Jonathan shakes his head and sighs. "Helpless as always, Alex?" he says with a chuckle, toying idly on the string holding his ponytail tight. "If you wish to file a formal complaint, go talk to the captain."

Alexandra's shoulders stiffens up as she hears the question escaping Jonathan's mouth and her eyes implusively narrows to slits defiantly. "I am NOT helpless, Jonathan Graves. I am just careless with my things." She stiffly says as she turns around, her back facing him. "I just came over to see what kind of orders you have for someone like me. Apparently nothing so I can go back to my hidey hole." She says in almost sarcastic voice.

Jonathan narrows his eyes at the girl and leans in. "Need I remind you that I outrank you?" he says in a stern, but low voice. "As the Quartermaster, I can inact punishment on you should I wish." He leans back into his normal position and casually flips through his logbook. "The cannons need cleaning, dear."

Alexandra contiunes to keep her body taut as she slowly turns her head toward Jonathan but there is no emotions showing in any of her facial features. "Please refrain from calling me dear, sir and I will get right to that." She nods at him and hurries over to the place where cannons are located before Jonathan could say anything.

katherine frowned at the chaotic mess that was her cabin. After trying on several of her favourite and most impressive looking outfits only to find they were also too constricting, she'd had to concede that the clothes themselves weren't to blame. Poking at her waistline disconsolately, katherine considered that perhaps it was time to cut back on the red meat and ale a bit.
Growling under her breath with displeasure, she dragged on a loose coat and threw herself into a chair to brood. Nothing had gone right today, and the days ahead looked to be just as boring and disappointing.

Being relatively alone again, Jonathan couldn't help but think there was unfinished business he had with the ship's captain. Now would be a good time to clear things up before the eventual battle with whatever was out there, if the merchantman or whatever didn't outrun or outhide them first. "Captain?" he called out, knocking on the cabin door.

"I don't believe this.” Ara muttered under her breath as she tied back another rope and dodged another as the crew got the ship ready to ranch. “I boarded this ship trying to get away from the crazy people… well I’ll admit now that this was defiantly not the right ship to hop on board.” She continued to herself as she cast a glance back over her shoulder at the captain’s quarters. And being lead by one such as her self, She would be lucky if her first battle on board didn’t get her a front row seat to the bottom of the sea. She shook her head, knowing that there was no turning back now.

Katherine started awake at a knock on the door, immediately annoyed with herself for haven fallen asleep and even more annoying with whoever had woken her up. She groaned as she straightened up, sleeping in her chair was never a fun experience, but it seemed that as she was getting older the aches became sharper.
Thus, by the time she got to the door and had it opened, the captain was not sporting a cheerful disposition. Far from it. "What," she spat out angrily, "do you want?" she demanded of the quartermaster.

Jonathan mentally frowns to himself at seeing the disposition of Katherine. "Did I come at a bad time?" he inquires. Instead of backing off, he turns it into a challenge, as usual. "I could always come back at a later time, when you are less... weak," he continues with a smirk.

The english man had a particularly remarkable talent to elevate Katherine's levels of irritation, though given her mood this wasn't a very unique ability right at that moment. Giving him a glare hot enough to boil stone, the captain grabbed her dagger and in one swift movement lodged it firmly in the doorframe next to Jonathan's head.
"Weakness isn't my problem. You are. State your business and begone."

"Save your hatred for the enemy," he says coldly, shooting her with an equally-harsh glare. "Inter-ship aggression is not needed nor welcomed. It only makes you look like less of a leader, one more prone to falling prey to mutiny." He takes his cargo manifest out from his jacket and hands it to the captain, quickly switching subjects from what he wanted to talk about to something irrelevant. "The weapon stores and powder keg should last us for two or so more battles, should we use a full broadside again."

Katherine fumed internally, unable to comprehend how one man could cause her so much fury. Feeling a headache forming behind her eyes, the captain closed her eyes and schooled her emotions into something resembling calm. Not because it made her less of a leader or that she feared mutiny, but simply because it's far easier to aim when one isn't trembling with anger.
Eyes still closed, Katherine blindly felt for her small emergency knife and with a deft toss buried it in the cargo manifest, barely missing Jonathan's hand. Opening her eyes and feeling rather pleased that she'd actually pulled that one off, Katherine smirked tightly at Jonathan. "I don't require leadership advice from a navy deserter, and you should know better than to bother me with trivialities. Good day."
Closing the door with a definite slam, the captain returned to her chair to nap some more.

Jonathan was not pleased at the captain's reaction, but he was pleased that his point of bad leadership was known to her. He pulls the small knife from the book and walks over to the railing, casually tossing the weapon into the ocean. One less toy for Katherine to play with, and one more toy she would have to replace because of her blind rage.

Katherine was awoken by yet another banging at the door. Cursing a blue streak under her breath, the captain staggered to the door and wrenched it open, startling the poor boy who happened to be on the other side. Katherine kept the door open long enough to listen to his piping report of a ship being sighted, then slammed the door in his face again.
Turning back to her cluttered desk, the captain considered her options. Attacking a fellow pirate was a foolish move in any circumstances, as they were equally well armed with no promise of rich cargos. Unfortunately, there was a fair chance that the other ship had already spotted them, and the Dementia wasn't well fitted for flight at the moment.
It could go either way, but the wisest choice was still to attempt to leave peacefully. But Captain Kruel wasn't known for her wisdom, and a good battle would be the perfect way to cool her boiling blood. Katherine buckled on her sword belt, or at least attempted to. Cursing her gluttony and making a mental note to steal a new belt, Katherine drew her cutlass and headed for the decks to order the attack.
