Oz stirred once more, this time completely rolling over onto his belly...or at least trying to. Because of the great increase in girth, he fell from the couch with a heavy thud.
"Uuuuuggghhhh...no wake up call next time please..." he mumbled, still half-asleep.
At the moment he was still a giant furry blob. He let out a heavy sigh as he got to a sort of sitting position, and rubbed his aching neck, looking blearily at Marshall.

Marshall jumped at least four feet into the air from the loud thud of Oz's falling. He slowly walked towards the black blob, however, smiling when Oz finally spoke.
"Oh thank sweet Buddha Jesus yer alright..." Marshall said with a relieved sigh as he knelled on the carpet.

"...Buddha wha?..." Oz replied after a momentary pause, looking quite the 'dumb animal' with his sleepy expression, less-than-human eyes, and exasperated slouch.
Senses were still dull, Marshall's voice just about seeping through a thick vapour of stupid that had enveloped Oz's skull. But his vision cleared up quicker in the light interior of the entertainment room, the penguin's sharp contrasting forms coming into focus.
"Marshall?" he asked with what could be called a simian smile. "...what day is it?..."

"I-Its the 28th...Of August...We've...We've been gone for a while...Or at least I have..." Marshall said weakly. He felt like he was going to burst into tears, but he didn't want to do that in front of Oz. God knowing how much the Gorilla would make fun of him for it.
"Are...Are you okay? I mean...You changed. You're a...You're a lot bigger."

"Yeah...I don't rememebr much...I thought maybe...maybe...some others had changed too...I guess not," he said in broken English, his voice incredibly thick and deep.
"But I'll be fine..."
He didn't mean that. His body language was so strongly of fatigue and exhaustion that the lie he just spoke couldn't be seen, but it was there. As his body slowly came online bit by bit, hunger drove his arm, which in turn picked up some fruit from the amazingly unbroken fruit bowl. He'd clipped it as he fell and the fruit had scattered, but it wasn't broken. Biting into an apple with a slow, painful motion, juice and saliva, with a little blood, trickled from his mouth.
"Seen anyone else yet?" he asked concernedly.

Marshall shook his head in response to Oz. His eyes widened and his mouth fell agape when he saw the blood.
Why are Oz's changes always so much worse than mine...? Marshall thought, as he brought his wrist up to his mouth, biting on the white T-shirt and tugging his beak back, ripping off a good portion. He held it out to Oz, trying not to freak out or looked too concerned.
"I was...kind of hoping you did..."

Oz wondered why Marshall had offered a torn piece of his shirt, and as his eyes were brought down to see it, he noticed the trickle of blood that had dripped onto his ********!" he grumbled angrily.
His bottom canines were quite fearsome now, but such weapons required a price. That being the total loss of his human teeth and incredibly sore gums for days.
"Nah...only saw Nita when...this happened..." he glanced down at his huge new form.
He accepted the fabric fragment and dabbed at his simian mouth, his swollen lips feeling quite unusual. Like after one has been to the dentist and is recovering from the effects of anaesthesia.

"Oh?! Y-You saw Nita?! Thats good...Real good..." Marshall said happily, or as happy he could be on this overly-stressful day. Hell, day? Make that week. Make that LIFE.
"Y'know...You really did get huge Kong. Hell you could probably over-throw a bus or some thin'." Marshall chuckled, trying to lighten the mood.

"Yeah, she seemed alright. Nothing had happened to her," he continued in a slightly more cheerful thread.
He assumed it was her that had left him something to eat, and as bits of his harrowing change creeped back now and then, he could distinctly remember her russet fur. She'd stayed with him. A gentle smile graced his ugly mug, if only for a few moments. He'd have to thank her somehow.
Oz sighed painfully.
"Yeah...I could barely fit in the door...I doubt I'll fit in my duplex anymore," he said, hints of sadness in his voice. "But it would be good to overturn a bus."

"Hrm...Well...If its still there...We could, um, take some the construction stuff...Maybe do some remodeling? Or whatever you'd call taking a hammer to a door...Heh heh..." Marshall said, slowly becoming his old self.
"You gonna need any thing? I could, um, get you some thing from the Cafeteria...I'm not sure if its any good any more..."

"Gaius does all the construction-y things, right? I could ask him what to do," he thought aloud, poking at the fruit in the bowl.
He'd already put the apple core to the floor, and thought about trying to eat something else. But, he wasn't sure what it was, he just didn't feel like eating. It could be a delayed reaction thing, like the overpowering aches and pains flooding through every muscle in his body. It could be a mental thing. Maybe he was still in shock? Or could it just be the will to carry on slipping away from Oz...
"I'll be fine," he chuckled, smiling lopsidedly. "You eaten yet?"

"Oh, I'm fine..." Marshall said, before his stomach released a huge, echoing gurgle, "...Okay, so the last time I remember eating was right before the whole...Coma...Thing..." Marshall said weakly, figuring that he was too preoccupied to worry about food.
"Need help standing up?"

Oz continued to smile lop-sidedly, which looked a little zombie-like with drool dripping from his mouth. Then he snorted through his wide nose.
"Yeah, like you'd be able to help ME up," he chuckled, imagining he would squash the poor penguin-boy in the process.
"Come on...lets see if I can get an appetite on our way to the cafe," he grumbled with his thick, deep gorilla vocal chords, not a spec of Oz's distinctive voice left.
His muscles and bones could pratically be heard grinding and stretching as he slowly struggled to an awkward four-legged stance. Oz refused to stay comfortable though. He hated to think, that like this, resting on his knuckles...his damn KNUCKLES!...he felt more natural. He sighed heavily as he wobbled on his two legs.

Marshall sighed, getting to his feet and following the large, almost unfamiliar gorilla man to the cafeteria. He wasn't exaggerating when he said Oz was huge. Hell, he probably could destroy a Jeep if he put his mind to it.
"I'm glad you're okay Kong...Really am." Marshall said solemnly, hoping that they weren't the only two who were left.
...At least I'm not alone.
