Lin scrambled on looking up at him eagerly, though she understood what he meant. That wouldn't be any fun if she couldn't even begin her climb.

"No... I wouldn't," she replied back, "But now at least I can get a bit far," she paused, "But if I fall asleep later wake me up."

Earendil chuckled as he picked her up and held her close to his chest and headed out of the Dining Hall towards the outside.

"Usually if you fall asleep," he replied with amusement, "it means that you need to rest ... but if it's something important, I'll wake you up."

Silvrendir nodded and grinned, his green eyes sparkling excitedly, and he scrambled up onto Lore's other hand, settling himself comfortably across from his sister.

Elnara returned then with her bag, dressed far differently than she had been when she had gone upstairs. Instead of her tunic and pants, she was wearing a pale green spider silk dress with billowing sleeves. A low neck and back revealed several long, thick scars, but they were partially hidden by a silk scarf that matched the colour of the dress and was wrapped loosely around her neck.

"All ready?" she asked Lore and her children as she approached them again.

Now he understood writers when they wrote about swallowing their own tongue. So many things he use to read on the abstract concept of emotions and now he could understand them! Lore oculd not help but stare at Elnara, the dress style was so far removed from what she normally wore.

He coughed, akwardly and nodded, "Yes," he replied finding his voice, "I think we're all ready."

He rose form his seat, watching the playful fabric move to her form.

"But what if I miss something?" Lin asked.

After all, she didn't want to miss the rest of the day because she slept. What if she missed a person, or missed the chance to do something
?

Earendil chuckled again.

"Well, if I think there's something important that you wouldn't want to miss, I'll wake you up," he promised. "But if there's nothing happening and it's all just boring, then I'm going to let you sleep, all right?"

Elnara cleared her throat and blushed a bit, fidgeting a bit with the scarf.

"I ran into Luthien on my way up," she said, for some reason feeling the need to explain, "and she was worried I was dressed too warmly ..."

She cleared her throat again, then laughed softly, nervously, and slipped one arm around Lore's waist. "Come on," she murmured. "Let's go."

From her seat in the crook of Lore's arm, Idhril giggled. "That's real pretty, Mama," she said brightly.

"She's right," Lore replied softly, "It is."

Very, very pretty he thought to himself, though it seemed in the times the scraft would reveal a bit, that she was hiding her own scars. Even Lore, thorugh knowing Elnara, knew there were times he should be grateful, he had never been hurt that badly. At least not physically.

Lin nodded, allowing for that at least, "All.. right...." Lin murmured

After all, how could she argue against something like that? Especially if she was going to go to sleep there wasn't going to be much she would be able to do about it.

Elnara blushed even more deeply, but said nothing as she led the way to the front of the castle, and outside.

A short while later they arrived at the city. The white walls of the buildings and the city itself almost seemed to glow in the early morning sun, and though they were passed on both sides by elves going in every which direction, very few of them bothered to give them a second glance.

The first level of the city was the beginning of the business section. The first three layers were made up of the market, the craftsmanship shops, and then the artisans. On each side of the white marble street were elves calling out their wares, and Elnara relaxed as she felt the familiarity of it all stealing through her.

Finally arriving at the base of the mountain, Earendil grinned and set Lin on the ground just in front of the first step.

"Here we are," he announced, rather unnecessarily. "Away you go." He chuckled a bit and tucked her bunny under his arm.

Lin giddy with excitement pounced on the first step, wiggling her body up onto it. She had tried going up the stairs in the inn by myself though she was sure they weren't as tall as the stairs here. Though climbing on large rocks helped too, but still, it took a bit of manunvering to get herself up. This is how she would try to climp up the steps, placing her arms up and lifting herself up, slowly a step at a time.

Peered around in interest, for it was like the shopping district back home, the business section, but at the same time it was not. There were no smells coming from the crowded city where other forms of technology was use, there was only noise of the people going about their daily lives, and perhaps in a way the oddest difference for him there was all just one race. As far as he could tell there were no other races to be had.

Elnara smiled up at Lore and reached up to take Silvrendir from his shoulder. "It's a quiet day today," she commented. Then she looked up at him again, and her smile widened. "So what would you like to do first?" she asked him. "Visit my grandparents? Or my old friend?"

Really those were the only two things that she particularly wanted to get done today, anything else was secondary.

Earendil chuckled softly as he watched Lin struggle up the steps.

"Not too quickly, now," he warned her with a smile. "Pace yourself, don't use up all of your energy right away. You'll get further that way."
