Zia and Maida took an airy air about them, as only crows can.
"They're doing just fine." "But thank you." "Its very kind of you to ask."
Storm rolled her eyes, and left. She didn't think that that was the best idea, but she figured that her daughters could handle themselves; it was Allen she was worried for.

The crow girls nodded exuberently.
"Of course!" "Who doesn't?" "Besides annoying jerks like you, we mean." "Shush now, Zia. He might give us a puppy!" "Oh, right."
Zia shut up. Both of the girls looked at Allen expectantly.

Allen smiled lightly, and sat cross-legged on the ground.
Allen: I found these not too long ago on a pillaging mission. Kibo doesn't know I kept them. It's the least I could do for almost killing you both.
He put his hands to the deck, and a large pool of shadows flowed from them. He dipped both hands into the pool, pulling out a large open-top crate, filled with yipping puppies peeking over the side at their prospective masters.
Allen: Pick your favorites.

Soon enough Zia and Maida's arms were full of licking and yipping puppies and the crate was empty.
"Thank you, thank you!" "Yesyes, thank you veryvery much!"

For some reason, this seemed to amuse the girls to no end.
"Silly boy..." "...We can't die." "Didn't you know?"
Zia and Maida laughed all the louder.

Through a series of tricky back streets and simply walking faster (an unknown occurrence with the very much lassiez-faire drow) Storm managed to be aboard her Death Wind several minutes before Melanie. Consequently, she was sitting on the railing, peeling a blood orange and looking quite amused with herself while she waited for Melanie to grace her deck with the human's appearance.

The sound of Storms footsteps faded into the background, then finally, couldn't be heard at all. Though Melanie was tempted to look behind her to inquire Storm where she was going, she clutched the hilt of her sword, her knuckles turning white.
After a few more minutes Melanie had reached the dock, and immediatly recognized Storm's ship because there she was herself, sitting on the railing, and peeling an orange. What looked like a smug expression graced the captains face. Melanie sighed as she walked up the walkway and aboard the ship.

Storm smiled in greetings to her newest crew member.
"Lieutenant Leto is below, second deck. Talk to him; he'll assign you to your gun team. Enjoy your freedom while you can, Mel; it won't come close to lasting under me."
She grinned cookedly.

Melanie rolled her eyes, and walked past Storm to the stairs that lead to the second deck. Melanie then made her way down the rickety stairs, glaring as she passed the other crew-members who stared at her. Finally she found Lieutenant Leto, and as Storm promised, she was assigned to a pack of ruffians, and each one fit the sterotype of a pirate. Except....something seemed....almost different about them; One of the pirates had red eyes and pale skin, while the others just seemed strange. "Hmph." Melanie muttered, glancing quizzically at her crew mates while they began to teach her how to load and fire a cannon. Then as Melanie retreated to find the water pitcher, the pirate with the strange eyes smiled, revealing pearly whites....and more. Melanie gulped in fear as she noticed two of his teeth were longer and sharper than the others. "What?!" Melanie thought to herself in distress as she pulled out her gun, pointing it at him. After what seemed like hours, Melanie finally stumbled up the stairs back to the first deck and looked around for Storm.

[Vampires?...Interesting twist.]
Storm glanced up from the map she was currently bent over, at the ever wise nudge from her second in command, Stilgar. She gave him an annoyed look, before following the line of his pointing arm to a drained, and pale looking Melanie.
"What do you want? We're about to cast off."

"Ya know, before recruiting people, you should at least give them a warning to the fact...." Melanie stormed over to where Storm stood, totally ignoring the other man standing next too her."That there are VAMPIRES aboard your boat!" Frusteration rang out in her voice as she nearly shouted the last statement.
