Yuugi opened his eyes at the sound of droplets of water hitting the floor downstairs. He then heard Marik say something about familiar faces. At the mention of this Yuugi looked up to his threatener and narrowed his eyes a little. "Dont hurt them" he said lowly.

Marik caught sight of Yuugi's eyes and laughed, quietly as he could keep it. The mouse was trying to hiss back at the cat? Priceles. "Or what, vessel? I was thinking that perhaps I could let them join in on our fun... you wouldn't enjoy that?" He smirked, his tongue flecking out to lick at his own lips. "I think that it would be a pleasure to have some company..." He then began to walk Yuugi backwards, his own body pressing against Yuugi's and forcing it to take steps. At the sound of footsteps on the stairs his smirk only widened, accompanied by a wild look in his eyes. "Yes, any moment now you'll have a little audience for your final performance." The pulse of the shadows within him was growning stronger. Stronger... meaning the other being was coming closer... closer...
Jou stopped suddenly on one of the steps, listing intently to the sounds of the shop around them. There was nothing but the sound of rain falling outside and the occasion thunder now, but he could have sworn there had been something else. "Bakura..." he started to walk again and then reached out and put a hand down on Bakura's shoulder from behind. "You hear that?" They were close to the top of the steps now, the upper level of the building looking a little too dark for his liking.

Bakura furrowed his eyes, frowning and then quickly rushed forward and pushed the door open. The second he opened the door Bakura froze and couldn't help but just stare at what was in front of him.

Yuugi narrowed his eyes some more but didnt say anything. He then heard something behind him, but his back was facing it, so he only could move his head the best he could. Only then could he catch a glimpse of white hair. His eyes widened and he quickly turned his head to look at Marik with curiousity, wondering what he would do now.

"Aaah..." Marik's smirk broke out into a full-fledged grin, exposing all of his teeth along with some very pronounced canines. The grin was sharp looking, somehow dangerous in that way that everything he did seemed dangerous. It was a risk just to be looked at by Marik. "The tomb robber! The scourge of the desert, the pharoh's most hated enemy... the one I sent into oblivion. Bakura." He then spotted another form behind Bakura's and chuckled, his head tilted to one side. "And it would seem that you have aquired a pet since coming back from your banishment, now haven't you? Your own dog. What a pleasure to be seeing you all again..." He was curious to how Bakura had found his way back among the living, but it wasn't his number one priority at the moment. He could always hunt down and take care of the thief later, after he was finished with Yuugi and Atemu.
"Hey...!" Bakura had run right out of Jou's grip on his way up the stairs. "Hold on a..." he hurried to catch up, stopping right behind Bakura when he got to the top of the stairs and then giving him a confused look. "What're you..." and then he stopped. He had turned his head to see what Bakura had stood gawking at, and then found himself gawking as well.
No, no... Marik was supposed to be gone. Yami no Yuugi had banished him a long time ago in Battle City. Jou had been there and had seen it with his own two eyes. What was left of that peice of Malik's soul had desintigrated and vanished, and ever since then he had been gone... gone... why was he back here now!? What did he want to do? Jou began to remember their last duel against eachother in the finals, he pain he experianced everytime one of his monsters had bene defeated... the moment where the world faded, altered, and blurred when he had attempted to call his own, last, final attack...
"... What are you doing here?" He had to force himself to speak, his voice sounding strained. There was also something else flaring up inside of him now, overriding the sickness of old fear. Anger. Anger at what Marik had done to him, anger at what he had done to Yuugi, to Malik, and to everybody else... and it was then that his blood seemed to turn to ice. He had just seen Yuugi. "What... what are you doin' to him!? Yuugi!"

Bakura shook his head a bit he was lost in a mix of shock and actual fear. Marik was someone Bakura had never wanted to hear from or see ever again because of all the things that had happened to him after he'd lost that duel on the blimp. Insinctivly Bakura took a step backwards from the preditor. "No...you shouldn't be here..." This was one of the very few times in Bakura's exsistence that his face was actually showing the fear that he was feeling inside.
((Weeee, frightened bakura, if this OOCness displeases anybody I can change it))

Yuugi tried to look behind him again, but only saw white hair once more. He heard Jounouchi's voice and froze slightly. He whipped his head back towards Marik with fear for his friend. "dont..." he whispered but couldnt finish his sentence, for his throat clenched up dryly.

The looks on both Bakura and Jou's faces was not lost on Marik. Oh, this was going to be fun, wasn't it? "What, no warm welcome? No smiles, no waving banners? I feel I should be hurt..." He shook his head, then looking down at Yuugi and tilting his head to one side. "Don't... what, little vessel?" He looked up again then, locking eyes with Bakura. The other's fear was like nectar to him, thick and sweet. He nearly purred at the pleasure of seeing it. True, Yuugi had been afraid, but Bakura was one of those people who ever rarely showed the emotion. That made it much more enjoyable. "Is there anything in particular you two needed...?" He asked, voice a low and decievingly soft whisper.
"Bakura...?" Jou had turned his head to look at his companion after he had spoken. To Jou's surprise, Bakura actually looked... frightened. Scared. Jou had never seen him this way before. It was... completely unnerving. "A-actually, yeah..." the blond took a breath to steady his voice. He wasn't going to be afraid of some stupid spirit. "Let Yuugi go!"
Marik tilted his head back and laughed, breaking eye-contact with Bakura momentarily before looking forward again and reinstating it. His eyes were dark, and if one looked hard enough they might just be able to grasp glimpses of swirling shadows within their depths. The entrancing gaze of the viper, hunting, backing its prey into a corner... "But i'm most certainly not done with him yet..."

Bakura swallowed and he shook very slightly when Marik locked his eyes on his own. Hearing Jounouchi's voice helped someone to bring him back and he shock his head lightly. Finally Bakura mustered up his strength to speak again and tried to keep his voice as steady as possible. "L-let the midget go Marik h-his life belong to me, I'll kill him whenever I want to! Y-you hear me?!" Bakura still felt that these things were owed to him because of the loss of his village but he was just basically trying to also make it look like he hadn't gone soft at all; especially in the enemies eyes.

Yuugi moved his eyes to the side slightly, trying to get more of a veiw then white, but it didnt work. Finally, he just kept his eyes on Marik. He wondered if he would actually let go of him. That would suprise him, but also make him much more relieved. Doubting that Marik would let him go he kept his hopes low.

"If you had wanted a peice of him this badly, my little thief, you should have gotten here to claim him sooner. He's mine now..." He took his eyes away from Bakura and looked to Jounouchi now, a smirk upon his lips. "Which means that your heroics are wasted here too, i'm afraid. Go home and play with your cards... perhaps after a bit of practice, a single duel wont be enough to kill you." While Marik continued to converse with the other two in the hallway, he had begun to move. The hand around Yuugi's waist quickly grabbed into his free wrist, pulling it down along with the other (fish and all) so that they barely touched. Suddenly, shadows darker than night formed between the two appendages, wrapping their way around them until they had encircled both. It was like rope, although stronger. Magic that could only be broken with magic.
Jou's eyes had gone wide when Bakura mentioned killing Yuugi, but he ignored it for the sake of what was going on around him. Would Bakura really kill Yuugi...? In the back of his mind, Jou had known Bakura had wanted to. The former tomb robber had always had it out for Yuugi and his spirit companion. But Jou had been able to forget for awhile that that was really the case...
When Marik had mentioned playing with his cards, Jou wasn't going to stand it anymore. No one threw punches at his pride like that! He was Katsuya Jounouchi, damn it! "Stupid b*****d!" He yelled, moveing forward suddenly in an attempt to take Marik down.
Marik had just moved Yuugi to the side when Jou began coming. He didn't even flinch. "So impulsive... Bakura must have fun with you." He lifted a hand when Jou had just gotten within a few feet of him, summoning the shadows with a flick of his wrist. They came from various sources around the hallway, the exact locations not exactly clear. A barrier was formed within just a few seconds, a translucent purple for a moment before becoming clear; invisable.
Jou's eyes had gone wide when he saw what was happening, but he hadn't any idea exactly what Marik was doing. He just kept on coming forward, determined to get to Marik... but unfortunately for him, he never made it. The barrier cut him off, sending a shock of what felt like electricity through his system and sending him flying backwards in the hallway.
"Poor fool..."

Bakura cringed a bit and felt himself get a little sick at Marik's comment 'Bakura must have fun with you.'
"Jounouchi!" Bakura yelled and reached out to try and grab him back when he heard Marik speak again. Bakura didn't care about if he showed feeling for Jounouchi, he was his lover afterall and Bakura cared very much if anything happened to the blond.

Yuugi looked down to his hands. Desperatly he tried to pull free but it wouldnt budge. He then heard Jou and then a sound of buzzing like electrity. He flung his head in the direction, seeing a glimpse of Jou flying way from him. Yuugi's eyes widened. "JOU!" he yelled in fear before looking back to Marik.
"Stop it! Dont hurt him!" he yelled, his voice trembling ever so slightly.

Jou thought he heard his name shouted out at him, but he couldn't concentrate on it. He was a little busy trying not to fall over as he went backwards, away from Marik's shield. He ended up tripping over his own two feet though and fell back onto his bottom, right back beside Bakura where he'd started. "...Ow..." His whole body was tingling from the shock of the sheild; just a little sharper then what you get when a part of your body falls asleep.
Marik laughed, the sound deep and seeming to fill the entire hallway. "So much fuss over one little dog!" He turned to Yuugi then, taking the boy's chin in his hands and making sure that they were looking eye to eye. "You, I would expect it from... the sentimental little nit that you are... but no..." he slowly, slowly turned his head towards Bakura now, "...not you, thief of souls. I wouldn't have expected that look in your eye, just a moment ago... so intriguing. What have I missed, wallowing in the shadows of my prison? Have you possibly gone soft, my old friend?" He shook his head in an almost disaproving way, keeping Yuugi's chin still locked in his grip. "Oh, and you..." he glanced back down at Yuugi, voice becoming low. It no longer resounded off of the walls, but still held power enough for it to be heard all around. "... you should know that your orders mean nothing... you are the one to bow down to me. Not the other way around. I serve no pharoh, nor any pharoh's hollow shell."

Bakura growled, trying to put up a front so that the panic and fear in him couldn't be seen. Even though he could feel himself getting physically sicker every time Marik made a negative comment towards him but more so when he aimed the comments at Jounouchi. "S-shut up!" was all that bakura could muster up to say at that point.
