The mods were the ones who began to encourage people to PM them. In the olden days, people used to communicate with the mods via this page. If you couldn't handle it, you should have thought of it before you took the damn job.

You need to realize that there are things seriously wrong with the way the mods manage Gaia. You need to realize that things have to change. You need to do the work to change it because you and your friends accepted the job as mods. You knew it was difficult, and if you can't handle it then you need to step down.[ The "you" here is general and not necessarily directed at you. I am aware that you stepped down, but you are not the only one that should, IMO.]



Has anyone in Gaia heard of an automated response system? They are easy as hell to code. That might help.



When the stress gets too high for you to handle, you need to step down.

Do the mods realize that no one is pointing a gun to their head and making them do all that work?



And I repeat, the mods who can't take it without becoming elitist pricks need to quit. Because they are obviously not moderator material. "The road to hell is paved with good intentions," I believe is how the saying goes.



Why are users the ones that act like children? We're not the ones that[ behave inappropriately and become viciously defensive when called on it.]

If you can't see why, then you should have never been a mod[, IMO]. Quite frankly. And if someone is complaining about the admins, the mods should be there to give them a face. That is another one of their roles; one which they consistently ignore.



Because they actually get it. They care about Gaia. All the mods seem to care about[, IMO,] is themselves.



Yeah. God forbid we should disagree with the way things are done. God forbid we should have opinions. God forbid we should give a s**t.

JoVo, I did step down.

You know, I wouldn't particularly LIKE having people piss and moan and b***h to me if I were a mod. And I don't know how the mods handle things, but it sounds to me like they overlook how much easier people are to handle when you treat them nicely. Telling people they're being childing and irritated doesn't really induce calm behaviour in people. All it takes is "Please" "Thank you" and clearly phrased messages. That's all you can do, if they're unreasonable after that then you can curtly tell them "I'm sorry, but I am unable to help you."

But then, maybe I "don't understand" because I've never been a mod on Gaia.

I have, however, been in real life situations where I was assigned a post and that entailed dealing with angry, ranting nutcases. Frankly, I'd think they're scarier and harder to handle in real life than on the internet. But, like I said, I don't know. The only time I was ever a mod was on a small forum where all the users were decent people and the atmosphere was "Be nice to everyone."

Today was a horrible day for me too. My mom's cousin was murdered, im grounded for bad grades, my parents know im gay because of porno on my computer, and one of my best friends is thinking of suicide... sad I am marking this day on my calendar as "evil day"

Its alright I guess. My parents have no problem with homosexuality, they have even gone to gay bars. I just didnt want them to find out that way.
