Peyton looked around, blinking wildly as he placed a hand over his leg. It didn't...it didn't hurt anymore. Everything was warm and...and almost cool feeling. He felt refreshed and-
Blue eyes sparkled slightly in their own light, or quite possibly it was simply the light magic flashing through his body. "Thank you," he murmured with a bashful sort of expression. It had been almost hard for him to accept that he wouldn't be able to heal on his own and yet now that it was over and that nearly unbearable pain was gone he figured that it was worth it.
Letting any extra magic dissipate back into the surrounding air, Ceris grinned at the blonde. He was glad that he could've helped the boy in the end, and yet none of this could've been reached had not it been for the storm dweller's mother. "Thank you very much for everything," he murmured before taking a step back, shaking off the pleasantly sun-kissed feeling that light magic seemed to create when envoked.
Haar looked relieved on both accounts. One, whatever magic the three had done, it had worked. Two, he possibly wouldn't have to track down an escort anymore, he figured the well-known healer along with her son's own expertise in teleportation magic would be enough that he wouldn't need one to get back home...that is, if Alti would agree upon leaving without their little chat about Xel.

"Right, well, that's done," she said, smiling for the first time. "Hmm... I should head back, but I'm deffinately not going to that luncheon..." Her frown returned and then she turned to Alti. "Anyway, Alti, what were you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be in the Kingdom of Ice?" He shrugged. "I miscalculated when I teleported and ended up here instead of home when I tried to return."

[[I had this whole post done and then my firefox went dead on me. TwT;;]]
Returning to Haar's side with an unreadable expression, Ceris asked something of the younger man and expressed also that he wanted Haar to make sure that Peyton rested a while before getting up. The young officer nodded, turning his gaze back to the trio, not allowing himself to watch Ceris leave the hall. He figured that once Allora left he'd organize some sort of brunch, seeing as it was almost noon and no one had eaten yet that morning.
Running a hand through dark lavender hair a few times, the young mage made his way down towards the guarded dungeon. He was slightly concerned that the men would be roused from their numbed sleep by now...and if that were the case Ceris wasn't sure if he could allow himself to talk, or even see, Xel. He just couldn't trust himself around the other. Opening the entry door to the damp prison, a wave of short-lived relief washed over the young man as he spotted three of men still unconscious. A door of bars to seperate them, Ceris watched with purple eyes as Xel tried to move his mostly nonresponsive fingers. It had always been in his nature...he couldn't let someone suffer, even if others felt that they should be treated as something less than human. Unlocking the dungeon door, Ceris closed it carefully behind him, locking it before he crouched down in front of the slightly older man. He knew Haar would be horribly displeased with him, but he didn't really care. Light still lingering on his finger tips, Ceris muttered a few healing spells under his breath, willing away minor cuts and bruises that littered his former friend's face with gentle fingers.
"You trust me?"
Ceris peered over his balcony with a sigh, watching with careful eyes as Xel pleaded with him. Xel was currently attempting to persuade the young mage into taking a leap, of faith more or less, over the balcony into his more than capable awaiting arms. "Of course I trust you," he answered in a calm, quiet voice, as to not wake up anyone else. "But-"
"Please? Just this once?" Xel was doing a very good job at persuading him with that pout, a mere mockery but the younger man knew that the warrior would never allow himself to joke around with anyone else besides him. They both knew that since Ceris had been newly appointed as a castle dweller that he couldn't quite associate with mere soldiers, no matter what their rank was. Even though Xel was a knight, a very high ranking soldier, and yet he was no general...and Ceris was forced by day to have nothing to do with him. They also both knew that Ceris's moves were being monitored for the most part and-
"Please Ceris?" He was begging by this point and only gave up his desperate whispers once the mage had sighed heavily and groaned out a just as heavy "Fiiine." It wasn't long before the younger of the two was safely on the ground, muttering to himself that he had no clue how in the world he as going to get back to his room. Xel waved off the other's fears with a careful grin. "Come on, I want to show you something," he murmured, taking the mage by the hand with a rather mschievious expression.
"Oh gods, what did you do?" Ceris whispered in a concerned, slightly exasperated, voice.
"Just trust me."
The battered man hadn't bothered to lift his eyes. Even though he thought the soft, slightly hesitant foot steps did not sound anything like the easily angered Haar he still didn't think much of it. It was probably a servant or guard of some kind sent to check on them. Looking up sharply as warm fingers melted away minor pain, Xel bit his tongue to keep him from choking on his very breath, using every bit of energy to lower his gaze once more. He was almost glad he couldn't move. Every time, no matter what the circumstances had been, every time he was near the light oriented mage the constant battle inside him just became all the worse. Haar was an idiot for assuming he was pure blood ice. Of course he had earth blood in him, half earth, half ice. It wasn't a good combination to say the least and adding Ceris's light qualities to the mix never helped either. One side of him made him simply want to curl around the younger one forever while the other half of him could not stand such warm heat.
The younger male smiled slightly, finishing his healing touches before questioning, "Are you hungry?" Xel would've laughed had he not just tried to kill Haar, as well as a few nobles, again the night before. "Sort of," his voice cracked slightly, as he watched Ceris stand up slowly, "I'll get you something then."

Faryn whisked open his quarters' door and with rapid strides found himself in his bedroom surveying the luggage his servants had packed. He approved; everything seemed in order. The only thing he needed now was... the bloodstone. Moving to a large glass case in the corner of his room, he removed his chain from his neck and flipped the bottom part of the pendant, revealing it to function as a key as well. It fit perfectly into the lock on the case. The case's door swung open and Faryn removed a small, jeweled chest from within. He slipped it into a pouch and tied it to his belt. He'd combine the stone with his pendant when the time was right.
The prince locked the case and exited his room. With a few last minute orders, he grabbed his traveling cloak and his servants took his bags through the more discreet route to the stables. Faryn distractedly took the main route. Unfortunately, no matter how big the castle was, his family members just had that annoying knack of finding him at the most inopportune moments.
"Have fun last night with your boyfriend, Fary?" a gay*, chuckling voice reached Faryn's ears. Muertian was sitting on the edge of the staircase's railing, happily blocking Faryn's path. "I heard you weren't so fond of my gift. I found it rather fitting, but then again... we always had different fashion senses." The younger prince shrugged, but flashed a mischievious grin. "For the final time, Muertian," Faryn hissed through gritted teeth, "Jillian is anything but my boyfriend. We aren't romantically involved whatsoever and for your information, I intend to keep it that way." Despite their arrangement, the eldest heir significantly doubted Jillian's capability to woo him. In fact, he significantly doubted that Jillain would even follow him anywhere. Muertian sneered. "You mean you're running away. I daresay you look fit for a trip, brother. But I don't recall father mentioning you were needed for any foreign diplomacy..." The sneer morphed into a knowing smile. "My King-to-be, a coward? Afraid of a little lovin, Fary? Come now; be sensible--" Faryn interrupted, ticked off. "My matters are none of your business, Muertian. None. And don't you dare speak to me about sense you irresponsible, promiscuous, littl--" "Well you're tight-assed, pompous, arrogant--" Muertian stopped suddenly, an evil little revelation hitting him. He grinned. "What's wrong, Faryn? He's gotten under your skin a little? I think you might lo--" Black eyes narrowed dangerously. "Don't you DARE utter that word around me," he spat with a sudden, hateful malice. From the typical bickering of the rivaling brothers, Muertian had crossed a line in the conversation that elicited an unusually intense response from Faryn. A single four-letter word. The same word that Jillian had oddly enough uttered to him the night before. But to hear Muertian say it... and that it would come from Faryn himself, reminded him of the unbearability of the thought. Loving someone. He didn't know how. "Just..." Faryn began, a little exasperated before deciding, "Get out of my way." He shoved Muertian to the side and proceeded down the stairs. "Talk to you later, Sunshine," he cooed sarcastically while backing off and heading down the passage from which Faryn originally came.
((*gay: in this case meaning happy. Like.. 'gaily'. Muertian's straight... I think. Whoooo knoooows? Tis a mystery. xD ))

[[-cheers for Muertian- XD]]
Hanging his feet over the side of the bed, Peyton tested out his leg as he gingerly slid off of his rather uncomfortable makeshift bed. Pulling covers with him as he slid slowly from the cot, the boy gaped softly at his own achievements. His leg didn't hurt at all, and it looked to be amazingly healed completely. Sometime in the night, early morning rather, Ceris had fetched a pair of short apnts for the blonde, ones that he could easily pull up far enough to examine his wound. Although thy were a bit blood stained by now the boy wasn't going to go out of his way to new clothes, even if he was in the presence of guests. Murmuring a soft thank you to Alti and his mother once more, the boy took slow careful steps towards his commander, disregarding the man's glare.
"Peyton...Ceris said he wanted you in bed," the young man explained, placing a hand on the boy's head as he frowed. The blonde quickly stomped one foot against the wooden floor, a just as heavy frown creasing his light features, "I'm fine now...and besides...I'm hngry," he added, his expression softening back to an almost blank one.
Haar sighed, letting his hand fall back to his side, fingers grazing his sword. "Fine. I guess it wouldn't hurt to have you around when I explain what happened last night to Ceris," the young man said, hoping the mage's wrath wouldn't be too vengeful.

Alti looked up immediately. "You're forgetting something, no? Weren't you going to tell me as well?" His tone was sharp - there was no way he would let the other forget his agreement. He frowned, tucking overly-long band behind one ear, although they slipped out almost immidiately. Allora was frowning, completely disreguarding their conversation. "Edward, stay off you leg. It might be healed, but the bone will be weak until the healing can come into full effect. If you stamp your foot one more time, I may have to strap you down to your bed and spoon feed you myself," she said forcefully, her expression stern. She obviously took it upon herself to "mother" anyone who had ever been her pacient.
**
After some time, Jillian left the dungeon. He needed to think... but it was day time now and the castle would be busy... He frowned softly and headed back for the pond. He couldn't risk standing on it, but he could think some... He stood by the small lake. He had searched for stones on his way and now had a nice handful of perfectly round, flat grey stones, which he skipped one-by-one across the water. Tea with Faryn and Treza wasn't for some time...

[[Allora's so motherly, it's so cute. X3]]
Peyton sighed heavily, returning to his bed, careful not to put too much pressure on his previously afflicted leg. Merely sitting on the cot's edge, he looked up with a forced grin, hoping the woman would be appeased. "I will keep off it," he reassured her, folding up his leg under him as he leaned back a bit. Turning his strikingly bright blue gaze towards Haar, Peyton frowned. "Well, then you'll just have to have breakfast in here because no way am I missing what happened," he muttered in a forceful tone.
The young commander would've sighed once more had he not had guests at the moment. "Alti, I have not forgotten. I assumed you'd be staying so I didn't say anything specifically to you," the man explained, red eyes flickering from there lowered state for a moment or so to rest upon the teen. Straightening from his leaned position against the castle's wall, the brown haired man turned his ever quivering attention to his apprentice, "I-" Shrugging, he continued in a slightly tired tone, "Fine. Ceris won't leave you alone I'm sure anyway...so if we have something to eat in here I can force him to eat along with us as well as explain everything to everyone," he murmured with an amused grin. Where was the mage anyway? He had said he'd be gone for a few minutes but he swore it had been much longer than a mere few...
Xel looked horribly amused. He knew he did not deserve any sort of special treatment from the mage simply because of their past together but...but the younger man's first question to him took him off guard- and many people couldn't do that- espeically with only words. Deep down he knew Ceris had been the one to initiate most of his escapes from the castle walls.
"Think you can...you can come for a bit?" "Inside?" Xel looked slightly uncomfortable at the very idea. He could always steal away the mage from the castle but he had never once thought to actually enter the castle himself... "Of course, yes, inside."
...and that offhand question...after all he had done took him completely by surprise. It was shame. Everything was a damn shame. He wouldn't deny that he'd truly been friends with Haar, best friends even...and that he had completely fallen in head-over-heels-love with the easily flustered magician and yet he figured he could never go back to those days because of his earlier agreement to take out fire kingdom royalty for the sake of the people he loved...No, the people he loved would never want fire royalty dead but his loved ones were still in peril because of that agreement. Haar had been in his way...and even thought he had loved the soldier to a certain degree he simply could not allow- Everything had been connected, no matter how many people would wave off his thoughts, everything was connected. He supposed the fire and light kingdoms had always had some sort of appreciation and trust for eachother, both being elements of certain heat...while those of the ice nation had always feared what could hurt them. His father had filled nonsense in his head before he had started training for the fire kingdom...before he had met his friends and the one he still loved. It had already been too late by then though, his father had set up an agreement to have him kill the fire nation's noblety. He assumed there had been spies all along, as Xel's own determination to kill faded and pride grew for the fire nation he figured his father had once more made an agreement to make sure Xel would kill for the sake of what his father saw as good and just.
"Father, I just wanted to tell you that the deal is off, I cannot submit myself so low as to kill everything I have come to love and cher-"
Sharp blue eyes looked up into brown, so much like his mother's... "Well then, if you don't spill fire blood I will see that someone dies." Xel looked confused, and looked up hesitantly, "Who?" He assumed his father was talking about kill him, his own son. Was it too much shame for the old man to bear? Too much shame that he didn't want to kill the fire kingdom's roy-
"I will have your purple haired friend killed. If you would like to see him live please uphold your side of the bargain."
...A damn shame.
[[Sorry if that was a bit confusing. Basically Xel's father had him sent to the fire kingdom to kill fire nation royalty. Xel eventually didn't want to so his dad threatened to kill Ceris. Poor Xel, he really isn't as evil as he appears to be. T^T -loves on him-]]

Mie-tanuki Sayael shrugged. "I doubt he would have. He loved her too much to destroy her only child and she made it plain she would never have another. All my siblings are only half-siblings. Mother doesn't seem to mind, at least..." He looked up, opening his eyes, at the other's words. He chose his words carefully. "My father was executed before I ever met him... But if you mean the king, well... He is very... kind to me. He never treated me less or any more for my birth - I was the same, which was better than any special treatement he might have tried to give me. So I'm greatful..." "I wouldn't want to see the man who put my mother through such torment.. whether she remembered it or not. He wouldn't deserve to be called a father," Dax said, an indignant tone beginning to play in his voice. He hated the idea of such an act of vulgar violence being played out against anyone, royalty or not. Shaking his head, he turned his eyes back onto Sayael. "So, your family. It has.. nothing at all to do with you wanting to leave?"

Sayael looked up and shrugged. "I'd never really thought about that... I suppose, even with father's attitude, everyone is still so... careful. The Earth Kingdom is rarely mentioned. Like I've said, I don't belong. I want to find a place where I can be free from suffocation." His eyes gazed at the clean snow before them, so white and perfect (despite how it hurt his eyes). "I doubt that the different royal bloods were ever meant to mix... Once they begin to mix, it seems that our magic begins to die out. Maybe there will come a day when no one rememberes the days when magic was common... a day when very few have magic, and those who do have to keep it hidden... It always seems, with these different bloods, that I have two halves of myself. One wants one thing, the other wants another. It almost as if I'm a living model of the war I hope never comes."
**
((That's the whole point of Allora. xD At first she was going to be flowery and giggle and her name was Flora, but Dax's mum got the... talkative mother type, so Allora (-namechange-) gets the motherly mother type. xD I like her better this way, anyway. =3 ))
She smiled - completely different smile from her son's, which was usually either disconcertingly eery or sarcastic - and said, "Alright, then. Make sure you take care of yourself... here..." She took out the small bottle with the arnica beads and pilled out a few, transfering them to a spare bottle. She handed it to the blond. "Take one or two of these - the same way as the ones before - if you leg starts aching or anything. You can never be too careful when it comes to healing and, well, your life."
Alti nodded. "...Alright. Mother, you can go back home with out me. I have some things to sort out and then I'll... I'll come." He frowned slightly. He really didn't want to leave - not for home and the court meetings and the suffocating air of... motherlyness, as well as the people's gossip that was sure to fire up. Fire... he smirked slightly, but quickly erased that feature as he saw his mother looking over at him sharply. "I think I'll stay a bit to make sure Edward will be alright. I'm also a little curio-" "-it doesn't concern you. Anyway, I'm sure you'll be needed back home." She frowned, lips pursed. Why did Alti always have to fight here? "...Alright, then," she snapped. "I'll stay for a bit to assure Edward's health and then I'll be off, as you wish." Her scowl, however, was amazingly like her son's. "And you've forgotten something, by the way. Even if you're off in some other kingdom, you have to practice." She handed him a small package about six inches long and an inch in diameter that had somehow fit in her purse, which was only about four inches long.

[[omg. I hadn't gotten a chance to really read this whole Xel, Ceris, and Haar thing until now, but awwwwwwwwww<3. I<3Xel and Ceris. Awesome little twist! I love this 'Edward' business too. It cracks me up.
Enter NEW sibling. dundunduuuuun...]]
"Oh my stars, you are as funny as they say you are, Aston!" a flirtatious giggle sounded in the halls of the castle. A girl in a bright fuschia, silken, knee-length skirt and a tightly fitted, white tee shirt threw a swoop of platinum blonde hair over one shoulder, revealing the pink, glittering word: GORGEOUS printed on the tee. She giggled again and placed a hand on her hip. "I'll talk to you later, cutie!" she stated before turning on her slightly raised heel and sashayed down the hall. The poor knight she had flirted horribly with was left with the queerest expression and mumbling, "But I didn't say anything..."
It wasn't long before Narcissa Requiem spotted her newest victim. Oh! And it was a good one. She descended the stairs down to the grounds by the pond and watched the green-haired teenager with piqued interest. Prancing quietly up behind the boy who doubled her own age without any reservations at all, she put on her most flirtatious smile. "Hiiii, Jillian. And just what is a handsome boy like yourself doing out here all alone? You look lonesome!"
Lonesome. In her I'm-so-much-older-and-mature-than-my-peers-that-I'm-available-to-any-age-group mindset, Narcissa found this to be the perfect opportunity to fix some of that loneliness her cold-hearted and blooded brother had undoubtedly afflicted another poor soul with. A hand fliratiously ran up and down Jillian's lean arm. "Aw, is Faryn being coldl again? I could gladly warm you up..."
[[... Clearly, Narcissa does not consider her nine-year-old-ness. She reads too many books and goes to too many parties.]]

[[@Sona: Why, thank you! I quite like them myself. :'D And Narcissa's nine?! Dear Lord. XD]]
Xel's eyes grew almost serious as he took the mage's hand. "I need to tell you something- ask...ask something of you as well," he murmured, not really even trusting his voice at that point. They had been walking the castle's grounds for the past fifteen minutes or so, admiring the forest-ridden lands of the fire kingdom that both were quite fond of. The two had not stopped once until the older had pulled Ceris off to the side, guiding him to a small alcove, secluded by trees and the like.
The mage looked up with a smile, "Yes, what is it?" He asked, fiddling with a longer strand of purple hair before focusing his lavender eyes back on the lean soldier. Xel sighed lightly, cupping his previously free hand over the hand he was already holding. Brown eyes flickered around, noting a dark figure in the already dark forest. He blinked...and it was gone, must've been his imagination. Ceris looked mildly concerned, "Is something wrong?" Although it wasn't odd for Xel to shower him with teasing little bits of affection...Xel was not joking- eerily serious as a matter of fact- and it was all simply confusing to say the least. The twenty-five year old shook his head, "No," he murmured, trying to keep his eyes from suspiciously wandering around, "Jus' thought I saw something." Ceris's own eyes danced around the area before finding their way back towards the young man in front. "I don't sense anything," he reassured the lightly tanned man, his free hand pale against the other's face as he ran a thumb delicately along nicks, scars, and quite a bit of dark stubble.
"Ceris, I just wanted to tell you that I love you-" His voice cut out after that as he leaned forward, pulling the mage close in an almost desperate effort, "-so much...I don't say it enough," he murmured, brown eyes closing briefly. "And...and the reason I came to the fire kingdom is-" Xel stopped short once more, his voice trailing off into a throaty sort of pained noise. The mage froze. Xel had a high tolerance for pain, that was a well known fact to both of them... He had been a side healer to the soldiers for a while until he had been situated in the castel and all through those years he had never once heard the older man complain about any such physical ailments...and that noise...th-that- "Are you okay?" He asked, trying to stay calm as he trying to break that dazed look he was currently staring up into.
"Xel...? Xel!?"
The green haired man stumbled back a bit, one hand fumbling against his own back, as if searching for an unreachable itch. Pulling at something, the dark eyed man winced as calloused fingers brushed over a thin strip of wood. Gently falling to his knees, the older man fixed his eyes on his now bloodied fingers. Ceris gasped slightly as he stared at the man's back...a thin arrow protruding from it.
"Ceris?" Again his voice was much too hoarse for his liking. "What did you do to them?" He asked, keeping his eyes downward, swallowing thickly in an attempt to smooth out his voice a bit from its scratchy sort of rough tone. Purple eyes flickered towards the clump of soldiers, all still blissfully asleep. "I- I didn't do any-" Xel looked almost amused, asking once more, "What did you do to them?" He could almost feel the mage's glare, and was soon rewarded with a heavy sigh and a confession. "I put them under a sleeping spell, I assume what I woke you up with negated all your symptoms though."
Ceris leaned in close to Xel with a soft smile. "I didn't think you'd ever wake up," he murmured, relieved that the older of the two was fine for the most part. After a slow trek to the castle, wherein Xel had been nearly unconscious the whole time, the younger man had tried his best to help the other- who was now staring up at him from a cot in the medical wing of the castle. Shuffling a hand inside his robes, the mage pulled out a torn slip of parchment, "This was attached to the arrow," he said in a quiet, curious, voice, handing the piece to Xel, it simply read:
"A Warning. -E. M. L.," Xel grew quiet for a moment or so before shaking his head, "Odd. I have no clue who...this person is." It was his father.
-----------------------------------------------
Peyton's smile still persisted as the woman poured out more of her strange bead-like pills. They had worked though... Leaning back slightly, the blonde frowned "I don't think I need to waste your time, I-...I don't want to keep you from what you...you were doing," he murmured with a slightly concerned expression.
Haar's eyes widened slightly as he listened to the banter between the mother and son. It wasn't so much the arguing as it was the- "Practice what?" He asked, one eye narrowing slightly out of habit. He still slightly suspicious of Alti, no matter how grateful he was for his relatives.

Jillian had just thrown his last stone when Narcissa called out to him. He looked up - down, rather, since she was much shorter than he - and offered her a slight smile, although his mind was clearly on other things. "No, no, I'm fine," he said, eyes her hand. He clearly wanted to jerk it from her grasp, but he was much too polite to actually do that... something he was beginning to regret. He paused a moment before saying, his tone slightly hopeful, "Don't you think you should be... more concerned with boys your own age? I know there's the baron and his son - I think he's eleven - comming to visit in a couple days..."
**
Allora had turned back to Edward as Haar asked his question, but quickly turned around again, answering for Alti, who was trying to say something about nothing important, that it was nothing, that... "Flute practice. The Midwinter festival is next week, and he has to practice." She had seen the suspision in the man's eyes and her eyes narrowed slightly. "You'd be best to show more courtesy than suspision..." she said, turning back to the blond to check something or other. "But I suppose that's always the problem with people from this kingdom..." she murmured somewhat irritably to herself. Alti had snatched back the small case, a scowl on his face. Really... flute practice. He wouldn't be gone that long and he could already play the stupid songs in his sleep.

An eyebrow raised in clear confusion and her green eyes blinked. What should she be concerned about someone that wasn't in the castle right now? And a baron, no less. Not much challenge to that; the boy was bound to be either an annoyance or clearly easy to persuade.
"Don't be silly!" was her only response. She wrapped her other arm around Jillian's and hugged it to her hardly developed test. "Go on a walk with me around the grounds?" she asked with a flirty smile, almost rhetorically because she'd never expect anyone to refuse her... charm.

He looked uncomfortably down at his arm. Faryn had already been angry at him for simply having his favorite sibling in his lap - what would he do if he saw this. Jillian sighed, running a hand through his green-and-black locks before he looked back down at the girl. He shrugged, a motion of resignation. "Sure... just, not like this," he gestured down to her grasp on his arm with his free hand. He was too tired to argue with Narcissa, so he had caved easily, but he wasn't going to give onlookers - if there were any - anything to assume.

Narcissa was slightly put off by Jillian's lack of enthusiasm. She looked at him, forcing herself for once to not break her short fuse and ruin her chances with her latest victim. Sighing slightly, she released his arm, but instead extended her hand. "Fine then. At least hold my hand so I don't trip on the walk or anything...." she stated, a little pouty and her voice taking on a slightly more demanding tone. Of course, there were other reasons for the hand-holding, but this was all she intended to allow Jillian believe.
