Libby

It was quite sickening the sight of them, paired off like that but for a reason apart from jealousy. She had told Vincent that she would wiggle Aimee out of her shell but her current manner for achieving that was being blocked by Seth's apparent smitten disposition towards Lilly, Aimee's friend and roommate.

"You better know of it," Libby joked in response to Lilly's disbelief but nodded her head simply at Vincent. Seth's voice became background music to her ears except for when he asked her a question regarding Aimee's Major. How could he not see what it was? The demon sipped at her almost finished beer and nearly spat it out at the words that came out of the redhead's mouth. It was the word "lover" that bothered her the most but then the offhand answer of it being a pet name heated her skin slightly.

"She's a writer, can't you tell? She probably has a job concerning it as well. Either way, she's too quiet not to be in that field of creativity." The demon drained her bottle and stood up, ready to get another. "Does anyone need anything else?"

Vincent

Vincent looked cross with Aimee for a second, but just let it slide for now. He finished his Martini and started drinking hers.

"Two glasses of water please Libby." Vincent rubbed his fingers gently against Aimee's ribcage trying to keep her relaxed, but it was obvious she was peeved.

'As I hear it, Seth is in love with Libby, but the feeling isn't mutual. Though the way she looks at him, you'd guess otherwise. Oh and Seth is trying to make a move on Lilly. Just thought you'd like to know.' Vincent chuckled as he watched Lilly's hand move to the table, and Seth's move to the table, this time being a little more discreet about where it went. Nothing got past Vincent when you had a million eyes.

Seth

Seth wasn't put off by Lilly's attempt to play coy. Though he realized he needed to sober up a little if he was going to make it back to the dorm.

"I'll take a water as well Libby." He turned to Aimee, clearly snuggling close to Vincent. It stung to see them so close. Why couldn't that be him and Libby. No, no thinking that way. The stunning blond next to him was even better than Libby.

"Not my lover Aimee, just an old friend, though she is a demon, when she get's angry." Seth chuckled as his hand slid closer to Lilly's this time just touching it, not trying to grasp.

"I was going to guess either Latin, or Italian major, but English would have been the third one. I don't read the school paper, if you right for it, no offense. Anyway enough about school, have you two been to any of the races. You know the not so legal ones off the main drag. I race, used to be Raithsburne, but I dabble in design and have written up the plans for a revolutionary bike. Libby helped finish it so I called it the St. Claire. Wanna see?" He had a picture of the bike actually resting on the two wheels, engines in place.

Aimee Lynne Cox

'She doesn't love him; she was sitting next to him for five minutes and didn't touch him voluntarily once.' It was true; Aimee had been watching for the physical contact, to judge if others were like her and Vincent (faux sweeties or not). Everyone knows all the lovers of the world can't stand going five minutes without physical contact with their loved ones; it was an unspoken rule of the world.

"Thank you, Libby."

She gave the demoness a smile. 'I wish him the best of luck.' Aimee honestly did...mostly because she knew he had no chance with her. Seth drove motorcycles for fun, for crying out loud. As far as Lilly was concerned, Seth might as well have been stabbing Planet Earth in her kidneys.

"I am alright with languages, but not nearly good enough to get the major; you need five and I only grew up in the average tri-lingual family."

She shrugged again.

"No, I don't write for the paper; there's a small publishing firm a few klicks off campus and I work for them, both as an intern and as a short-story writer."

Meanwhile, Lilly was giving Seth more and more horrified looks. Aimee gave Vincent a private smile. 'And here comes the hippie in Lilly.'

"You...you...race? For fun? On those...horrid machines? Aren't you worried about the planet? About what kind of carbon footprint you're leaving behind?"

Libby

Libby accepted the orders and did not wait around to hear what else Seth had to say, missing out on Aimee's spoken gratitude or anything else that she might have said. The crowd was as thick as she had expected it to be and so, she swan through it as best she could with almost her bare feet surrounded by four inch heels and higher on all sides. The demon pushed herself out once the bar was in sight and grabbed four bottles that a guy had purchased for himself. She threw a girly, flirtacious giggle his way and the man just smiled at her, already buying another round. She returned in time to catch Lilly's retort to finding out obviously that Seth rode motorcycles. The demon placed a water in front of each of them. An amused grin was on her face at Lilly's reaction to the news. She had to see Seth handle this one. Of course, she had no problem with riding but that was only because she had written off the human world as a wasteland several hundreds of years ago.

Seth

Seth smiled a crooked grin, she was environmentally friendly, and well Seth wasn't, hadn't been that way till a few years ago. When it was harder to fill his bike up with gas. So with a few modifications he changed the engine.

"That is unfair Lilly. You assume I use petrol to run my bikes. Well I did, till three years ago. When gas hit four dollars in New York and down here. I learned I could run my bike on something else. So I took over to the science lab and they took the engine apart, changed some components and voila, pure ethanol. Sugar Ethanol made from the waste products of the corn and sugar cane industries. Ten cents a gallon. Now that is Raitshburne. A little volatile when I put the Nitro Booster on, but stable enough for drag races." Seth whipped out his phone and flipped to the picture of the St. Claire and put it on the table.

"What do see on that bike? Not one, but two engines. They use Hydrogen fuel cells. That's what I needed the extra money for. I could have built this bike for five thousand dollars. I needed those engines and the computer system to manage those engines, which isn't cheap. My only by product of going fast. Water, potable at that. Actually those engines are so efficient I could power half the dorm with them." Seth would also be able to go nearly a thousand miles without having to refuel.

"So yes I do think about my carbon foot on this planet. Anyway, most races use pure ethanol, NASCAR, Indy, Formula 1, and Moto GP is going to ethanol run bikes. The racing industry is usual the first to introduce new fuels to the consumers, and they are always more efficient and clean." Seth really laughed as he stuck his tongue out at Lilly.

Vincent

Vincent listened to Seth prattle on about his carbon impact and was impressed. The hydrogen fuel cells perked his interest, since Vincent could do the same himself. Minus the electrolysis. Aimee seemed bored by it all and Vincent thought about taking her onto the dance floor, then thinking turned to action.

"Let's leave these three and have a little fun on the floor." Vincent didn't give her a chance to answer and when he pulled her up he gave a knowing look to Libby. He pinged her mind, though their communication had to be accepted really.

'I'll loosen Aimee up physically, exhaust her and then you work her mentally. There will be the usual payment waiting in a day or so. A dreadfully morose person for you amusement.' Vincent grinned wickedly. This wasn't the first time Vincent had used Libby's services and it wouldn't be the last. Vincent and Libby got along reasonably well and Vincent had done some wet work for her as well. It was him and Vassili that were a little more violent towards each other.

Aimee Lynne Cox

Aimee had little choice but to follow Vincent. She could've told him that she would've rather stayed with Lilly, but she didn't. She could've told him that she was a lousy dancer (fast or slow), that Lilly was the one he should've been dancing with, but she didn't. And, just her luck, it was a ******** slow dance. Aimee sighed and just went with the torture.

Lillian "Lilly" Uckelman

"And what of the starving people? While you're out...out...squandering precious fuel, precious fuel made from corn, I might add, million of people are starving to death a year. The gasoline could've been used to feed them."

Lilly's cheeks had reddened in a most pleasing manner as she spoke passionately against Seth. She didn't even look at Seth's phone.

"And that's not even mentioning the various organic animal and plant life that use corn as a secondary or primary source of feed."

She paused to take a drink from her (dwindling) martini. Lilly's strongly resisted the urge to just grab Seth's tongue and refuse to give it back. He did stick it out; it's just begging to be used as a political prisoner, if you asked her.

Seth

"Lilly calm down, calm down. You missed the important part of that, the non wasteful part. Cause I'm doing just that, using the waste. The Corn husk and Sugar cane stalks are a waste product of the industries, and ripe full of sugars themselves. Which are processed and then refined into Ethanol." Seth chuckled at her apparent passion at such things and realized she was more attractive as such.

"Every time I race I advertise the engine build and design and fuel use. Advertising environmentally friendly ideas. I have a feeling though your ideas go beyond just carbon impact." Seth leaned back as he realized she was a vegetarian. Seth accepted the idea, but didn't know if he would be able to do that.

"Vegetarian are we. You know the Mesopotamian were nearly wiped out due to that. They saw no real benefit to being omnivorous and tried a strict diet of fruits and vegetables. They didn't however have access to protein rich nuts and berries as we due now. So then you must hate me even more cause I enjoy the taste of beef and pork, am I right?" Seth chuckled lightly as his eyes swiped across the table and he realized that Vincent and Aimee weren't there. He noticed Libby's eyes and just stared at her till Lilly answered him.

Vincent

Vincent had kept the dancing light, expecting her to take the initiative, but she was uncomfortable so he pulled her from the crowd and to a wall. He leaned against the wall and held her close, nearly having their lips touch. Most people would think they were making out.

"Seems as though you aren't enjoying the night out at the club. I though all young girls loved clubbing. At least that's what they did in the forties in America." Vincent chuckled as information on this was actually limited in that scope. All he had was the propaganda of the Japanese government.

"You're only here cause Lilly is, aren't you? If she hadn't come you would've stayed home and done something else." Vincent rubbed her back lightly as he thought about this and let a molecule of water show him the booth they had been at. Libby seemed to be just observing the continued argument over environmentally friendly options. Lilly seemed a little flustered and a little tipsy on top of that. Seth was, not staring at Lilly, but at Libby. That kid had a masochist streak going.

"You wanna go back to the booth and listen to them argue about the environment or do you wanna go make out somewhere." Vincent laughed lightly at this.

Libby

Libby wanted vodka or something harder than that to just drown herself in it. Vincent's message did not faze her. She had her own plans on the subject of Aimee but would work around it somehow for him as per usual. The subject matter of the argument was not what was keeping her in place but the manner in which the two humans were interacting, specifically her human. When Seth looked up at her after trying to defend his case, the demon could not help but glare at him. It was not an angry red but dark enough for smoldering flames.

"Hey Lilly, would you mind going with me by the bar? I want to get some more drinks for the group but probably would not be able to bring it all over by myself. Would you?" During the request, Libby managed to soften her features and take the danger out of her eyes while trying to charm the girl. Unfortunately, her head did not make that much of an effort to glance in her direction so the sudden light mood seemed more directed to Seth than Lilly. Stop looking at me.

Lillian "Lilly" Uckelman

"What is waste and what isn't is a pure matter of opinion and perspective, Seth. Plenty of animals could have used those stalks and husks for their own self. Did you know that if you boil them down, you can extract the nutrition from them? You're just continuing the problems of the world, Seth."

Lilly shook her head.

"I don't hate the unenlightened; that's sadistic. It's like saying you despise a child for not knowing how to read yet."

She turned to Libby, nodding.

"Sure. Anything to get away from...from his ilk."

She scooted out of the booth and joined Libby as she weaved her way through the milling crowds towards the bar.

Aimee Lynne Cox

Aimee gave Vincent a wane smile.

"I don't dance. And I'm not here just for Lilly."

She shook her head at both of Vincent's suggestions.

"Neither, actually. I'm just a little tired; didn't sleep so well last night. Something about being watched while I'm trying to rest keeps me from have a full night's sleep."

Aimee wasn't about to let Vincent forget that little transgression anytime soon. She smiled again and tried to look happy...er...

"But hey, don't let me get you down. If you wanna dance, let's dance."

Seth

Seth sat back at watched the two women walk away to get more drinks. He sighed and realized there was a reason he never tried to date. Women were to complicated and to passionate. Seth finally slid out of the booth and pushed his way outside. The air sobered him up very quickly and made he sway for a moment. He walked over and sat down on the seat of Raithsburne and pulled his cell out which he had retrieved before leaving. There were about ten messages all from Angel. He began reading through them and as the last one passed before his eyes he felt worse than he had earlier. ******** my life. That was all Seth could think of and so he didn't notice the two thugs strolling up behind him. When they made themselves known Seth had turned his self pity into anger.

"What'd ya want?" They motioned to the bike and Seth started to laugh at them.

"My bike. Alright you can have the bike, as soon as you pry the keys from dead fingers." They muttered about being able to make that happen. As the first one lunged his eyes bugged. Seth's fist planted itself in his stomach with more force than the thug had been expecting and dropped to the ground holding his stomach. A quick jerk of his keen and the thug was out. The other one drew a knife. Seth chuckled and before this idiot could do anything his wrist broke under Seth's quick ministrations and he to was on the ground. I hate fighting, but tonight its alright. Seth started chuckling about that fact. Just took a bad night. Seth dialed the phone and Angel picked up. Sounded like she had been crying.

"Hey there girl. Sorry bout not calling. When I heard about the BVR, I sorta zoned out about our plans. So..." She hung up and Seth knew he deserved it so he just dropped the phone in his pocket and sat again heavily on the bike.
