"Order" is such a misleading word. For us, it usually means PIZZA PARTY WOOHOO!

I think of heard of that one. And yeah I kinda sorta have to agree.
The main problem about American entertainment is that either:
A: The people in charge don't want to put money in a "risky" show/movie and instead want to go with the safe ones. This is why Micheal Bay is so popular. Yeah he spends a lot of money making his movies, but he usually gains them back despite the fact they're only good because they're big and loud and full of explosions and stuff instead of actually having character devolopment or a stable plot.
B: When they do put money into it either the rest of the network doesn't like it and does everything they can to kill it. Also known as Screwed By the Network . Firefly is usually falls under this. Episodes where shown out of order, delayed, put into "dead" time slots where people can't or won't uusally watch it at.
C: When they do put money into it any and all people who would be interested in it actually stay away because "It's just going to be canceled." Once again Firefly is an example. People saw it went "This is awesome! But it's going to get cancled" This means that if people actually gave it a chance while it first started it might have had a chance of still being on the air.
Or in terms of movies because one of the more "safe" movies is on. Example this time? Scott Pilgrim Vs The World against The Expendables.
Indy rock, comic book based, anime and game inspired love story versus THE BIGGEST NAMES in ACTION movie history. It's not really surpising that The Expendable was a Blockbuster, but most people who saw both tends to agree that Scott Pilgrim was a better movie all around.

As for why Hollywood tends to rip off stories from other countries? Because somebody either liked it or they found out a group of Americans likes it and decide to bring it over here. But we can't just leave the story alone Oh No can't have that. If the book hasn't been made into a movie you can't blame them too much, except for Americanizing it. Now if they're remaking a movie you can blame them if it sucks. Granted, the remakes look better then the originals, but once again we have to Americaniz everything. We can't show a forigen film! No we have to pay them the rights so we can make it and get more money that way! Because to show the orginal version with subtitles or dubed , which is more expensive then making a whole movie and people wouldn't see it anyways because they hate to read during a movie (sarcasm), would me most of the royalties would have to go to the orignal actors and directors and stuff instead of us.

I went on a rant....

That's a quick way to ruin my day... I just got a PM stating that I had been reported for something and needed to provide account information to clear it up. It appeared to be a password phishing attempt, so I reported it.

Still... disconcerting, to be sure...

Haha... I got one of those the other day. I reported it as well. The really disconcerting ones are the ones that show up in my email asking for my passy. >_>;

@Dart: You're on to something for sure, but I don't know... I just think that they made the movie for the wrong market when they made Scott Pilgrim. The current generation that loves that kind of thing is the generation that is stuck at bars, picking up one-nighters, and in general trying to get something for nothing. They (...we...? I don't count myself as a general part of the population here) don't want to go spend money to see a phenomenal movie geared specifically twords them.
I'm so totally buying the movie when it comes out next month. >_>

rolleyes now why would I wanna do a fool thing like jinx ya tires? That's no fun.

I'm glad you got it taken care of though.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 30, 2010 7:49 pm

Well... I dunno. I guess it could have been my mom... She also got a flat recently and had to replace all her tires too... XD But yes. I'm glad I got it fixed too. It was a good time for something to happen, because I had someone to bum a ride off and help getting everything rolling for new tires. =3
>_< Turns out I needed an alignment too... Gawd, cars are confusing. The dudes I took it to to fix my baby used all sorts of jargon... I almost had to look the words up in wiki... XD;

@Storm: Ummm... they're some funky band. o_O Or something. I dunno. I'm not a pro at music and my tastes aren't terribly sophisticated... but it sounds almost technoish...only not? XD;

Lol, sounds pretty cool...

I'm liking it... but I think it's more that the lyrics make me smile when I listen than anything. It's got a good beat, and it's a good pace, but the real kicker are the crazy lyrics. o_O I see why it'll never be fully mainstream no matter how many good reviews it has on itunes. >___<
