Amelia let Rhys pull her into the library, looking at a table absently before focusing her gaze back on Rhys. She was shocked; his face, his eyes... nothing seemed like his usual self. She listened in silence as he started speaking, breaking the eye contact by looking at his feet. Amelia clasped her hands together, opening her mouth to speak as he finished, voice rising, though his fist hitting the wall made her flinch.

"No..." Amelia shook her head. She stepped towards him, putting a hand on his shoulder. "It's not going to do anything... blaming yourself for this. They could find a way... there must have been neighbors, friends of yours willing to help support them..." Amelia put both hands on his shoulders and turned him around. He was taller than her, so she tilted her head up and looked directly at his face, gaze determined. "You can't blame yourself. Blaming yourself and falling into depression, it won't change anything. You have to look forward. Remember what you have here now. Just think; if you hadn't come here, you wouldn't have met anyone here from Elibe or anywhere else that wasn't on Tellius!"

Ed stared on and on. All these people, all so depressing! She remembered when she was like that. But then the younger Soren had come along, and she'd changed. What connection was there? He didn't even had a story when he'd come around. He didn't know anything. And where was he now? He was normally around for this kind of stuff.

The wolf sat helplessly. All these sad people, friends and strangers alike... She couldn't connect with them and she couldn't help them. They all sounded like they wanted to go! But maybe some of them didn't plan to go. Not that they could, right? She didn't want them to go. They were like family. They couldn't go, even if they had a choice.

Ed cried quietly, her ears folded and her head on the ground as the Ice King walked by. No, they shouldn't be sad, they shouldn't want to go home. She didn't want them to...

Alihi frowned, noticing Ed's sorrow. She wandered over to where the wolf laid, kneeling next to her. The tactician didn't know what to say, and instead just kept kneeling there silently.

Fire Dragon went to check on Nils but found his bed empty. He went to search for him, relieved to see him eating. "Are you feeling better, Nils?"

Valter noticed Ed looking at him out of the corner of his eye. He gave her a sad smile, unable to muster anything better.

"It's not the same," Rhys responded. "Sure, there could be others around, but... I was their provider, their supporter. I've let them down now. It took me all this time to realize it."

He turned around, pacing toward the window, gazing out at the darkness.

"Friends I left behind..."

He was about to mention Mia among them--So much for "Man of your destiny", huh?--but bit his tongue. Now that he was here, with Amelia in this room, he wasn't sure Mia made that much a difference now.

"My friends, my parents... they depended on me once, and..."

He sighed.

"Don't get me wrong. I love what I have here now. I have close friends. I have you. I have... people I can always be close with. ...I never had that where I came from. I just... never realized that in escaping my past life, I was letting down everyone else around me. I couldn't wait for them. I just HAD to fulfill my own desires first. ...I'm a Priest. I'm not SUPPOSED to put myself ahead of others. The world's not supposed to revolve around me. But I let it happen anyway."

Nils smiled upon seeing Fire Dragon. "I'm feeling a lot better!" He continued to eat, not caring what he was eating or if he was making a mess. If he was, he'd just clean it up later.

Alihi absentmindedly and gently petted the wolf, holding back her own tears.
"... I don't know what I should do. I love it here, but... I just want to know if my family's alright..." She murmured.
