He nodded and thought for a moment. Since team work is the key, they really aughta hammer out something now. "Just one...and it's more in the lines of a sugestion..." He said before pausing a beat. "Why don't we work out a rudimentry stragety now." He suggested. "Having to plan on the fly isn't a real good way to find something that works...to many things can go wrong...and it's easier to simply tweak an exisiting plan than to have to formulate one on the spot."

"Mr. Samisen, the entire point of the excersise is to force you to think on your feet. You will not always have a chance to formulate a plan before you are thrust into combat. Now, are there any other questions?" Emma responded, turning her gaze on Markus, and then looking back to the group. Morgan stood off to the side for now, waiting for Emma to give him the signal to officially start the simulation.

"Just thought I'd throw that one out...." He said waiting for the simulation to begin. He was busily taking stock of their assorted skills and trying to formulate the best ways to use them. A tactition though he was not.

Sharp yellow eyes shifted to yet another robot. He charged straight at it. He ran with a sort of deadly grace, something only a few creatures could do. The two smaller toes on his raptor feet bairly touching the ground, his tail held out straight for balance.
He lept at the robot, running up its chest. He looked like he was going to simply do a backflip over it, but instead, he stabbed the top of its head with the two blades on his arm. Before fliping completely over it, both hands grabbed its shoulders, using his momentum to fling the robot over himself. the robot was atleast four times his weight, yet it was as if he was throwing someone half his weight, right into another robot, impailing it.
Another robot had snuck up behind him, brandishing four long claws on its hand. He turned, but not fast enough, as the claws raked across his back, going diagonaly downwards right to left. Tearing away his shirt to show the ornate dark-blue markings on his back, and also leaving long gashes in his blue flesh.
He gave one of thoes high-pitched scream-roars as he turned around to the robot, driving his right fist clear through its midsection before knocking it down and viciously tearing it apart. The long blades on his arm snapped off...one could see how much damage the metal was taking, missing pieces of the fingers and the entire thumb. His arm wasnt made to take this kind of abuse, being covered in light steel and not reinforced much.
With a loud SNAP the elbow gave way, rendering the metal limb ustless. Tetsuo stood up on the mangaled remains of the robot, reaching up to the shoulder of the arm and simply pulling it off...He flung the ustless limb at another robot's head, taking the head off easily. He then went back to taking out the robots. Doing just as well without his right arm.

Jacen couldn't help but to laugh as he watched the water get shifted around to drench Cathy. Not that he wasn't soak himself, but he did not deny the humor in the situation. Carefully, he stood up while holding Ana, and walked towards Cathy. "Hold on, I'll get a towel," he said as he passed through to the kitchen. With one smooth motion, he opened a nearby drawer, pulled out a towel, and tossed it Cathy's direction. Suddenly, out of the blue, he was startled by a poke in the middle of his back.
"Who or what....oh. Hey Kitty, what's going on?"
"Nothin...just s'posed to be keeping an eye on Ana, do you mind?," she asked as she motioned for Ana to come over to her. The kid didn't hesitate to shift her weight forward to be caught by Kitty.
"Not at all, no sir," Jacen said as he shook his arm out. It was a bit numb from holding the baby for so long, and it was just starting to tingle slightly.
"What's being made for dinner?"
"Dunno....Ev?! What's cooking?"
"Beef stew!!," she hollered back.
"Ew. No. I'll pass," Kitty said as she and Ana phased through the walls and on their way.
While rubbing his shoulder, Jacen started to feel anxious...nervous almost. The itch was starting to come back. The promise of a battle was starting to really get the old adrenal glands working. "...I never thought I'd see the day...," he said to himself while starting to head towards where Penance was throwing things into the pot. "Hey," he said quietly while giving her a hug, "I know you said that you'd get dinner, but...need any help? I'm getting restless and I need something to do."

Penance just shook her head as Cathy had been drenched. She watched Jacen tap his fingers on the table and come over to help her. She pushed a cutting board towards him while she stewed some meat.
"Got the adrenaline itch?" She asked him knowing she felt it too. That's one reason she had taken to cooking to work her hands. Something in her regretted pushing off the battle with Jacen, "I've got it too. Keep her hands busy over there."
She saw Cathy arch an eyebrow and realized what she said, "Shush, you know what I mean."
Between the both of them, Jacen and Penance finished dinner in some kind of record. It didn't turn out badly either. Pennace had to be proud of that meal. She was almost famished so she would have eaten it anyway. Kitty had taken Ana away so the three of them kicked back and enjoyed a little dinner themselves. All in all, Penance was surprised that Cathy really wasn't that bad when she put aside the rough attitude.
"Just throw those in the dish washer," Penance said when they were done and she put the rest of their dinner in containers for others to eat if they wanted. She stretched her arms to stretch her spine out when she was done like she was just waiting for something, getting ready.
"Want to get out of here for a bit," Jacen asked her as she finished in the kitchen. Penance nodded, "Yea, nothing too far. I want to go spy the construction out back. I haven't snooped around there yet. You should probably go change your shirt. It's still wet."
"Will do, I'll meet you out back," He left her for a bit and Penance headed out back under the evening sun. She went over to where the new wing of the Institute was being build to see what was going on there. She knew Jacen was near as soon as he walked out of the door.
"I brought you something," He handed her a blade. No, it was the blade. It was the one he had bought her. She smiled as he put it in her hand and she weighed it back and forth. Her adrenaline pumped back up as she had thought she lost it over the past year.
"I thought it was gone," She grinned as she treated it like an old friend.
"I have all of yours."
She looked over at him with her patented grin, "Well you know what this means."
She pointed the blade at him, "Engaurde."

Cathy chuckled softly watching the two of them. They looked so cute tip toeing around each other like that. Reminded her of her and her Ex. The smile faded and she shook her head. God what a stupid mistake that had been. But Jacen was different...he was good for Penny. She walked back to the kitchen and stared at the dishes. "Hmmmm.........nope....." With that she walked from the kitchen leaving the dishes.

She sat there for a while, thinking of nothing in particular. She jolted slightly when she felt a hand on her shoulder. Glancing around, she saw it was slimply an elderly lady. She gave a faint smile.
"You look so lonesome, hun. Mind if I sit a spell with you?"
"Oh, um, no. Go right ahead."
The woman took a moment as she let her arthritic joints settle her into the seat across the table. She had that classic blue, old-lady type hair, all pulled back into a bun on the back of her head. Her eyes were grey, her skin fair and wrinkled. "I don't think I've seen you around here before, are you new in town?"
"No ma'am, I'm from here...I guess."
"You guess?"
"Happy Endings."
The woman's face took a sympathetic look to its features. "Oh, I understand. How old are you, sweety?"
"Eighteen."
"I see. You seem like such a sweet girl, though. I wonder why no one sought to adopt you."
"I...uh...don't want to talk about it."
The woman paused for a moment and studied TC. The redhead began to get nervous, ringing her hands in her lap. She lowered her head and sighed. "Oh my...I think your cocoa has gotten cold." With a slow, trembling hand, the old woman reached out and placed her hand around the mug on the table. A few seconds passed, and the drink began to steam once more.
TC glanced up, to her lap, then quickly to the mug again. Surely, her eyes played tricks on her. Slowly she looked up at the woman, who sat with her hands folded neatly in front of her.
Glancing at the clock, the woman began to rise. "It's getting late, and my great-grandchildren will wonder where I am." She leant down and placed a small stack of bills in the space between TC's hands and her stomach. "Be careful, child. Perhaps you should go to the school. I can only hope that they still teach that one's gifts don't have to be used for warfare." She placed a gentle kiss upon TC's brow and walked away.
A few long beat passed before she took a look at the money handed to her. It was one hundred dollars in tens and twenties. Quickly, she refolded this and shoved it in her pocket, downed the rather warm cocoa and left. Where she had meant to go at that moment, she had no idea.

"So be it," Jacen said as he looked directly down the blade and at Penance. Taking two steps back, Jacen concentrated for only a moment, but it seemed like an eternity. He hadn't really used his energy weapon on a long time, eschewing it for a more hands on approach. In reality, that eternity was only a few seconds as Jacen felt the energy crackle in his hands as he formed a massive blade the size of a Japanese No-Dachi. "Are you ready?"
"Have been for a bit now," Penance said as she dropped the blade lower and started to circle around her opponent.
"Good..........good......." With that, Jacen stood still and just followed Penance with his eyes. While he watched, he was waiting. Waiting for the opportunity to strike. Normally, he would not take the first shot, but this didn't seem like normal circumstances. And so, when he lost track of Penance out of the corner of his eye, he turned around and swung the blade as hard as he could towards her direction.
Metal clashed against energy as his initial shot was deflected away and Penance attacked. Jacen dodged the slice barely and levelled another shot at her, only to have that deflected to the side and to be kicked hard in the gut.
"Hehehheeh," Jacen said between sharp breaths, "Excellent." For whatever reason, he wore a broad smile on his face as he picked up his attack. Blades met repeatedly, only to have the two at a relative standstill. Shot after shot was deflected, blocked, tossed aside, or countered. And for whatever reason, Jacen could feel like he was holding back a little bit. He couldn't shake the fact that he was fighting his love like this. He needed to get over that, but as much as he was trying, nothing was working.
"You know.......whoops!," Jacen said as he cocked his head to the side to avoid a rather hefty punch thrown his way. When he tried to retaliate, he was met with a block, a headbutt, and a sweep that took him down to a knee. When Penance tried to strike him while he was prone, Jacen caught her wrist with his freehand, and lunged from his position to throw a shoulder into her gut. While she was momentarily doubled over, he tried to take a swipe at her, but that too was blocked and he was met with a heavy punch to the side of his jaw. It was heavy enough to make him take a few steps back.
While chuckling through clenched teeth, Jacen rubbed his jaw tenderly. He knew he'd have a bruise after that particular shot. "Damn, Ev....," Jacen said, "That's going to leave a mark."
"It's all part of the game," Penance said as she regrouped for a moment.
"And you should know that this is as well!" Jacen let the sword in his hand dissipate as he, without warning, fired off a massive discharge at Penance. The only thing he could think when he fired off the blast was, "Dodge this!" And he knew that even without having alot of time conjuring his sword, if he needed it, he could have it in a matter of a few seconds. It was just the matter to see if his energy assault would land.

Cathy was drawn by the sounds of a fight. And she found it, Penny and Jacen were squaring off. Not one to pass up the opertunity to study a rivals abilities she decided to hang around to watch. They'd never know she was there either. Penny may be observant, but Cathy was extremely good at going about undetected. Sneaking into the battle zone invisible she lurked off to the side. She pursed her lips watching the action from a safe corner. Penny was good, but Jacen looked like he was pulling punches. *Aaaaawwww......what a softy....* She smiled at herself in amusement.

Taking a deep breath, Kris stops practicing, looking up at the sky. Perhaps soon he would find his place here, but he'd have to look for it, waiting arund wasn't working. His resolve renewed, he heads back to the mansion. As he enters, he runs into Scott Summers. "I was begining to wonder where you'd gone," he remarks before becoming serious. "Kris, everyone at this institute contributes in some way, we have teachers, cooks, and so on. And you need to find a way to help out. We have a couple open positions, but I think most aren't your 'cup of tea'." He nods, then an idea strikes him. "how would you like to be the librarian? Kris blinks, having jobs thrown at him wasn't a new experience, it just tends to be annoying. "...Well, that sounds like a fine idea." He gives a slight smile. "I would be honored to." He nods, and they shake on it. Parting from Scott, he climbs the stairs, streaching. Practcing for hours made him very sore, so a nice hot bath appealed to him greatly. As he enters his room, he strips off his sweat drenched clothes as he enters the bathroom, noting that perpiration didn't make his hair look much better. "......" Sighing, he draws his bath, and as he lowers himself into it, he leans back and closes his eyes, feeling relaxed.

Gen continued with the simulation along with the other few trainees. She was getting more comfortable freezing the robots. Not sure if she could ever freeze a person, but at least now she was getting use to her powers enough to not worry about mechanical objects. She took a moment to watch Tetsuo fight and was surprised to see him. His arm worried her. Was it really possible to get injured in the simulations?
Regina went over to logan during a small lull. "Hey bossman, I think the kids are getting tired. Shouldn't we stop for the night?"
"Hn... Yeah, I guess. Simulation off. Code Ginerva." Logan answered, stopping the simulation. "Anyone that was injured in any way, go to Hank. He'll fix you up."
Regina sighed, she thought these rooms were a bit too dangerous for new kids, but Logan was the boss a that time...

Standing as the bath water drains away, Kris looks in the mirror , his hair is staring to get in his eyes a little, but nothing to worry about. Blowing away a few strands, he begins drying himself, wishing he had a good book to read. However, in the next instant, he remembers he's the insitute's librarian. Laughing at the irony, he looks through his clothes for something sutable to wear that would be comortable. Finding a white t-shirt with 'Manchester United' over the heart. The shirt had been a gift from one of his college friends, a football adict. Pulling un underwear and sock, he searches for pant, deciding on a pair of slightly faded kakkis. Looking in the mirror, he reminds himslef that these clothes aren't what the librarians he'd met wore, but oh well. Leaving his room, he heads for the library, decending the steps, humming good naturedly to himself. He hadn't had time to read anything as of late, so he doesn't want to miss a golden opurtunity to do so. Entering the library, he's struck with an always annoying thought, what to read? Deciding on something light and funny, he remembers someone telling about 'The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy.' With no other ideas, he shrugs, why not. As he sits in one of the overstuffed armchairs and opens the book, he pauses for a moment to enjoy the carefree life he has become able to live.

Kade watched from a distance. The simulation of robots attacking. The students seemed to be doing pretty well but he didn't notice much of team work. "Hmmm....." He seemed to just observe it was his first time to take witness of this simulator they called the danger room. He knew some day it would be his turn to participate in these events. Kade his right hand on his left arm. The coldness of the stone pulsed through his stone like skin. This made him think alot. Why him.

"Hey." she said as she appeared next to him. "Why the heavy thought?"
