"Nah..." Lin shook her head, "Besides I'm going to have to take the shirt off and..."

She then paused, she knew how clothes for wings worked, it either worked by having it closed by a zipper or button at the back, or having a low back so the user could pull the clothes upward but this worked for loose robes and dresses. She could pull it over but that required t-shirts and tunics and a midriff was made to be tight otherwise a breeze would make everyone see her bra.

"Uhm.... I just realized, my shirts are too tight to be put over wings," Lin blushed and was ready to whack her head on the nearest wall, "I have to get new clothes.... again...."

Earendil looked a little troubled at that. "If we were home, Tinuviel would be able to offer you some of her old clothes," he murmured softly. "But out here ... if you don't mind, I could give you one or two of my tunics ... or we could see if there's a tailor here, perhaps you could buy some new clothes of your own? They would be made to fit you, and you wouldn't have to return them to anyone."

It was a thought, anyways.

Not that she had to ever return her other clothes because they had been Tinuviel's handme downs something she had far outgrown a long, long time ago. Lin nodded at this though, that would be a good idea. Not like she had a choice....

"If you don't mind losing one or two of your tunics," Lin replied sheepishly.

Unless he wanted to sew up the holes that were going to be in them, she doubted he was going to get those back.

Earendil chuckled and ruffled Lin's hair affectionately. "Of course," he smiled at her. "I'll go get my bag from Aranel, and then I'll be right back, all right? You just sit tight and get some rest."

He smiled warmly, then rose and headed to the door.

"All right," Lin replied watching him leave.

She sighed, this whole changing business was more tiring than any of her normal growths. Lin couldn't help but wonder if back home her vase morphed while she was gone. Deciding it was too much of a headache to think about it, she fell over on her side onto the bed with her legs still hanging over from when she was sitting.

"What a pain.... growing wings, Dad will have a laugh."

Earendil was back in only a moment with both his bag and Lin's. He set Lin's bag on the floor and knelt down to rummage through his own, pulling out two of his spider-silk shirts.

"Here," he said, holding them out to Lin. "If you'll let me measure, I can put the cuts in for you ..."

Lin pushed herself off the bed so she was sitting with her back to Earendil so he could measure her wings.

"Thanks," she murmured, "I think they'll be safe to measure, at least the twitching had stopped."

Along with the itching which was probably why they were twitching in the first place.

Earendil held one shirt to Lin's back and used his fingers to measure where the slits for Lin's wings should go. He gave them some extra room, so that the wings could slide through easily enough if they were folded, and then, once they were marked, he used his knife to cut slits into both of the shirts.

"Here," he said, holding the shirts out to Lin. "Try them and see how that works."

He turned his head away to give her some privacy.

Lin looked over her shoulder nervously for a bit before pulling off her shirt. She almost forgot to untie her ribbons before doing so, otherwise it would have been hard to get it all off. Putting on the tunic wasn't as difficult as she feared. It helped that compared to her, the tunic could be like a short dressing gown, there was a lot of room for the newly grown wings so there wasn't as much pain as she thought there would be.

The joints went in first before the rest of it slide through, her wings instinctively ruffled its feathers being pushed through clothes for the first time.

"There, it fits fine," Lin rolled up the sleeves a bit, "And I didn't have to fight with it that much."

Once Lin said she was finished, Earendil turned around to see how it fit. He nodded, satisfied with the job he had done.

"If you'd like," he offered, "I can cut the sleeves a bit shorter for you ... you're used to short sleeves anyways, aren't you?"

He paused. "And you may want to tie the strings," he added, nodding towards her neckline. The shirt was big on her - which was a good thing - but if she leaned forward, she would be showing quite a bit more than he was sure she would like.

"Eep...."

Lin quickly tied up the strings, she had completely forgotten about the ties, shirts at home weren't normally made like this unless it was for style. She made sure they were good and tight lest she show something she didn't want to.

Lin blushed a bit, "The sleeves will be fine, I'm sure..."

Earendil chuckled softly. "Then I'll let you rest," he smiled. "When you're feeling up to eating or going out, Kaito and I are in the next room over, and if we're not there we'll be in the dining room. All right?"

He reached over and ruffled her hair again. "See you later," he grinned; and then he picked up his bag and headed towards the door.

"Later..." she murmured softly.

Lin smiled watching Earendil leave, she didn't know what she do without him be there. Besides the fact her life wouldn't be anywhere near as interesting she was sure. Flopping back down onto the bed she fell asleep having strange dreams of falling feathers and flying.

It would be a good while later until she woke up.

By the time Lin woke up, the others were all gathered in the dining room of the inn. The tables around them were empty, almost as if the other guests were afraid of sitting so near royalty, or perhaps so near the strange, winged catlike creature.

They were enjoying a wonderful meal with everything they could have asked for, but as they ate, Earendil still looked worried.

When Lin did wake up she was able to more calmly asset her new non-human situation. She looked down at herself and looked over her shoulder at her wings, they were definitely big and she was most certainly going to have to adjust fighting, but it wasn't as heavy as she first thought. It was like... wearing a heavy cloak she supposed, or maybe it was because her muscles were holding them up slightly?

She spent the next few minutes trying to arrange her wings like a cloak over her shoulders, like the way she had seen her mother do so growing up. Her newly awoke muscles wouldn't cooperate so she had to use her hands to pull them into place.

"It could be worse," she murmured, "There are ways to fight with big wings and it's harder to get me up behind because I can use them to whack people..."

Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of her stomach and she realized she hadn't eaten since that morning and even then she hadn't eaten that much. Much better balanced now that it was like a cloak, Lin made her way to the dining room.

It wasn't particularly hard to find them, even if Kaito hadn't been among them, the ring of empty tables made them easy to see.

"Okay... a bit weird," she murmured making her way towards the group.
