does and starts the hostilities."

Meanwhile...

"Guys. Are we even really sure it's actually Kyle?" Sayrike asked the entire group, save Kyle, over the charms in between his breaths. She had gone to check on Amy, but had kept her mirrors up; even now she was half-behind them, near enough to listen to the group but far enough that she was out of immediate attacking range.

"His heartsong is still the same," Jenny added to the remark, her unease present in her tone but not so much that it made her timid or anything of the kind. "It hasn't changed since whatever happened at the Castle this afternoon."

"So either Kyle is really good at acting like his eloquent replica, or Ajora is really good at acting like Kyle," Sayrike said; whether or not she meant it, her words might have evoked the memory of another switch earlier in their week. "I mean... we all saw what was happening in the illusion back there, right?"

"Maybe we should just figure that out when we're not in the enemy's lair, though. He has been helping," John mentally chimed in.

[[ Joe : Narnia : Forsaken Hall ]]

Joe shook his head as he processed the information. "OK, I get what you were doing, but that still doesn't explain how you were able to change into your...evil clone, replica, whatever they're called." he made eye contact with the dragoon again. "Given your recent history, I don't think it's unreasonable to ask questions when you look like you've got another problem with darkness in your heart."

"Secondly, did you not notice the giant ******** spider behind us? The one that caused Joe to have a panic attack and nearly smeared several of us against the wall? I don't care if you planned a little emergency therapy for him on the spot; Louis is trying to kill us and we needed your help taking on his latest monstrosity. "

"Thirdly..."
Joe stopped and sighed. Kyle had brought up the 'dealing with Louis' thing, and it was high time that the group settled on this. He doubted what he was about to say would earn him many friends, but it had to be done.

"...we need to drop the idea of saving Louis. Only counting tonight, he's murdered at least five people, tried to kill all of us multiple times, is generating a giant storm that's threatening to destroy everything in its' path, and put us through that damned illusion of the people we love dying again. That is the bare minimum of what he's done and from what you all have told me, that's only scratching the surface. Why in the world should we leave him alive at this point when that's only getting in the way of the much more important task of stopping him from hurting anyone else?"

[Kyla: Narnia: Forgotten Hall]

“You’re right, and I considered that… I guess what I’m really worried about is just how this nightmare works.. I want to know how it’s ticking.. what’s keeping it ticking… and are we, in any shape and or form helping it along- ” She felt no response from her spell, at least not the way she wanted.

“If it were me, and I wanted to make a nightmareish pocket reality- no doubt I’d need a lot fo power. The question is just how much power this would require…I keep thinking back to Atlantis when you took a long time to prepare your magic, and how you needed to even take energy from other sources. It makes me think..

..if I was a superior weaver of magics I’d make a pocket reality capable to recycling energy from alternative source- like say… the people stuck inside it? Imagine if the more mana we crank out, the more a spell could absorb.”

“- It’s just a thought-…one I’m going to pray that’s now how it works, and we’re not in some way helping sustain this monstrosity with our struggling. But even if that was the case- what’s the alternative? I doubt you expect us to do nothing and-” she cut off as her book lit up, and fizzled out.
She felt a little different, and words jotted themselves on the page, listing the occupants of the room, and their basic stats and HP levels.
[Kyla has learned Scan]

“- oh!..well.. That’s something.” She mumbled and closed her book, wondering to herself why it took so long to learn something so basic. Maybe she was slower then she liked to admit. Kyla touched her hand to the floor once more, as if she could glean some impression from the person who once sat there on the throne now reduced to rubble.
The others continued to talk, even berate Kyle for taking such a huge risk, eventually she stood up and sighs dusting her legs off and turning to face him as he finished his piece.

Though she did look pointly to Jenny and Sayrike, Kyla didn't respond to the mentla exchange. For some reason, in this place... she didn't trust the sanctity of the charms connection. Her thoughts harkened back to the little gift Ajora gave through her- to Kyle, and Kyla's heart sank a little.

Was this her fault too?

“I’m not going to be angry Kyle…I don't have a right to be, I would have done the same thing had I not decided to try and ….be… a… team pl…” she was muttering under her breath, reducing her words to silence. Previous events and encounter leaving a bitter taste in her mouth.

Joe gave her an order and she followed it. But if he hadn’t spoken, the artist knew chance were she would have been trying to appeal to whatever good may or not exist in him if the chance arose. Fortunately or unfortunately, the time user was able to pull that off a lot faster and safe then she could amount to.

When Joe asked the big hard question Kyla shrugged and took a depe breath, her shoulders slouching heavily.

“…it’s what good guys do right? Louis is..was… sorta… is one of us. regardless of how he was turned into a tool- If he didn’t want to stop, I don’t think he’d have a choice any more. But if there’s a chance he could regain control or stop what he’s doing from the inside, might as well try if we get a chance. IF we get a chance. Doing the right thing is never easy.”

She looked away from everyone, down at her book, hands gripping the bindings of it. “This whole place.....it’s almost as if, this whole thing is trying to push us to reach a resolute. Framing the situation as if we have no other choice in the matter- then to end it how he wants it to-"

" If we are made to hate him enough, fear him enough… we can be made to do whatever he wants- whatever 'IT' wants. To what end? Prove a point? That under the right circumstances we can be changed like this? We can be made to do anything if pushed hard enough? I’m not ready to forfeit everything and play into this dark role just yet…but that doesn’t mean I won’t stop him. I want to stop him, and most certainly not the way the darkness wants me to...”

Something told her that making the earthlings kill their own, scarring them with it- would be just wonderful to the Eldritch horror lying in wait beyond the viel, and Kyla didn't want to give that thing the satisfaction, not if she could help it.

Elle’s face flash in her mind’s eye.
'…I’ll cross that bridge when I get there- for now, I want to still be myself when I see my brother again?'

Kyla still wasn’t ready to flat out say she’d kill someone yet. She still couldn’t.
"So.. the question is how? I guess its my job to figure it out if there is one if I wanna hold tight to my delusions so badly." she looked up and jumped into the air- taking the high vantage point again- "..and where is the exit?"

{James : Narnia : Forsaken Hall}

James took a few more moments before he felt stable enough to move and to speak again. The blackened corpse of the child remained, an unpleasant reminder. However, the scent that lingered was tolerable now. There was a lot of discussion and the corsair felt the need to contribute.

”Is this really the time to be discussing this? I agree with John, true Kyle or not. He’s been helping us. The heart song is the most telling to me though that it is indeed Kyle. A part of Ajora may be in Kyle’s heart, allowing him to channel him, call him as need be. I don’t know, and at this point, don’t care. If that is the case Kyle allowed him to be there willingly. Now isn’t the time to deal with it regardless,”

The newer Joe brought up some good points, including the heavy, and grim one that had been on the corsair’s mind since the illusion broke. The corsair had to remind himself of where he had stood on the issue back in the hangar, try to forget about the illusion and the feelings it had invoked in him, his anger that had clouded his thoughts. and caused his reckless action that once again almost cost him dearly. He let out a heavy sigh, rubbing at this eyes and the bridge of his nose, trying to think how best to word things.

”If we can still save him, we should. We don’t even know the whole situation yet. I refuse to just outright kill him until we know the details,” He concluded. HIs focus turning to Kyla who he noticed was now airborne. ”Same set up as the ball Kyla, behind us, the courtyard. Which likely means that each of the five doorways leads somewhere as well. One thing for sure is, Louis isn’t here though, that much is certain. Should we check them out?" He asked, his focus turning to their leader at the last question. He didn’t want to get into another debate on the matter that had been highly disputed, almost heatedly before. It wouldn't do any good to rehash it right now.

[ Kyle : Narnia : Forsaken Hall ]

Kyla's response about her own ideas was noted, and he made particular note of her idea. Her wording made certain things fairly clear, particularly if his various memories served. However, when the time came and Joe's remarks hit, he took a breath, preparing his own response.

"That's a moralistic issue that you're simply not going to get everyone in this group--" Kyle started to say. Started to, anyway, when Kyla began to respond. Joe had opened the bag of worms they'd barely be able to close back at the hangar, and if Kyle knew one thing about Kyla's response--

--yep, there was James' support.

Aie.

He knew at least Kyla would be adamantly against such a final approach. And admittedly, he felt a pang in his chest for his shard; but even if they lost the original host, he had hope they could still manage something with the three shards they currently had--maybe an incomplete heart that could be encouraged to grow...

Kyle sighed.

"One side could argue our alignment, the other side could argue our mission. One side could argue his flagrant crimes, the other side could argue that we are neither judges nor executioners, so to deem such a finality is neither our right nor privilege," Kyle said, shrugging. "For what it's worth, by this point, I'm mostly in agreement with Joe here--Louis refused parley, has refused parley time and time again, and is doing so, by all perceptions we've accumulated so far, willingly, all the while torturing us one way or another."

"At the very least, I think we're still all in agreement that we should not jeopardize the party for the chance at a redemption unless the option is clear, available and at no significant risk to us. Easy for a hypocrite to say."

Kyle shook his head, trying to move back to a more reasonable topic.

"On the topic, yes, I was watching the battle, and if anyone had been in genuine trouble, I'd have dropped the charade entirely and been back in action at the drop of a dime. But give yourselves some credit, none of you were 'nearly smeared against the wall'," he said, defending not his own choice but their abilities. "And, uh, about the change, you're still new to the dress spheres, so you probably didn't know you could just change them on a whim. Though, that proves s**t about my heart, so you're obviously right to be distrustful."

A old dialog echoed from his memory--or, rather, Ajora's memory.

You say that like we're not one and the same.

"The only possible way I could give any sort of consequential proof is if I merged with someone in a drive, since they'd know the content and character of my heart," he explained, though he shrugged. "But doing that now would just be wasteful of our energy, especially when we're sure to have more to do ahead."

"Your talk bores me."

Kyle was taken somewhat aback by the Norn, having somehow forgotten the giantess' presence. He watched as she strolled off toward the crater, kneeling down to study it.

He sympathized, groaning somewhat to himself, and took Kyla's analytic cue.

"Mathy, I'm gonna use Clarity since you were on duty for the battle. Can you give me a feed?" he asked, and on getting a nod, he muttered under his breath: "Bex Zi."

With any luck, now that they had time, they might be able to glean something about where to go from here.

Meanwhile...

"Now isn't the time--?!" Sayrike responded, and even behind behind her mask, her expression grew tight. "He helped manipulate three worlds into chaos, brainwashed you, destroyed Joe's eye, ripped out the heart of one of your colleagues, and the last I remember hearing from the other team, he got close to them and proceeded to replicate them, too!"

"And we know now he was buddy-buddy with Louis," Anthony added, though he was physically keeping to himself off to the side, looking at one of the ruined pillars of the hall. "If he's the one in control, maybe he's here to help Louis finish us off."

"And in the face of that, isn't it awfully convenient that Kyle was the one to volunteer us for this mission?" the mirror mage pressed. "I'm not saying start an inquisition, but this is the time to worry about it, and we should at least be wary about him until proven otherwise."

Jenny didn't contribute one way or another, though her anxiousness was pretty clear as she fiddled with her flute off to the side.
