“Only Kai and me left huh?” Diana thought to herself. She loaded her marker and found Kai hiding behind a soda can-shaped bunker. She hid in a pyramid bunker and waited for him to check and she will fire. 5 minutes were all she needed to peek out, shoot and win. Again. She always wins her exercises. So shooting Kai, who was technically a good beginner but still a beginner, wont be too hard at all.
...now where did she go?
The slate-haired teen last spotted his red-eyed companion around a minute ago; after the last player was eliminated - besides Diana and himself - he'd lost sight of her. Though he wanted to check the surrounding areas, he couldn't do it, not without risk of getting eliminated. Greater distance might help... he thought, glancing around and spotting a similarly-situated bunker just a few feet away. He could probably get to the second bunker without being seen. He counted down from three, then hurried over to the it, checking if his marker was loaded once hidden from view.
-----------------------------
"Kei, are we through here?" Ruri piped up suddenly, complete with a bored expression followed by a lingering yawn. This caused the brunette to turn away from the stadium - though she still managed to catch her blade - and smile apologetically.
"Gomen, Ruri... but I promise, I'm almost done. I just need to test this new move, okay?" So saying, she jumped off the platform and retrieved her bag, got something from inside it, and returned with an extra launcher, ripcord, and Beyblade in her hands. These she gave to Hiromi. "Can you help me test it, Hiromi?" she asked as she did so. The auburn-haired girl blinked, surprised.
"Me?" When Kei nodded, Hiromi hesitatingly took the proffered items and moved to the opposite end of the dish. "You sure about this?" she called, even as she took up a ready stance, arms held out in front of her, grip on launcher and the ripcord as firm as she could manage.
"Yes, I'm sure," Kei replied, also readying herself. "I know it works in theory; now I need to know I can pull the move off in practice. I'll launch first, then you aim directly for my blade; one hit is all I need." Hiromi nodded once, then yanked the ripcord as soon as her friend's blade began to spin steadily a little off to the center of the stadium.
It was over in minutes, though; the minute the two blades collided and Kei gave the command to switch tactics - or moves, as it were - Gogyou went into its weaving figure-eight movements, then, at another command from Kei, knocked Hiromi's blade out. Kei smiled, pocketing her blade. "All right; there are still some glitches but overall, its okay." Then she turned apologetic. "Sorry for making you guys wait for me..."
"Its all right," Nia offered. "We know how you feel about Beyblading, so seeing you work at one technique like this is...less boring than it seemed at first."
"Oh, right; getting almost hit in the head by an out-of-control top is fun..." Ruri chimed in jokingly.
"Hey! I told you to duck, at least," Kei retorted, playing along while Hiromi chuckled in the background as she gathered the others' bags; Kei already held hers anyway. "I could have let Gogyou hit you, you know..." The amethyst-eyed teen pushed open the door and stepped out of the training room, her friends close behind.
"What? Kei, you-"

Diana heard a sound of someone running and peeked out. No one. But then something hit her. A bunker was behind another bunker. But there were several more with that kind of position. Some on the left of her front or right. She needed luck now. Which one to choose…and which one is Kai hiding from?
Marker loaded... helmet still secured... no broken balls in the barrel... squeegee in place... Yes, he was ready. Diana may be the expert in this game... but I'm not going down that easy... Kai thought. In a prone position, he crept forward until he could just poke his head out, which he did to get a quick survey of his immediate surroundings, then pulled back, just in case. He did not want to get hit in the face, never mind that he had a helmet and all that.
-----------------------------
Miki was tired from waiting and decided to make something for her brother. It won’t harm to go outside for the moment. Just to buy some things to get her brother something to eat when he gets home. Miki opened the door and took the keys, went outside to get some food from the store.
“Well, that wasn’t too hard.” Miki smiled. She bought only a few things but it was enough. Wheat bread, a small pack of mayo, cucumber and small chicken tenders. There were tomatoes and lettuce in the refrigerator so she had everything she need. She quickly went back inside and locked the door because she knew her brother will get worried if she went off by herself.
Deciding to make yet another meal, she rolled up her sleeves and went to put back the yellow apron she once wore.
-----------------------------
Houka pushed open the door marked 'exit' and went out of the department store, at the same time resting the knuckles of her left hand on her left shoulder so that the bags containing her purchases - a sweatshirt with striped sleeves, a dark blue turtleneck halter, and two pairs of arm warmers - hung down at her back.
She went back to the corner she last remembered turning and retraced her steps on that street. This was the hard part - going where she'd come from when she hadn't even been paying that much attention. The sea green-eyed girl had decided to go back to the apartment complex, and then find her way to the BBA headquarters from there. She needed to work on her technique, and since she didn't have anything to do, she deemed it the perfect time to do so.
So...which way now? Left...or right?

After around ten seconds, Kai peered out again, this time daring to stay in that slightly vulnerable position for more than a few seconds. No paintballs coming his way. Still, he went back and switched positions; maybe he couldn't see the brunette because she would be coming from the opposite direction.
Sure enough, he saw a dark blue-clad shape make its way to a tunnel-like bunker and shelter in it. He hunched up a bit - he wasn't all that comfortable lying on his belly like a snake when firing - so that he was on his elbows and knees. He could move back and forth more quickly in that position, anyway. Then, he changed his mind; he could get a clearer shot from his earlier vantage point, so he faced the opposite direction again, exposing his let just a bit before going back into 'hiding'.
Diana had enough of hiding. She stood up and ran to the right bunker in front of her, trying to advance. She continued to advance until she felt a small plucking sound. She saw near where her foot would have been was a red paintball already cracked open, the liquid inside already splattered the field. “He must be near.” Diana dove under a tunnel-shaped bunker and laid low until she carefully peeked to check where Kai was located from.
There! Kai smirked when he saw Diana come out, even just partially. He noted that she was aiming for his leg. Acting quickly, he straightened up a bit, took a split-second to aim, and fired off a round.
Diana noticed a small black portion coming out of the bunker and smirked. “Now I have you,” She said in victory and she peeked out to fire. But that peek proves to be useless. Because the moment she fired the trigger, she saw a paint ball hurtling toward her and she ducked. Before she knew it, a big splatter of red was visible on her chest.
'Splat!
Kai glanced down and frowned, disappointed. He'd been hit, just a little below the ribcage, if the orange 'stain' was any indication. So much for coming out unscathed.

“Well Waddaya know” Diana smiled inwardly to herself. Someone actually beat her or…tied with her in paintball. One thing she loved was a worthy opponent. She stood in full view, removed her mask which in turn let loose her long dark hair. She raised her head up high and raised both her arms. The surrender rule. She had been hit.
Spike blinked at the person who was raising both his arms. It was Diana! Did it mean that someone beaten her? But then, he looked at the tape and saw both players were hit at the same time. Grinning, he gave a thumbs up to Diana and clicked on the monitor to announce that it was a draw.
As it was Kai's first time, he had no idea what to do now that he'd been hit. So once more, the slate-haired teen found himself taking his cues from Diana. She stood out in the open, and had bothe arms raised. This he did as well, also removing his mask. Despite having tied with someone, he had to admit that it had been an engaging activity. He made a mental note to bring Miki when they next had free time. Never mind that he wasn't so sure on whether or not his twin would enjoy the sport.

Diana smirked and went to Kai, her helmet clutched to her left hand. “Guess you got me huh, congratulations. You are officially the first person to ever shot me in the vitals. Heh, good thing it wasn't a real gun you were holding,” Diana held out her hand, in thanks for a good game.
Kai, too, was smirking, even as he gripped Diana's hand in a firm handshake. "I'd say the same to you. About not using a real gun, that is." Briefly, he indicated the splatter of orange on his lower torso. Then he stepped back, the handshake already broken off by that time, and began making his way to the exit. "I'm gonna change now," the slate-haired teen called over his shoulder. "Not that I don't trust you and your abilities, Diana, but I'd like to personally make sure Miki is all right."
With that, he pushed the door open and went back to the changing room he'd used earlier, retrieved his things, then swung the door shut and began to change back into his street clothes.
-----------------------------
"So... is there anywhere else you want to go?" Kei asked in between licks at her blueberry ice cream cone. After Kei's training, Ruri had suggested they pass by their favorite ice cream store, which they did. And now they were in the park, rollerblading again, if only through the shaded areas. Then, quite suddenly and without waiting for any of her companions to answer, the brunette blurted out, "I know! How about you three drop in for a 'visit' - maybe even a night over? I already said my parents are out, but I'm sure it'll be okay with them."
"...you sure? We're not bothering anyone or whatever?"
Kei shook her head. "Don't worry, Nia; in fact, I think the househelp will be happy to cook for a relatively large group this time. I rarely have friends over, so..."
"Hang on," Hiromi interjected, coasting to a stop and indicating a stone bench that sat in the shade of a ginko tree. "Lets talk about this a bit more before deciding anything, all right?" All three other girls followed her to the bench, and they all sat down.
"So... about the sudden invitation and all..."

Diana just smirked in reply and followed suit to change back to her street clothes. Sometimes Kai was very much like the overprotective big brother that she pictured him to be. She was done, she placed the jumpsuit near a table and went to where Kai was changing to wait for him. Spike could take care of her suit and gear. She just hopes Miki will be alright since she was all alone. But she had her energy lock on her. What could possibly happen to her?
Changed now, Kai came out, also leaving the jumpsuit where Diana had left hers, then placing the marker and other related gear on the table itself. Then he turned to face the brunette, one hand again shoved in his pants pocket. "Well? You coming, or am I going to have to drag you along?"
-----------------------------
Miki sneezed a bit. Was someone talking about her? Oh well. She took out the things she just bought. She went to the fridge to take out the tomatoes and lettuce. Placing them both on the table, she took out a knife and cutting board and started to chop the lettuce leaves, a tomato and cucumber. She cut a hotdog shaped loaf from the bread and set them aside.
Taking the chicken tenders, she took out an egg, cracked it and placed its contents on the bowl. Using a fork, she lightly beat it until she was satisfied with its consistency. Taking out a frying pan, she heated the stove on low heat and carefully placed a small amount of oil on top and waited for it to heat up. While she was waiting, she took the chicken and carefully dips them in the egg mix. Once finished, she carefully placed them on the frying pan.

Diana’s head suddenly had a large vein popping out. “Don’t make me leave you here,” She snarled and grabbed his wrist tight and snapped her fingers. And both were back at the apartment, standing behind the door to Kai’s apartment. Sighing mentally in boredom, she went to Kai and said “You wanted to see Miki is fine, so here we are Mr. Patience.”
There it was again. The creeping darkness, the sudden cold that hugged one's entire body, then nothingness. You couldn't see anything, and then suddenly light would burst through the cloudy blackness, and you had to blink several times to re-orient yourself. The thing is, by the time you saw light again, you were in another place.
That was the closest Kai could come to describing Diana's little teleportation ability. It was quick, yes, but it was also a bit unnerving. He was getting used to it - this was the third time the brunette had used it on him - but still.
...and apparently, he wasn't the only one who couldn't take a joke - according to Takao. Kai shrugged both of Diana's comments off. "Hn. Aren't you going to come in, though? I believe you, too, want to check on Miki..." Well, it sounded better than 'I think Miki will be glad to see us walk in together', or some such similar thing.
-----------------------------
Houka sighed, then pushed through the door and into the main hallway of the BBA headquarters. It had taken quite a while - and a few wrong turns, or what she felt were wrong turns - but she'd finally made it to her destination.
As she walked down the corridor, she noticed how eerily quiet it was. Strange, really, seeing how close it was to the start of the tournament. The auburn-haired teen didn't know the exact date, or how many days she had to train before then, but it was safe - not to mention a bit beneficial - to assume that there was little time left; in a way, it pushed one to work harder to improve one's technique and such.
Another glance left, and then right, before Houka entered one of the smaller training rooms. She didn't mind it that she was training alone again; sometimes she felt uneasy when someone was in the room with her, watching her train. But then, there wouldn't be anyone she could test any newly-acquired blading skills again. Training alone, in this case, was both a boon and a bane, she guessed.
/"So its just you and I, Houka..."/ Medaea 'spoke' up, the s's prolonged, as she was wont to do when in a slightly teasing mood. /"Just like when we first met."/
The sea green-eyed girl gave a low, short laugh. /"Looks like it. Hope you don't mind, Medaea..."/
/"'Mind'?"/ Amused laughter. /"Child, when have I ever been uncomfortable with training alone? When have you ever been bothered by it?"/
/"That's true..."/ Houka returned. /"I just thought you wouldn't be too happy about it; I mean, you did get to go against another bit beast yesterday after so long..."/
-----------------------------
"So...its decided, then?" Kei began, getting up and stretching the kinks out of her back. Her companions nodded in assent.
"As soon as we get permission from our parents, I'll call you, and then we meet up back here at the park." Hiromi repeated what the four had agreed on - and yes, they were spending the night at Kei's house.
The brunette gave a small smile. "Yup! Meanwhile, I'll find a way to let the househelp know to expect company; they're not yet back, if memory serves correctly." With that, she bent over and tightened the fastenings for her roller blades. "Anyway...I'll see you in an hour or so, right?" There came the chorus reply of 'Yes!', then Kei, still with a small smile on her face, heading for a portion of the park's walkway that led to a street relateively closer to her house than any other streets the other park entrances and exits led to.

Diana just mentally rolled her eyes and forced a dark energy to unlock the door open. Only to smell something was frying. Diana felt her stomach curl. Man, she must have been really hungry all of a sudden. She stepped inside to find Miki, frying strips of chicken on a pan.
Miki looked at saw Diana and gave a smile “Oh, hello Diana. You’re here.” Miki was holding a plate of chicken and set it on the table, while going nearer to greet Diana. Until, she saw her brother beside her “Oniichan. Welcome back” and greeted him with a brief hug. “You both are just in time. I was making something in case Kai oniichan came back but I guess I was right to get more to make more than 4 sandwiches.”
Diana raised a brow “Sandwiches.” Miki smiled and went to sit on the table to do her work. Taking the wheat bread buns, she placed one chicken strip and placed some cucumber, tomato and lettuce pieces. Taking the cap of the bottle of mayo, she carefully squeezed a zigzag line on top of the chicken. She continued making until she managed to make around 8. Miki placed them all on a large plate and turned to both of them “You can eat them now if you wish.”
Diana shrugged and took out a sandwich and carefully took a bite. Wiping some mayo from her lips, she gave a smile to Miki “Tastes great. Healthy and tasty”. Miki just beamed in gratitude and looked at her brother “Don’t you want one, Oniichan?”
Kai nodded, giving his sister a brief smile - non-verbal thanks for preparing yet another meal - as he sat down opposite to Diana. He took one sandwich and bit into it, mindful of the mayo. He chewed thoughtfully, then swallowed. "Oishii da, Miki," he complimented. "You should eat as well, you know," the crimson-eyed blader added, indicating that she sit down, too.

She followed him to a closed dark room without even a window which made it pitch black. Keiji reveled his holy beast form a Komodo dragon giving some light to the room. Maria did so too giving a bigger light as she was lighting the whole room like a bulb.
“Maria There is something you want to tell and I know it’s best for me to be the one told.”
“What are you talking about?”
“You hardly talk I know there is something bothering you. Is there something to do with Kai Hiwatari?”
Keiji hit the right spot. She already knew her answer but had a strong hesitation. For a long time she has denied it ever since the second time they met. All the excitement was as if meeting a celebrity. It was all but and excuse to be stronger and change herself but ended up just pretending and she became worst than she was before. She wanted to change and get rid of her pride the fear of being shame about something she spoke most dear. Her heart battled against the forces of Lucifer. As if there was still some force of good that has survived helping her. She felt that letting go of the false beliefs would make her change for good and yet still being the same person. She was nervous but the truth strongly wanted to come out. “Keiji I want to be out of Boris’s organization.”
“I know. We know that your strong motivation is Kai Hiwatari and I know that the missions are too much for you. You are not fit for this kind of business, but you cannot go so easy”
“So what are you going to do kill me or capture me for an extensive study on binded souls?”
“You are my precious friend. Why would I do so?”
“Huh? What are you going to do spread the word I’m dead. Do you know anyone with the same face then offer her to him?”
“I know it’s tricky but at least you have me by your side. Meanwhile let’s think about it.”
“You know Keiji there’s something else. All those things I acted towards Kai it’s all infatuation maybe I’m not sure though”she said with a very unsure face.
{ I'll be free on Monday gaia time. Soon after we start the tournament. I have exams and sorry to say I need to not go here till then.}

Miki nodded and unrolled her sleeves, taking off the apron she wore. Deciding to clean up later, she went to the fridge and turned to look at both “You like Juice Oniichan? Diana?”
Diana, who was still eating, swallowed and replied “Got Orange?”. Miki nodded and took out a box of orange juice and pour into 3 glasses and set them all on the table. Miki took her seat next to her brother and gave a taste to her just made sandwich. “Now I am sure to use wheat bread from now on” Miki silently thought and she chewed softly.
Miki then raised the question “So, how was your day?”. Miki didn’t want to tell but she was rather eager to know what happened between her brother and her best friend. Do they like each other better? Or hate each other even more?
Kai let out a nearly inaudible "Thank you" when Miki set a glass of orange juice in front of him, took a sip, than bit into his sandwich once more. He swallowed soon enough, just when his sister posed her question. The slate-haired teen glanced briefly at Diana, giving a small smirk. "It was... all right," Kai replied slowly. He was unsure whether or not to share, even briefly, where he and the brunette had gone after meeting up at the park.

Miki blinked and gave a sign that she was unsatisfied with Kai’s answer. Diana just gave a wistful smile when Kai gave her a smirk “Miki, Kai just decided to hold a truce that’s it. Just, got to know each other more and you know. Things went by until Kai decided he wanted to check on you.”
Miki gave a soft “oh” and resumed her eating. Until something sparked “Diana…did you…just” But Diana managed to beat her to it “Yeah, yeah I don’t call him Hiwatari anymore. Well, he gave me his undying permission”. Diana spoke in a teasing voice that Miki almost giggled but she remained her composure. “Well, at least you don’t have to argue too much anymore.”
"'Have to'?" Kai shook his head slightly. Sometimes, Miki's choice of words could be a bit...questionable, but oh well. It was one of the things that was uniquely her. "In any case," he went on, deciding to 'build' on the red-eyed girl's most recent statement, "Diana also gave the go-ahead to start using her given name." With that, Kai reached out and just barely ruffled his twin's hair - hey, he'd been holding back since last night!. "And you worry too much about how people get along with each other..."
-----------------------------
Kei glanced around, blew some stray bangs out of her eyes, then leaned against the cool, rough bark of an elm tree. She was at the park, seated on the bench where it was agreed she and her friends would meet after the latter had gotten permission from their respective parents. It was almost an hour, and there was no sign of Ruri, Hiromi, nor Nia.
The brunette stared up at the patches of sky she could see through the gaps in the branches and leaves of the tree. No doubt about it: she was bored now, as she'd been waiting in the same spot for nearly fifteen minutes, and she'd conveniently forgotten her Mp3 player in her room when she left. c'mon, guys...get here already!

knocked back to one of the I-beams, Sho fell back to his knees. he peeled off the sticky strip on the bottom of the c-4. the merc came up and pinned him up on the I-beam starting to do a rapid punch combo. just taking the punches to stick the c-4 on the i-beam. once the c-4 was stuck, sho took the back side of his sword and hit his old commander. the merc gagging took a few steps back. the sparks lighting the room from the the blades grinding each other into nothingness could not help sho with out shinja. trying to find the c-4 and pillars with echolocation could not help with a screaming merc and a major bey battle under way. "sho help!" breaking off the attack sho hit a block up at empty (name of sho's sword). bouncing off the side of the blade making a perfect ting hitting an i-beam. kneeling from the sound of the sword, John covered his ears and Rokubee wobbled a little. sho flicked his blade listening to the pain of his opponents. sho got a feeling of extreme pleaser listening to the screams of his enemy. walking to the i beam that the the c-4 hit, Sho hit his forehead in the grove. with out filnching Sho reached down to grab the block beating empty against the i-beam. pealing off the sticky sheet sticking it to the beam. as Shinja ate rokubee and put the another c-4 block. Shinja joined Sho, looking at the red headed merc commander. thinking to shinja "lets" looking over to a thing of cable. rolling over the cable to the i-beam. the merc was starting to come out of the fit. kicking him back to the i-beam, sho fell from being tired. shinja used her bey blade as a gear to turn the cable loose as she wrapped him up to the i-beam. finding the last block, sho pick it up, walked over to the merc, and jammed it so hard into his mouth to the point that he coul not diss louge it himself.

Miki, instead of getting annoyed, just gave a light blush visible on her cheeks “Why can’t I be worried Big brother, why you yourself won’t stop telling me to take over my own life then when I am alright here all alone, you practically came to check up on me.”
Diana snickered “She’s got a point, Kai”. Miki drank a portion of her juice and gave a smile. She has her way with words sometimes.
Though what Miki had just said was true, Kai wasn't fazed. "Simple. I promised our parents - especially Okaasan - that I'd take care of you, and that's exactly what I'm doing. Your taking control of your life is a different matter entirely, Miki." Okay, so he was back to being at least partially rational, as compared to how 'emotional' he'd been since reuniting with Miki. Though a somewhat nice change in behavior - not that he'd admit such a thing - he found that he was more comfortable with his 'rational, almost-emotionless' self.
Ah, well.
-----------------------------
Houka smirked as she bent down to catch her blade, which came spinning up the slope and straight into her palm. The auburn-haired teen saw no practical use in letting the blade knock itself out of the stadium for one to catch, not while it was just a training session.
/"What do you say to another round, Medaea?"/
Quiet laughter again, as though Medaea were an adult and found her partner's questions a tad amusing. /Houka, we can practice as much as we want! You know I don't tire easily..."/
Sea-green orbs shone; it was obvious the blader was enjoying her training - and bantering with her bitbeast. /"Okay, then; let's go!"/
-----------------------------
"Kei!"
At the sound of her name being called, Kei glanced up, not noticing that she'd nearly fallen asleep on the bench while waiting for Hiromi and the others. And speaking of which, that was them coming up the path! The brunette perked up and waved. "Hey! Took you guys long enough!"
"Well, what do you expect?" Ruri shot back, pretending to look overly burdened by the backpack she was carrying. "We still had to pack our things, you know; and by the way, not everyone lives within a fifteen-minute bicycle ride from the park."
Kei chuckled. "Heh. True. Anyway, do you three want to rest for a bit before heading for home?" She could see that Ruri and Nia, at least, looked a bit tired from the walk. Not surprising, since they lived quite far from downtown Tokyo as compared to Hiromi, who lived in an apartment building with her parents - the girl was an only child, so they didn't really need a lot of space. Besides, space was a premium in Japan, and apartments were the norm, no matter how many members there were in one family.
As expected, both Ruri and Nia sank down onto the bench, setting their respective bags on the ground near them. "Yeah..." Nia said, "just for five minutes. Then we'll go."
"All right..."
