Yes it is. :]
Really being a sane fangirl, is more like being just a fan. Something like that. sweatdrop

Oh, I have a random question! How come 'fangirl' and 'fanboy' seem to have such different meanings? I think 'fanboy' just means that you're a major fan of something, but 'fangirl' usually seems to be used in a way that means you have an attraction to a character (or a pairing). Like, you could be a Kingdom Hearts fanboy, but a fangirl would go for a certain character, like Riku. Or at least that's the way people seem to use the words.

I dunno why that is either.
When I hear 'fanboy' I think the overly-obsessed type that will just argue about pointless s**t and defend whatever fandom/character they like to the death. xD And I think of 'fangirl' the same as Equine does.

when I think of fanboy and fangirl I just think one is a boy that's a fan of things and the other is a girl that is a fan of things. I've never really thought past that. XD

When I think of fangirl, the first word that comes to mind is 'rabid.' When I think of fanboy, the first word that comes to mind is 'otaku.'
...
I really don't know why this is. :/

I think of Fanboy as a guy who lives in his mom's basement and loves star terk/star warz a little too much.
I think of a fangirl as someone who likes a character, weather it's for looks, or coolness, or kick arseness.
It's different if you think you really love a character. I mean I know it sounds crazy, or impossible but... >>
Anyone ever fall in love with a fictional character?
