THAT WAS IT.
Sperra growled, sparked, and ROARED. The pidgey's fluttered away with a startled burst of feathers and THERE WERE THE BALLOONS. Sperra, feeling badass, wasted no time shoving her kids into one.

____________C h . 5 : Hot-Air Ballooning

Everyone (or almost everyone) was now safely in the confines of a balloon basket and now lifting off. The company narrowly escaped. The airship seemed to have suffered engine damage and was going down rapidly. After the craziness that ensued, you now had time to realize that you had just passed over the tops of a mountain range. You were now in the Clockwork Wastelands.

The pidgeys, sensing they have finally done their job, retreated into the skies, but they were traveling in the same direction that the balloons were going in. The Captain climbed upon the back of his dragonite-- one which you were just seeing now and had no idea how he hid such a burly pokemon-- and flew after the balloons. This way, he could quickly speed up or slow down to any of the balloons and act as a tour guide.

If you missed the last portion, you can join one of the open balloons and make an entry post as if you got into the balloon before it lifted off. We will be using the balloon threads for this portion and not this ORP.

____________C h . 6 : Stranded

All balloons had been called down for an emergency landing. The Captain touched down last, after making sure all balloons were safely landed and secured so they wouldn't fly away. It was the hottest time of day. The sun was blazing in the sky, but it wouldn't be for long. They were going to be needing water, shelter, and food. In that order. They needed enough supplies to last them at least the night.

"How was that landing!?" The Captain was smiling again. Does this guy ever not smile?

"Gather around, everyone! We don't know how long we will be here for, but we are going to need water and shelter for the night. Food, if we can get some, but food is not a priority. It would not be wise to travel around after dark. In the morning, I can attempt to make the trek back to the main airship and radio for help. Hoping that the radio system has not been destroyed, of course." He took the map out of his right vest pocket.

"We only have one map, so we're going to have to draw, or memorize the area and hope we don't get separated and lost. Do NOT, and I repeat, do NOT go anywhere alone and without letting anyone know you have gone. Children must be supervised at all times." He got out a red marker.

"This is our location, here." He wrote an "x" in the middle of the desert.

"First off, we need a group to build shelter. The best location is just where the forest isn't the thickest, and is close to water. We will need sturdy branches and large leaves. " He drew a dotted line from their current location to the edge of the forest and then drew a small circle.

"We are going to need a group to gather water; anyone who cannot hunt, or help build shelter." He circled the lake.

"We also need a group to hunt for food. Anyone skilled in hunting should go into the deeper parts of the forest, on the other side of the oasis." He marked it with another x.

"There might be some berries or fruits to gather, if there is someone who knows which are edible because sure as hell, if I know! They would grow closest to water, so around the oasis." He didn't make a mark for that one.

When done explaining, he showed them all the map.





(( Organize yourselves and each other into groups, whichever way you think is logical. Anyone can take the lead if they wish. You can chat before deciding. Groups do not have to have the same number of people in each, but more people per group will give you more chances at successfully accomplishing that task. Each group will need someone to have a map. Map holders will need to copy (redraw) that map onto something.

Anise tottered to her feet (leaning on Oki slightly for support) as the Captain started explaining their situation. Not a good situation, but she had been expecting the worst of this strange excursion, and she was used to surviving in the wilderness. When the Captain produced a map and said people would have to draw it, she pulled out a pencil and a piece of the paper she kept on hand in case she ever needed her Altaria to send a note, and started copying the map down.



She noted the tasks he outlined, and immediately decided on the one that she figured the fewest people would have the proper knowledge for. She looked up at the group at large and declared, "I'll go looking for edible plants to gather. I'm used to wandering through the wilderness and gathering food and medicine, I know what to look for." Granted that she was less familiar with desert plants than those in other terrain, but she still ought to be able to manage.

Anise is going to be in the GATHERING group!

LAURENCE is going to be in the SHELTER group!

Laurence knew that now was the time for him to step up as an adult and take care of the children. He also knew that his muscle would be required for building the shelter, so he quickly volunteered to do that. He expected there would be fewer children volunteer for that task, so he would have to try to get it done quickly so he could help out another group and look after the youngsters.

Laurence waited to see who else would volunteer for the shelter group so they could come up with a plan and travel to the forest together.

Gepardo is going to be in the [SHELTER] group!

Gepardo stepped out the balloon basket and looked around while listening to the Captain. Taking a look of the map, he wrote down a quick sketch of it before he removed his vest, putting away in his bag. He rolled his sleeves up and sighed, he was certainly not dressed for physical work, what with the slacks and the dress shirt, but he would do. He had experience raising barns and building all type of environments for his breeding stocks.

"I'll be helping with the shelter....is anyone joining me?"

Corbin recovered pretty quickly from the crash but his Riolu on the other hand had not recovered yet. He listened to what the captain said about what to do and took into consideration the condition of his pokemon. He walked over to Eliza and Ajax. "So what do ya think?" He asked, "Aaron here isn't up to something like hunting. Would you be up to going after the water?"

Corbin nodded. "Alright we'll join the water group." He called out while gesturing to show that he was including Eliza/Genesis. He noticed another person had volunteered for the water group too. He went and set down Aaron and patted his head. "I know yer still shaken kid but.... ya gotta stand on yer own." He said quietly.

Aaron was glad that they weren't part of the hunting group or the gathering group. When he was set down he wasn't too happy but he nodded his head at what Corbin said. He did need to get stronger and more independent. But that didn't mean he was able to do so right away, so he clung to Corbin's leg.
