Alex had yet to really have a good look at any of the booths, busy with his own devices as he was. Wandering up to one that was far back and familiarly frozen, he shuffled up to the pond slowly, hands in his pockets.
Hello, what were all of these, then?
Watching the many swimming poms, he began to pick out different colors, though there was one that he thought looked a bit different....
He leaned down towards the water, but as soon as it came, it was gone again, and he straightened up, eyes landing on some nearby fishing gear.
....That looked like it could be fun!

Fine. Looked like she had to do things the regular way. She snatched a sturdy-looking rod and took a shrimp, being careful to tie the knot extra tight. Once it had held, she cast it gently into the frigid waters of the pond.
