ah well, not as bad as half of the people at my uni, every lesson someone has to twist what the lecturer is saying into something gross and/or perverted

So TVA has begun the daunting task of Playing through FF8 entirely without gaining ANY exp. No exp, no leveling. It hasn't been that bad so far. The only times I've had to reset are when attacking a soon-to-be-Carded monster and doing TOO much damage, resulting in the creatures death. sweatdrop

Otherwise, it's fun. biggrin

That's what I don't like about colleges...

Almost everyone there still tries to act like it's high school. stare

no level games are a pain in the butt, and i am so glad that i do not live in the colleges, i'm what's called a 'townie' i live in town, i'm an on campus student but i don't live on the campus, we are few and far between, i've only ever been inside one of the colleges once, and that was to have lunch with some of my friends, i never saw anything more than her room and the courtyard where we ate. people still wonder why i'm a social hermit at uni, even though the behaviour at uni is like how it is

I'm TRYING but....I didn't managed to not gain a level....in fact I've gained several levels....but I'm still under 20 so I'm taking that as a good sign....o.O

So after extensive research, it seems that there ARE at least 2 battles you get into that you cannot avoid getting experience from.

Now, the way you can avoid EXP from most battles are such:

~Bosses do NOT grant EXP, so no worries on whomping on them. mrgreen

~Carding creatures do not grant EXP, but they do grant AP and Items. Although certain creatures cannot be carded (humans/soldiers)

~'Break' magic causes the Petrify status effect. When all of the opposing enemies are Petrified, the game treats this as you Running away. Be careful about this though... if you do ANY damage prior to Petrifying the enemy, you WILL get EXP from it. Most enemy's can be Petrified, even ones you cannot retreat from, except for Bosses and a few other enemies(the Captain and two soldier in the Missile Base control room, for example).

Lastly, just run away. Make sure to NOT do any damage though. If you do at least 1 damage to the enemy, you will gain EXP.

I'm learning alot from this game doing it this way so it's good to see that it still has something new to offer. razz

But it'll work out when the final boss is super easy. smile
