Toris Laurinaitis The Oldest Baltic Sophomore "Would you like to play against me or would you rather we just pass the ball back and forth?" Toris suggested, figuring the other wouldn't want to participate in sports unless it was necessary. A loud CRACK caught his attention and quickly looked up to see and hear a baseball flying by and hitting the gym lights. The Lithuanian ducked and pulled Estonia along with for ducking in fear had become a second nature to them. He didn't let go until he was sure that the ball had stopped. Toris looked over to who's bright idea it was to play baseball inside to find it to be one of the states. Even if Poland got the bright idea to do such a thing, chances were that he would of gotten bored of trying to play the game properly and turn it into something else. Lithuania puffed what little cheeks he could and marched on over to Landon. First he tapped the blonde's shoulder to get his attention. "Are you insane! You could of nearly killed us and the rest of the class not to mention the damaged you could of caused if one of the lights broke and fell! I don't believe I'm met anyone so reckless!" he fumed. ███████ ███████ ███████
(Out of Vilnius: I've actually experienced similar scenes with kickball hitting the gym lights, but then the balls always got stuck. Never played baseball inside for obvious reasons. )

Despite himself, self-defense overrode prudence and he waved a hand in slight dismissal. “No matter how hard I can hit that ball, it can’t possibly hit those lights hard enough to knock them down!” he defended. “That baseball is too little mass flying too great a distance to hit too strong a set of cables and bump into too many solid objects along the way. It’s all physics! And I never saw the thing hit the glass part of the lights, so you can all walk easy. As for it killing you…” Landon grinned. “Sure, it hurts a helluva lot to catch a fastball, but is it deadly? Not to my knowledge.” The Californian was the oldest Western baseball state in the Union and had modified his equipment to prevent fatal injuries. But the way he justified his swing could seem a little too smart for the more conservative nations in the room.

Toris Laurinaitis The Oldest Baltic Sophomore It appalled Toris that this boy would try to talk his way out if this through physics and not their safety. Unlike the state the Lithuanian kept surprisingly calm. "This building was obviously not meant for that particular sport but suppose it did hit the lights that it broke the glass? And as a matter of fact, a baseball can be deadly, if it hits one's head just right. Luckily no one was hurt this time around, but think about who you could be harming if you're not so lucky next time. Someone is bound to become injured or worse. And I don't think you're the type of person that wants that kind of guilt on their conscious." Lithuanian let out a soft sigh, seeing that all he wanted to say had been said now, and hopefully Landon would at least take his words into consideration. Toris went back to Eduard and practically collapsed to his knees. He still haven't gotten over the recent scare and it was now causing his stomach to become uneasy as it always does. █████████████████████ (Out of Vilnius: boy killed by ball )

★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ California, unfortunately not one likely to actively prevent himself from getting carried away by in the name of entertainment, was unmoved by Lithuania's verbal argument. While a batted ball in the major leagues rebounded at a maximum of 125 miles per hour, Landon was by no means a professional (though he was quite skilled), and he estimated that his swing achieved about 108. Baseballs lost so much velocity between hit and catch that that meant his ball couldn’t have hit his hand with any more than a velocity of 80; hardly enough to kill or even severely injure. But he was surprised and actually alarmed to see Toris leave and fall on his knees without any impact to explain it. Baseball was the safest high-velocity sport on the continent, with no fatalities since the 1920s when Ohio’s helmetless Ray Chapman had been killed by a fastball to the head. Landon’s hit was just reckless fun, right? ... Then again, reckless was probably why.
"Hey... Are you okay?" he asked worriedly, tailing Lithuania over to Estonia and kneeling to look the Baltic over. "Nothing fell on you just now, right?" he added, checking the lights just to make sure. "We can play something else if you're that upset about it..." He awkwardly tried to hide the baseball behind him with both hands as he spoke.

Cʜєsa Lυzvaмɪɴɗa NєɴєттєTʜє Kɪɴɗ Hєaʀтєɗ Sopʜoмoʀє Chesa instinctively ducked at the loud crack of Landon's bat, not even caring to look where the ball was bouncing. Diyos who was the idiot playing baseball indoors?! Once the chaos seemed to die down, she glanced up just in time to see Toris chew Landon... though Landon's physics talk was a bit irritating for a comeback. "Toris has a point, y'know. We may be personifications but even a hit to the head can cause dangerous trauma. Physics may apply, but so does safety, you ought to be more careful or at least play outside." She pointed out, backing up the Lithuanian. While Landon's argument was sound, that still didn't excuse the reckless behavior.✿ ✿ ✿ xx☀ ☀ ☀ ☀ ☀xx ✿ ✿ ✿ Fɪʟɪpɪɴo >>> Eɴɢʟɪsʜ

☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀Florida watched their baseball's potentially destructive path across the room in mild awe. He couldn't help appreciating a good hit when he saw one, but when the ball went zipping barely over the heads of the other students, Rutilio shamelessly kept his head low and made sure to distance himself from the scene of the crime while his baby brother took the fall. Quietly he snickered to himself as California got in trouble while he managed to dodge the bullet. Only when he was capable of keeping a straight face did he reappear nearby Landon with a "stern" expression which barely concealed his amusement. "Alta, I am surprised at you! How could you be so careless?" he scolded then looked back at the other sophomores as he grabbed the younger state and pulled him into a smothering hug. "Forgive him! He is young and cannot understand that not everyone's skull is as thick as his!" ☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀<> <>[

★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ Landon pouted at the Baltics’ hysterical assumptions, but he caved at Chesa’s more logical remonstration, recalling the pain he’d felt the last time he’d taken a fastball to the chest just a few years ago when the Giants last appeared at the World Series. He hadn’t been able to walk properly for a month after that, despite a Hetalian’s tendency to be much sturdier than the average human. “Point taken,” he said sullenly, still wanting to play baseball in someplace dry but unable to think of such a place. “I’ll figure out something else to—“
Before he could think of another game to play, Rutilio appeared at his side and promptly engulfed him in a cold, damp hug while simultaneously scolding and defending him with the old assertion that California had a thick skull and could never learn. “My skull isn’t thick!” he retorted by rote, suppressing a smirk out of habit since it seemed to him that Rutilio could never truly be mad at him—if one discounted the rare instances when California was blocked from overcapitalizing on the 'bad South' image. The Westerner twisted his head to look up at Florida questioningly. “What else can we play, Ruti… lio…?”
Landon, still headlocked by his older—and still damp--Gulf brother, tailed off as he hit upon an amazing plan. If he and Florida could figure out a way to stop the rain from drenching an area roughly equal in area to a small baseball field, then all of their problems would be solved! Cali could keep playing baseball with his favorite brother and the nations could keep on doing whatever they were doing before without any worry! “Yeah!” he cheered unnecessarily, forgetting that no one had heard his train of thought and therefore would likely assume he wasn’t right in the head. “Let’s go outside, bro!”
With that, Landon promptly began running-slash-hobbling off to the gym doors to test his plan, pausing only to pick up his baseball gear, dragging Rutilio alongside for some time.

Which means they'll either be very hyper for the rest of the day, irrationally lose that energy somehow, or need to make many runs to the loo afterwards. || I vote energy high. biggrin Hence, why Cali never learns XD

Why would we want to go outsi--" Rutilio didn't get to finish asking his question before he felt himself being dragged off by his baby brother towards the great (and rainy) outdoors. He didn't try to resist being whisked away, but it still took him mildly by surprise. It seemed like everyone had a habit of dragging him around wherever he was wanted. It sure was rough to be such a popular guy! ☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀✿☀<> <>[

The Californian’s sky-blue eyes were sparkling at the prospect of a new and previously unattempted challenge as he turned around to inform his brother of his plan. “We can both use water magic, so I bet if we could make the rain stop for the rest of this period over just a small field’s worth of land, we can play baseball out here to our hearts’ content!” he exclaimed, ignoring the cold in his eagerness to attempt to defy the weather. “We can’t play if we don’t try! You with me, bro?”
After playing in the rain for some time, the two left for Literature.

Toris Laurinaitis The Oldest Baltic Sophomore With a smile to his partner, Toris reached out in effort to stand up again. "I am better now." Long as he knew his love was safe, most of his own worries faded. "Apparently was I still shaken up by that near life ending experience." he chuckled. He then turned to the girl that defended him.
