Amara blinked. "A trip...?" The young girl was confused. What could be so sad about a trip? Her mother went on trips to the store before, and her uncle never looked sad. Her uncle went on trips out of town before, and her mother never looked sad. So what was so different about her father? She didn't understand. Her grip around Ed tightened a bit.
Alihi frowned. "Nometal... you really should rest. That hit to the head looked pretty painful, and I don't want you suddenly collapsing or being unable to fight in general." She said rather bluntly. "I'm sorry, but I think it would be better if you just focused on recovering."

"I don't see why everyone is asking to come along." Melethia said, "I only need a few people to come with me. One of them needs to be skilled with a bow and arrow."

"I am sorry, yet there are more important issues here. I won't sit around while we have allies being tainted. I won't change my mind Alihi, even if you all worry about me." Getting up with the help of the wall. "I will be fine."

The chimera looked sympathetically at Amara, hugging her in return. She was not certain of what next to say. That he'd come back? That was a blatant lie, if the guy was really 'gone'. Ed shifted through her mind, but her thoughts were more rooted on the present.
"Well, um... Don't worry about it too much. Okay? Your mommy needs you anyway. Hey, what's she doing right now?"

Alihi sighed and shook her head. "... Fine, fine. There's not much I can do to stop you... Just be careful if you do get in a fight, alright?"
Amara nodded slowly. "She's in the main room, I think... she told me to go explore..." She said softly, trying her best to cheer up by thinking of happy thoughts, like bunnies, flowers, and chocolate ice cream, all accompanied by a warm and beautiful sunny day. Simple and childish thoughts, really, but enough to turn the mood in a more positive direction.

"I am always careful in fights now that something came up...that made me actually think straight." Moving over and snagging another apple, then moving for the wall again.

"Ah, hm... I see..."
No, Ed didn't really see what was going on, but she figured something was going down. Surely they were up to something out there... And she needed to get her sword back! Ed felt that pang of foolishness descend upon her again, partially because she had hidden herself away while the others were out there, storming at each other and whatnot.
She also wanted to put her own book back where it was, but she didn't want to leave Amara, much less move.

"... ... Ah! Oh, I'm sorry..." Amara said sheepishly, immediately letting go of Ed and walking over to where the dictionary laid on the floor. Carefully, she closed the book with a "slam" and lifted it back onto the shelf, sliding it back on with some difficulty. She then brushed off the dust from the front of the dress with her hands, keeping a steady rhythm of brushing until she was satisfied that it was indeed spotless.

Blinking a few times, Ed rubbed the back of her head. "Ah...don't worry about it." She worked up another smile and pushed herself to her feet, inspecting her gauntlets momentarily. Amara must have been accustomed to strangely-garbed people or something... But then, Ed herself often forgot she was wearing a different outfit.
"I'll be right back. I left my book sitting around here somewhere too..."
She ambled off, retracing her way back to where the "Anatomy of the Avian" or something book was sitting around. Ed found it, still dog-eared at that particular page she stopped on, bent down to pick it up, then held it under her arm. She was going to borrow it for a little.
Ed came back to where Amara was as quickly as she could manage. "All right~ What do you plan to do now?"

Amara blinked. "Hm? Oh... uhm..." She rocked back and forth on her feet, her eyes closed. "... I dunno." She shrugged her shoulders, a faint, innocent smile on her face. "I don't know much about this place... so I was going to wander more..."

Ed's face split into a grin. "Wander it is, then. How about I give you a tour of the place? After all, the mansion's kind of big." She'd be able to keep tabs on Alihi's girl too. It wouldn't do letting her get hurt.
Ed adjusted the book beneath her arm. Possibly, she'd catch a few bits of current events...

Amara gasped, a grin to match Ed's appearing on her face. "R-really?! That'd be cool!" She clinged to Ed once more, then with one arm pointed to the doorway. "Let's go!~"

"You want any help with that tour? I am sure I can help." Bartre said coming over.
((one question. About the plot summary.))

[[I know what that's like! It is getting late...]] "Haha, I see you're eager!"
Ed patted the girl and followed her pointing finger to the doorway. She turned a right, checking to see Amara was still close behind, and began to speak as she switched her book to the other arm.
"Let's see, well, there's a spirit called Fefga that protects this mansion. I don't know much about her. But it's her blessing that keeps this place safe from monsters, so whenever you need to rest, it's always a good idea to take a stop at Fefga's."
Ed looked down the corridor, looking for something of interest to point out. Mostly she began indicating bedrooms and bathrooms along the way.
She stopped and turned around. "...Urr? You look familiar, but who're you?"[[What about the summary?]]

"Oh right. Don't think I ever introduced myself to you. My name is Bartre. Yours, and the one of the one who is getting the tour would also be nice?" He said looking down at Amara. She doesn't seem like one who would be any danger.
(Seems like the plot summary needs an update.)
