Miyuki ducked to keep herself from being squished by River. She didn't know River at all having met Brooke first, and Jasmine second. River seemed completely different from her two sisters.
Lin grinned, River was going to make things really interesting she decided.

At that moment, Alyse appeared in the doorway to the kitchen, a smile on her face.
"No need to guess what that squeal meant," she giggled. "Come on in, everyone, dinner's ready." She motioned for them to come into the dining room.
With a giggle, River got off of Lin and Earendil and headed to the dining room.
Earendil chuckled softly and stood carefully, holding a hand down to Lin to help her up.

Miyuki had already slipped off to the dining room the moment she realized dinner was ready. She was eager for something yummy to eat after a day's worth of interesting people and places.
Lin took his hand and pulled herself up, still grinning for she was quite amused.
"Still full of energy...."

Earendil chuckled and hugged Lin to his side briefly. "She's only twelve, I would hope she still has energy!" he laughed.
With an amused grin, he led her towards the dining room. Alyse and Jasmine were in the process of setting the table, and River and Brooke were already sitting at the table, waiting for the meal to begin.

Miyuki was waiting eagerly for her parents, she hadn't realized how hungry she was until Alyse had said it was dinner time. She also didn't know where to sit because she found both Brook and River interesting even though she would rather stay with her parents.

Timaeus directed Lin and Earendil towards one side of the table, and Earendil pulled a chair out for Lin to sit down first. They would be sitting across from River, while Brook was at the other end of the table, presumably near Alyse and Timaeus's seats since she was so young.
At last, everything was ready, and Timaeus took his place at one end of the table, and Jasmine took the seat at the other end. Alyse sat next to Timaeus - which left one seat for Miyuki, next to Lin but across from River.

"Thank you," Lin murmured to Earendil as she took her seat.
Even though he was always doing things like that for her.
Miyuki, of course took the last seat, climbing into the chair and sitting down. She looked at River, whom she found very friendly and kind of funny so she wasn't at all shy of the older girl.
She waved.

River grinned at Miyuki and waved back. She was only slightly older than Miyuki, physically, but she liked absolutely everyone she had ever met. There wasn't a shy bone in her body.
"I'm so excited I get to be going with you!" she exclaimed, speaking directly to Miyuki. "I've always wanted to travel but Mama and Ada never go anywhere so I've never been able to!"

Miyuki nodded at that, that made sense because her mommy and ada traveled so she could travel too!
"It'll be fun," she agreed, "It's always fun.."
Except for the lessons sometimes and that one or two scary moments, but otherwise it was always fun.

River kept right on grinning. "Nako says you're planning on going to all the different lands - I've never left the ranch before! Except to visit my nako and ninako in the valley, and once I went with Papa to hunt for some food. But other than that I've never been anywhere, so I'm really excited! I want to see what's out there, what the countries are like! What the people are like! Nako said that we might even see some people that were here before, when they were little, but I won't know any of them, because that was all before I was born ..."
She was rambling, but in her defense, she was excited.

"You mean the children that had been rescued in the past and brought here for a while?" Lin asked.
She hadn't thought about that actually, it was a good point there was always a chance of that. With her there was probably a greater chance of that.

Timaeus smiled at Lin's question. "And why not?" he asked her. "The children we rescued came from all three of the elven lands, they would be adults by now, even the youngest of them I think ... there's no reason why you wouldn't see any of them. Mother and Father would recognize them, Daeron might recognize some of them, you should ask them to keep their eyes open when you're out there."

"I just hadn't thought about that, that's all," Lin admitted, "But that sounds like a good idea."
It had been so long since she had seen or heard of any of the others.
"I've only met a few growing up, and that was a very long time ago."

"That's true," Timaeus mused. "And Earendil's never been here when there have been children ..."
Earendil shook his head. "Not until after the Northland problem had already been taken care of."

"So if we do meet someone who had been here, chances are your parents or Daeron will be the only ones to recognize them," Lin told Timaeus.
This wasn't necessary a bad thing, it was just that no one else would have any way of knowing. Unless it was a child from one of Lin's few visits.
