Serpah hugged her, but she could breath "Dont be..just..promise me oyu'll never do this EVER again..I want to keep you..got that?" e asked and kissed her forehead "Remember this, without you, our lives would be empty..and we'd probably go insane" he chuckled

Aury whined and Looked Over To Wolf.

" I Love You Wolf" She Said As She Coiled Up Around Him.

Wolf layed on his bed in the hospitol, eyes closed, listening to the conversations around him. Too much pain was going through him, too many thoughts. He'd kept his promise...it was time to sleep. The doctors had said he was her husband, and Seraph had remedied the error, conserving the little energy Wolf had so that he didn't have to speak.

He felt Aury climb onto his bed and lay on him, for all her size...it didn't really matter, she didn't hate him...

Wolf moved his paw on the uninjured arm slowly to her tail and rested it on there, squeezing softly to let her know he heard.

Then he went back to sleep. All his vitals remained stable, but when the doctor's came in to check on him and flashed his pupils they were non-responsive, his ears had stopped perking and twitching, his nose wasnt sniffing.

The world's best hunter was in a coma.

Red layed in the fields on the wolves with his son and parents watching the events conspiring around Wolf. The Elder Wolf tredded up and spoke.

"You should be down there. You know this."

Red flattened his ears against his head at being repremanded by the Elder.
"It's not mah problem. There's nothin we can do fer him. He's not dead and he's not dying."

"But you stayed with that family to be the link between them and him for two years. If there's anybody who can console them its you."

"I'm sorry Elder Wolf... it's not mah place. He kept his promise and I kept mine. This was an unforseen event that couldn't be stopped. He gave his all fer that doll and Aury's happiness, and as far as I can tell he slipped away from being at total and complete peace with himself. Fer the first time in a LONG time. I think that after all this long time of missin her and rememberin her fallin asleep on him as a kitten, when she climbed on top of him it was a dream come true. And who would want a dream ta end? What better way then ta sleep ferever."

"What will you do, Gee Gah Gay?"

"I'll wait. Like I always do. If he needs meh he'll call fer meh. I already know where his consciousness is, I made sure it was safe as soon as his body stopped responding."

"As you wish, my child. You've always known best when it comes to your brother. But while we're on the subject of him, as if there is much else to chit chat about, what is he doing?"

"...He's back on the island. But only in spirit. He sees himself as he was two years ago, darker furred and uninjured. But he sees cloud kitten as well. To him, they are just running, setting that first trap over and over, she keeps getting her head stuck in a log, and he always tickles her till shes asleep. Only when she falls asleep she's as she is now, as is he."

"Why do you think he plays the scene like that?"

"There are a lot of things I CAN tell ye about mah brother. But there's also a lot of things I can't. Not any oath. I just don't KNOW why. Now that he's seen how she's grown I think he's proud of her, but he's probably afraid to seem frail with age. Felines do age slower than us canines. He's in no way out of peak condition, he just looks old...and I think he feels she won't take him seriously because of it."

"Is that what you know, or is that what you feel? Have you made contact with your brother since he left?"

"No... he doesn't know I've been watching him. And untill he calls fer meh I won't go ta his aid. This was his doing, whether he meant ta or not. He needs ta work this out fer himself, and I think him playing the scene this way is helping him cope. And ta answer yer question... I don't know Elder... I feel in mah heart everything I've said makes sense and is true, but mah mind tells meh its illogical."

"Then maybe the living still have yet to teach even the dead all we need to know. Find your answers and he will find his. Untill then, heed my words and go down to the living realm and calm thier fears when you can."

"Understood." He bowed and made his leave.

He stayed unseeable for a while in the hospitol room, completely silent, and watched the events play out in front of him. Waiting for an opportune moment.

Serpah placed a hand on her shoulder "He's alive Aury" he said an dlooked down at Wolf "But..he's in coma...he's in a sleep..that he cant wake up from"

Wolf was replaying the scene over and over. He knew it wasn't entirely real...but it couldn't be fake either. There was no way he was back on that island...he'd never go back again, but at least it wasn't just a dream, and there wasn't any fountain to pray at.

It was just him and little Aury.

As he ended another cycle he knew that he had been watched...by whom he didn't, but he could assume it was his brother. He didnt care. This was a paradise for him. Aury fell asleep on his chest, and became the large tigress he always knew she would. He stroked her fur and felt her tears falling on his face.

This wasnt real...She wouldn't be crying if she were asleep on him...

Wolf wanted to wake up now. But the island called him back again. This paradise had become a nightmare. He was finally happy that he got to see her all grown. And now he can't see her smile...only feel her tears.

He slid out from under Aury while she slept, before a new cycle would arise and she was small again. He walked to the edge of the forest...it wouldnt be there...it couldnt be there...

It was there.

Wolf howled in rage and agony at the sight of the fountain, throwing rocks into it, logs into it, anythign he could find that would fit, straining his muscles. But there the waters remained. Finally...broken to his soul...he looked in the waters.

He saw from the sideview himself, with Aury crying on him, begging for him to wake up. He saw Seraph trying to comfort her, and Glen looking lost. Wolf cried as he splashed the waters that would never let him go with his paws, seeing his warm, yet all but lifeless body laying like a stone.

Then he saw the doctors walk out shaking their heads, soon after his brother phased in.

Aury snapped her large large jaws at Red.

"try and make me leave" Aury growled.

she was feeling something new towards Wolf.
it was strange...and nice.
