Their steel continuously clashing throughout the desert winds. Their shouts and grunts echoing endlessly. Their fighting...Indeed fierce and enlongated--it was as if it began to attract the dark clouds that soon engulfed the sky.
Darkness quickly settled in. Winds began to howl loudly and profusely. Suddenly, around them, dozens of small sand twisters began to form; dry lighting shooting from cloud to cloud.
"A dark day in Hell, wouldn't you say so, Jian?" Heavily breathing, I held my spearhead. Small gashes and cuts riddled my body, as did Jian's.
"Heh...Glad to see you've finally lightened up..." Smirking, he held his blades high; one severed in half. "...Although...I suppose your finally feel as if you're going to win this, aren't you, Kang?"
"And I'm glad to see you know me quite well, yourself..."
Standing in what it seems as if it were forever, I lunged forward; shooting a swirling pillar of fire, as did Jian. When our fiery blasts impacted, embers and waves of white and red flames went scorching all around, however as we began to close the gap between us, the intense heat began to smolder ash all around.
"You're not going to win this!!"
"You've still got a lot to learn, kid!!"
Clashing our hands together, swirling flames came spirting out our clamped hands. Indeed, they flared onto us, burning us so, yet we continued to hold our ground--unflinching.

Fire still coarsed throughout their hands, burning one another, yet they continued to hold on tight as their weapons still locked fiercely.
"You know, Kang...once you die...I will gladly step in for you as Runa's new husband."

"You don't get it, do you, Kang? I've already done so once before...I'm quite certain I can do so, again...And I'm certain it will be even easier to do so once I obtain your soul..."

"Heh...You shouldn't be to angry with my, Kang...That is, after all...you did actually originate from my soul..."
"What!?" Letting down my guard, I was easily overpowered; sent flying backwards. Laying upon the heated sands, my body smoldered. Eventually, I rose to my feet; burned and charred. "...You...! What did you...say!?"
"You haven't realized it yet? You don't get it, do you, Kang...I'm not originally from your being...You spawned off from me...That is why you are what you are..."
"What!? Impossible! You lie!! You're lying!!!!"
"Am I, Kang? Think about it...We have the same fighting style' same thirst for blood...We are of demonic origin and are able to use fire...Also, we shared the same host...Do you honestly think that is a coincidence?"
"I'm half human! And part wolf! You're a full-blooded jackal demon!! You can't be--I mean, I can't be!! NO!!!!!"

azrael ran throughout the desert. it seemed strange that his kitsune was acting up so often during this time when kazumas was as well. perhaps there was a connection. azrael did not have time to think about it right then however because he needed to find everyone.

I rode the horse at a quick pace through into and through the desert only stopping once or twice to get my berings and to give the horse a break. Hang on Kang, I'm coming! I thought giving the horse another quick break before continuing into the desert.
