Ami smiled at the proffered gift, but shook her head.
It's tempting Tenkyl, but my mother taught me not to.

Sunstrike Tomorrow John cuddled Juuni to him as he stood, looking over to Amber with a small smile as he cocked his head over to Mere. "This guy was the one who got me out of jail, sweetheart. Name's Mere. Henry Mere. He's...well, i suppose government agent is the closest i could get without any real information to be based on." He looked over at Mere pointedly, before hefting Juuni in his arms a little, cuddling her again before placing her on the ground and patting her head.... Standing, he placed a hand on Amber's shoulder, smiling to her as he spoke. "Mere, meet my fiance and partner, Amber. She's an expert on runeology. She'll be tagging along."He didn't ask. He said he was allowed any equipment he wanted - and whilst Amber didn't fall into the specific catagory of 'equipment', the two men never really did specifiy what equipment there were allowed to bring. Thinking of it now, perhaps John should have taken the bazooka...before dismissing the idea as foolish. He wasn't that stupid. Henry made a slight bow to the woman, accepting the decision of the man almost ridiculously easily. "Greetings Amber." Purely Jayney Amber blinked at John before turning back to look at Mere, her eyes narrowing slightly as she sniffed the air again, one hand still placed subconsciously upon her stomach. She cocked her head to the side and smiled briefly. "Well then Mr. Mere, it would appear that I have a lot to thank you for..." Deep blue eyes smiled at her, though the expression on his face was serious. "No thanks needed, and please, call me Henry, unless that makes you uncomfortable." He shrugged and then turned back to Tomorrow. "We'll need to head out towards the mountains, know the way? We'll probably skirt orc territory by taking the travel route through the forest." Suddenly he laughed sardonically. "Well, I say travel route, but really it's not anything of the sort. Just an old game trail I use from time to time. Are you ready?" Looking him over, Henry was hard pressed to see anything about the taller man that wasn't prepared for a world war, let alone a bit of a hike. "Silly question, isn't it?" John said with a grin, replacing the sunglasses to his face and lifting Juuni up over his head so she was seated on his shoulders, his hands placed on her thighs to keep her steady way above the ground. Turning to Amber, he smiled down to her and kissed her cheek softly. "I'm gonna stay like this for a while...you'll know when Tomorrow comes out, alright?" He said, pretty much confirming that, if he got cold, something bad was about to happen. He looked back over to Mere and smirked. "Should we make arrangements for a ride, or will we be walking as you tell us what this is all about?"

Yamisetsuna Ami smiled at the proffered gift, but shook her head. It's tempting Tenkyl, but my mother taught me not to. Told you not to what?*One ear lowers as the other stays perked up. He then thwaps the mouse again. The little thing just isn't learning to shut up*

Ami struggled to find the words, having not thought of it before.
Err. My mother told me not to act like my cat compels me to. That my instincts were not good behavior. She taught me to behave like a lady. I don't always listen to her though."
Ami smiled as she thought of the trouble she gave her mother's fits everytime she got into a fight.

*Tenkyl just kind of blinks and drops the mouse. The poor little thing runs away litl a bat out of hell. Not listen to your instincts? Don't be a cat?. Very unfamiliar concepts to Tenkyl*
Why... why would your mother tell you NOT to be something that you are? You are part cat, why not act like it? And why would anyone tell someone not to listen to their instincts? Instincts keep us alive

Ami, a little confused but indignant, snapped back a little harshly.
Where I'm from, halfbreeds like me are beaten and killed. I had to hid what I was.

*Tenkyl's ears flatten a little, then raise back up*
Well you don't need to worry about that anymore. They don't attack you for that here or anywhere else I've been to. And if they try to, I will stop them...

Ami smiled at his statement.
Hmm so you'll protect me? Well, I'll try to relax a bit, but old habits and all that such. I really wanted to play with that mouse back there.

She blushed and twitched her tail appreciatively, but shook her head.
No t'is quite all right Tenkyl. I'm sure I'll catch my own eventually. I've been told to go look at the Adventurer's Guild to find a job. You have any ideas?

The Adventurer's Guild?
*His ears twitch a bit as he thinks*
No, I don't think I can help you there. I just arrived in town a bit ago and have just been looking for food

Ami's heart fell. So much for finding a friend familiar with the surroundings. She liked Tenkyl anyway.
Ah well. I'm pretty much doing the same. I came here to fight at the Stadium, but well...

Ya, that story is being spread all over town, though I havn't gotten a chance to go see it myself. Rumor has it that an odd brick made entire out of water has appeared by the main gate

Interesting information, but it doesn't change the fact that the reason I came is gone, but I'm here and I have to figure something out. I should probably go look for somewhere to sleep.

*He shrugs, not having really thought about sleep, yet*
I was just probably going to find a nice tree in the forest and crash there. Works for me
