"Oh, haha, very funny Mr. smarty...hat," Jinx was thinking about saying smarty pants, but it wouldn't make sense, since he is a hat and can not wear pants at all. Well, maybe hat pants, is there even such a thing? Jinx stored that thought in the back of her head. Someday she was going to invent clothing for magic talking hats.

He had been going to wait for Jinx to ask this, but she seemed more focused on flirting with the lump of meat before them than actually finding out what was going on...

"Ah," Alcharius answered. "I was afraid as much..." After a pause, he added tentatively, "Ah, what about, exactly?" As usual, he seemed nervous when it came to Felix. Perhaps he hadn't told Jinx the whole story about what had happened between the two of them.
