"Hey it's only when it's three times it's a conspriscy," Triton pointed out, "So there just happens to be two, it could happen," he shrugged.
As long as no one asked him to pull his hood once when they got there they should be fine.

Sir Valdemar made sure that Lin was safely up on his shoulder before picking up the enormous tome once more, then made his way back to where the ancient book belonged.
"Writing with a brush?" he questioned curiously. "That would be interesting ... I don't suppose you could show me how that works, if I can dig up the tools for us? Prince EƤrendil should be back in a little while, and I'm the one he'll be looking for first, if you want to find him as early as you can."
He set the book back on the shelf and pushed it in so that its spine was level with the books around it, then paused to rest a moment. He was after all very old, and the tome weighed ... well ... nearly as much as he did.

If everyone just puts on a cloak or something, Gion offered, hands signing quickly again, I can get us through, I'm certain. It's a mix of Westland and Southland elves guarding the dwarfs, and even if I've left home, I'm still Prince. That's got to count for something, even way out here.
Height notwithstanding, his rank would be recognized and respected.

Nadya nodded. "That would work," she agreed.
She grew silent then, slightly hungry and cold, and a little tired. She was used to working long hours in the desert sun, but that was completely different from traveling through this icy mist. She wasn't used to this kind of activity, and she was only just realizing how little prepared she had been for the journey she had known for a number of years now that she would be taking.

Lin nodded, "Yes, yes, I can."
She liked the idea she could show someone, after all it was something everyone else took for granted back home. Not to mention she always thought what her Daddy did was pretty, but he hid it. He didn't want anyone to know that he could do that kind of stuff.
"That should be simple enough, just say when," Yue murmured as he kept an eye on Nadya. Perhaps he thought they should have brought a horse.

"That'll do," Donovan nodded, it was easy enough for him to replace a trench coat with something else, unless he had a hat somewhere.
Well no.. only the straw hat he used to shield his head from the desert sun, but that was it, but knowing Kara she probably put a cloak in just in case. She kept telling him he should blend in more.

"Nadya," Triton murmured softly, "Are you going to be okay?"
It had never occured to him that she might not be use to this much walking, but then again most people in his family were use to walking a lot, and he himself had been in school with others like him, so... it just never occured to him.

Sir Valdemar was delighted. "Then I'll take you to my study," he decided happily. "With one stop on the way."
And with that, he left the library, closing the door tightly behind him. Instead of heading towards the tower and the stairs, he started down the hall in the opposite direction, his destination a small room just down the corridor.

Without waiting for Nadya to answer, Gion dug into his bag and pulled out a small flask. Had he known they would be traveling through the Northland, he would have brought more with him ... but as it was, he had enough for a few days, perhaps.
He held the flask out to Nadya, watching her anxiously.

Nadya nodded to Triton and offered him a small smile.
"The sooner we get this done and over with," she murmured, "the sooner Gion's family will be safe, and the sooner we can all return home. I'll get used to this."
She glanced down at Gion as he held the flask out to her and accepted it curiously. She had no idea what was inside, but she assumed it would be something ... helpful.
She opened the flask and took a small sip to taste. The ale inside burned her throat a bit, but it also roused her senses, and she felt a bit stronger again as she recapped it and handed it back.
"Thank you," she smiled.

"Where are we going?" Lin inquired as she watched the scenery or lack there of pass her by.
She really didn't know the castle at that well and could only depend on what she saw around her.

"Just my little ... old office," Sir Valdemar replied, opening a regular sized door and heading into what had once been a study. Now it was just used for storage, and though it looked as though it would take a while for anyone to find anything in there, the old elf knew exactly where to find what he was looking for. He turned to the right and, without even looking, reached for a sturdy staff that was leaning against the wall.
"Right," he nodded, putting some of his weight onto the staff, "much better. Now ... brush ... and paint."
He rummaged around on a shelf until he came up with a small brush and a tiny bottle of brush ink (until now, used only for images). He tucked them into his cloak and left the old study again, closing the door behind him. Using his staff as a walking stick, he headed towards the tower once again.

Gion returned the flask to his bag and gave Nadya's hand a reassuring squeeze, then turned back to the others.
We should be there in two days or so, he informed them, fingers flickering quickly. Of course, it would depend a lot on Nadya and Mia, since they were most likely to be the least experienced travelers on the journey, and would therefore be the ones to set the pace. Still, having taken the portal here instead of riding had saved them four weeks, so perhaps they didn't need to be in as much a hurry as they had been at first.

Lin watched as they made thier way towards the tower once again, she had never seen a room so cluttered before. Well unless one included the storage for the basement.
Yue nodded at that, "Okay, we just left really so we should be fine."
He looked around the party to see how everyone else was faring. Mia seemed fine, but it was hard to tell with Mia... and how much things affected her depended on how human she was after all this time of being with them.
Mia kindly ignored her discomfort, if kind could be a word to be used for such an action, instead she focused on the manga she was reading. Alice was tucked in the crook of one arm, she had been walking and reading for a while. She was quiet to the point where some would forget her presence, just like people didn't tend to notice her in the desert. She preferred that,

"Please tell me you didn't bring your manga collection with you," Donovan noticed now that Mia was reading, why couldn't she read something with more writing and who got her hooked on the damn books anyhow?
He wouldn't be surprised if she did, one could fit nearly anything in there without additional weight.
