Upon the sight of Alexz, Rogue let out a slight gasp, her eyes widening, more out of concern for a friend than the sheer ghostly appearance of her friend.

I would like to hear your tale of hell, dear friend. And having a drink with me later tonight is not an option.

Xandra is crossing a line right now that she will regret. I feel her bloodrage. I feel her control slipping, and in turn, I feel my own.

As soon as we're done here, there is another lycan to question.

"Good evening, Alexz."
Rogue moved out of the door way and let Alexz inside. As their eyes met, there was a flicker of rage beneath the surface as she thought of how many of her kind she had buried in the past weeks. She understood death, and she also understood war. She was no stranger to either, yet it still had a tendency to eat at whatever heart she had left.
"Our friend, Meredith, here has been very cooperative under the circumstances, and has proposed helping us in our ..investigation of this breaking of the peace between the vampires and lycans and who is behind this charade. You know I am a very instinctual being, and I would like to take her at her word, and accept the assistance of her and her resources...but you know I'm no fool. I cannot pretend that if I am wrong to trust, I am only arming an enemy. Let me know the truth of her actions."

The spit landed to the right of Xandra, his vomit continued to reek throughout the room. "I was hoping as much..."
Xandra moved with inhuman speed and slid the syringe into his left eye. She pushed in a small portion of the black liquid in, and then switched to pull open his right eye, and slid the rest into the cornea.

This particular cocktail was full of acinite and a few other acids that would temporarily eat away the eyesight...at least for a few hours on a lycan who's ability to heal was impaired by the high amounts of silver nitrate coursing in his system. The dose was small, and would only really affect the area where they were targeted, and...in this case, Ceon's eyes.

She pulled back from him, a sadistic smile on her face.

"As I said earlier, it was a mere suggestion. If you are not comfortable with it that is perfectly fine." It was probably better to have Rogue assume she was more of a threat to her race than she actually posed. It wasn't that Eden wasn't capable of permanently ending any vampire who grew too bold in her wake, it was that she, like Rogue, still held onto compassion. She hadn't been a lycan nearly as long as Rogue had been a vampire but the struggle for retaining humanity was ever present with her wolven side residing over her and compassion was something foreign and strange to her wolven counterpart.

Under the circumstances she'd been brought here and the way she was now being detained, it was difficult enough for Meredith to be pleasant and cooperate. Considering she'd been shot, kidnapped and was now sitting here with a silver iv injection and shackles that protruded into her skin and had still offered her assistance to Rogue, she was doing very well. However, once the howls of Ceon began echoing loud enough to reach her sensitive ears even over the drumming of the club music above, it set her blood on fire. While Ceon and her didn't have the best history, that didn't mean she was going to condemn him to death in this place or leave him behind. She was not going to stand for him being tortured no matter how crude and resistant he was likely proving to be.

Ceon's howl managed to jar the lycan despite her bonds and she managed to accidentally cut into herself as a result, releasing a quiet growl. It was evident she'd become unsettled again as her eyes reverted to the amber colour that was the wolf's, signifying she was on high alert and running just as much on instinct as rationality. "Until I am guaranteed Ceon is not going to be killed and makes it out of here alive, my cooperation here ends. As much as I would love to help you and allow your little psychic buddy into my head you likely don't realize I've learned many of the same tricks she knows. You are free to underestimate what I've been taught and suffer potential repercussions or you could make this easy on all of us and assure me he will not be harmed any further and will be released."

As far as Eden knew, Rogue's agenda was to interrogate Ceon since he was a lycan and then silence him afterward so he wouldn't run back to inform the rest of his pack. She wasn't willing to cooperate if his life was in jeopardy. If that got her killed along with him then so be it, at least she'd made her stand and had tried to spare him.

While her body was certainly weakened by the nitrate, her mind was not. She was ever aware that Alexz and Rogue were communicating amongst themselves, just not able to decipher what as they'd blocked her from hearing. That, however, didn't mean she couldn't do the same with Ceon and in her anxiousness for his safety she was quick to reach out to him. 'Ceon? Are you alright? What's happening? I can hear your howls from here? Do they have you shackled as well? I am too weak to escape, the bullet they shot me with was not nitrate, it was some more potent version.'

Rogue's body tensed and her legs went weak for a moment as she gripped the table. Xandra's rage pushed at her own inner animal. Their shared blood and link was crippling Rogue in the moment. The edges of her vision seared with red, and her fangs felt heavy in her mouth, and her eyes began to glow bright green in the dimly lit room. She heard Ceon's screams and tried to clear her mind.

She gripped the table to remain standing, the lack of blood she had consumed since they had returned, and the still healing wounds on her body ached.

Xandra was quite possibly about to destroy any leverage they had gained. Her eyes leveled Meredith's.
"I can assure you, he will leave here alive and well, you have my word. And if you are not satisfied with my word, I offer a blood oath. Alexz, continue, please. It seems one of my own has gotten out of hand."
The last of her words were a low growl.
"If you'll excuse me, Meredith."
Rogue stood straight and shot a look to Alexz before exiting the room and making her way down the corridor and to Ceon's room.

Ceon's mouth was agape with shock as the murky fluid took away his sight almost instantly. His body lurched about uncontrollably, causing the spikes to poke holes around his neck. His eyes quickly became cloudy and grey. He could feel Edith reaching out to him and did his best, with what little energy he had, to contact her, She...she took my sight...so much silver..I'll...I'll kill her...

Ceon felt so weak. Never in his life had the much nitrate been pumped into his body, let alone the other myriad of chemicals. All he had on his mind that moment was the thought of disembowling this vampire and ripping out her jaw.

Rogue slammed open the door to the room Ceon was being held in and stood, her eyes ablaze of emerald as she stared daggars at her sister.
Xandra stared back in challenge.
A very inhuman roar escaped Rogue's lips, her fangs bared.
"Jebem ti seme i pleme, kučko!"
Rogue moved with vampiric speed and crushed Xandra's windpipe while slamming her against the wall. With whatever psychic power she had gained over the years, to communicate and to help cage her inner Sanguinarian, she held Xandra's mind and squeezed her mind through the connection they both shared as siblings, initiating as much pain as the body could feel by shredding bits of her parietal lobe.

In an instant her fangs were at her sisters throat and as Xandra was incapable of moving, she drained her to the point of death, and dropped her, letting her body crumple to the floor.
Volim te. Ako ste bili neko drugi, ti bi bio mrtav. Ti povuci majstoriju kao da opet i ja ću te ubiti.
She breathed deeply for a moment and looked over to Ceon trying to recollect what to do or say. The empty syringe lay on the floor. She looked to Milos who had witnessed everything.

"Turn down the nitrate drip and decrease the sedatives."
She moved over to him, past vomit on the floor.
"I apologize for my...sestra. Sometimes her manners fail her."
Rogue took another cup of water, and offered it to him while taking a clean rag and wiping off some of the vomit left over on his shoulder and mouth.
"Your eyes will be fine in a few hours. And...contrary to popular belief, we have no intention of killing you, or keeping you here. The only reason for all of this was that I want information. The peace that has been severed between our species through a bombing of a vampire safehouse is...making it unsafe for everyone."

The door slamming open caused her to jolt her eyes to the frame in the doorway. Instinctively she bared her fangs back at Kaei, the Sanguinarian beasts within them were challenging each other for dominance. If she had any actual control in the moment, she would have backed down immediately out of rational thought, but too much of the reckless monster had control.
The roar echoed in the room, and Xandra answered again, challenging. The words that followed from Kaei were in one of their native tongues, and through them, she felt as if they were pulled back in time to their Balkan lands before any of this life had touched them...before they had moved to France...

In an instant she was held up against the wall, her windpipe caved in. She would have screamed at the initial onslaught of pain, but the iron hand over her throat stayed still. She began to move to try and break free from Kaei's grasp, but a pressure slid over her mind and then as if fingers had snapped, every bit of her was on fire...a pain she had never known flayed her nerves, and she could do nothing to stop it. She then felt the fangs rip into her neck, and felt the fire as her blood left her. It felt as if the inside of every vein were rubbed raw with sandpaper.

She hit the floor but barely noticed, sliding down, a crumpled mess on the floor. She had no strength to even lift herself. Everything she had done was because her inner monster had gained control. With her last ounce of energy, she whispered to Kaei, "Žao mi je, sestra..."
After the words left her lips, her world fell into blackness as she lost consciousness.

A heavy sigh of relief passed Ceon's lips when he smelled the dead vampire. His hand waved around slowly, trying to find the water. When he reached, he held it close to his mouth and lapped it up groggily with his tongue. He could feel his body purging the silver, a sign that his healing abilities were returning to a point. The holes on his neck formed tiny circular scars that formed a sort of ring around his neck. Yet another addition to the collection. Ceon gazed up towards the source of Rogue's voice and spoke softly, "The raid...yes, I remember. A group of heavily armed vampires drove the majority from our home, our territory. I can not tell you where we reside now, but some wanted vengeance. They blew it up, and I punished them for their insolence...our pack needed guidance...someone to lead them..."

"Milos..."
She nodded her head at Xandra slumped on the floor.
Five days in solitude. Bring her to the fifth floor. 517.
The room Rogue was sending her to was...well. She would be restrained, and a fitted muzzle would be placed on her mouth. She would be covered in blood, yet unable to feed. She would have periodic visits from psychic vampires to strengthen her control over her bloodlust. Xandra was on the brink of snapping tonight, and yes, punishment was required, but control needed to be regained.

Milos went to Xandra and carried her out the door and down the corridor.

"So you're under the impression that a group retaliated in vengeance. The initial area of the safehouse was in lycan territory...which I'm sure we can agree has been in flux due to lack of a consistent leader the past several years...So, am I under the impression that you are the pack leader, then?" Her words were more matter-of-factly spoken as she was verbally processing out loud.

"Also, I didn't know a group of vampires had...moved some lycans out of their home. What would be the purpose, other than to cause chaos? So whoever these factions are on both sides...was it two groups acting separately, or is there some agenda...."
PostPosted: Thu Jan 31, 2013 12:03 am

Ceon's tone became less sullen and more serious. He had bitten and clawed his way to the top within the existing lycans, and became renowned as the new leader, their alpha male. "That WAS true...they attacked it after we were driven from our homes. But yes...I am the new leader. As for the vampires, we had never found out whose coven they belonged to. They were all wearing body armor and most were wearing helmets. The only reason I can think of why they would do this is the same reason a lot of vampires do it; they hate my kind."

"Congratulations...it is more than a mere title, after all." Her words were sincere. She had seen the rise and fall of many lycan leaders in her time as a Deathdealer, and knew that they fought for dominance of their pack every day.
"Well, I can assure you, they acted outside of the will of the elders of the New York coven. It is true, Deathdealers hunt and kill lycans, but we also exterminate our own kind who are unwilling to abide by the laws, both the laws that the vampires live by, and the laws that are forged between the races. Most that are...eliminated are rogues in nature. We have an obligation to remain hidden. We've seen the destruction caused otherwise."

She pulled out the silver nitrate IV and the sedative IV.
"So, I suppose the next option is to supposedly work to find this covert branch who is set on destroying any chance of peace between our kind. None on my side will believe a peace has been reconstructed until we have whoever's responsible on a platter. I propose the leadership working together on this. We can pool our resources and keep our ears to the ground."

She slid in an IV again into each arm.
"This is going to burn like hell, but it will flush your system much quicker of the silver nitrate."

"Little psychic buddy?" she repeated slowly, emphasizing each syllable, a smile tugging at her lips, "Your condescension is always much appreciated."

Shooting a look of concern to Rogue as she left to handle the hostile situation created by her sister, she spoke into her mind, "Best of luck. I think this should be easy enough to control, but what exactly would you like me to probe for? Wouldn't want to waste too much time sifting through her thoughts and memories."

She took a moment to observe the woman before her, whose blatant arrogance in the presence of the psychic vampire elder made the boasting of her psychic abilities rather amusing; it was as if she were an ant boasting of her strength to a human directing a beam of light over her head with magnifying glass. The psychic abilities Alexz possessed were a part of her nature, and unlike Meredith's, they were not learned but developed and strengthened over time, most notably with the help of the former psychic elder, Velante. Though all supernatural creatures were capable of developing their psychic abilities to a certain extent, they could very rarely, if ever, develop them to as high a level as those for whom being psychic was completely natural.

"Tricks? They may seem so to you, as you have had to train your mind to learn them, but that isn't a word I would use to describe my abilities," she spoke, her tone measured and consistent, "Though I am sure the abilities you possess are quite impressive for one of your kind, I think you forget to whom you speak."

Tilting her head, she met Meredith's eyes, "I maneuver through the mind just as easily as you shift into a wolf and run on all fours; so you proposing that your limited abilities could cause me to suffer any repercussions is as intimidating as if I proposed to you that I can be as tough as any wolf if I were to get on all fours and howl at the moon. So let's not bother with the threats and hostility, hmm? Though let me make it very clear, though preferred, your cooperation is not necessary in the least."

"But being that you are intelligent and reasonable, I don't believe it will have to come to that," arching a brow, Alexz continued, "As Rogue explained, there has been an unwarranted breach in the treaty. Firstly, you are certain you have no knowledge of the identities of those involved? Haven't come across any suspicious activity in either the Hunter or Lycan factions?"

The hunter leader remained silent, her amber eyes only bearing warning to anyone who dared tread too close. Having a vampire elder inside her head was not in the least an appealing idea and the wolf within her subconsciously paced. It did not like being restrained, not only was it restrained by Eden's human consciousness but it was physically chained down as well. It was aware of everything happening just as Meredith was. All it could do was wait.

Meredith hadn't been born with her psychic tendencies, however, being reborn as a lycan had granted her a new consciousness with a different set of assets. Her abilities were not nearly as honed as Alexz's but that wasn't to say she was to be brushed aside. She had devoted years to sharpening her power and learning how to access them through the wolf. It was a give and take relationship of sorts between the two beings which resided within her.

As Alexz went on to tell her how foolish she was to suggest she might be able to stand against her, Edith completely tuned the elder out. It seemed pretty evident the vampire relied heavily on one form of arsenal and that was her mind. Her body? If she was free, it would likely prove easy enough to shatter her in her frailty. The wolf could sense the weakness, the lack of care she'd taken of herself. She wasn't healthy, practically skin and bones and therefore likely a one trick pony.

Waiting for Alexz to finish her somewhat glorified speech, she focused on what Ceon was saying to her in order to respond. 'Keep calm. We're both too weak to pose any threat as of now and it seems neither of our lives are in danger presently. We've been taken hostage for questioning. So take a blow to your pride and cooperate so we can get out of here alive. I don't know about you but this is one of the last places in the world I'd like to die.'

The idea that she could have been killed by Rogue was rather sobering and as much as she hated to admit it, she owed the elder for that. It also made her realize she needed to write a will in case something happened to her. Of course, there was really no one who knew who she was any longer but it would still be nice to have her last wishes granted. It might be something she'd run by Ceon later.

Finally Alexz addressed her about what she was actually in the room for and Eden's focus came back to the elder. It was evident she was severely uncomfortable with the notion of having her mind invaded. However, it was due to the invasion of privacy as opposed to being concerned about having told lies. She had no reason to lie, she was a woman of her word. "I already informed Rogue that I hadn't even heard about the attacks. I know the lycans have seemed restless and shifting about as of late but we haven't really located a central gathering point of theirs. Can you please just invade my mind to see I'm not lying and be done with it? I have things to do especially now that I'm aware of this."
PostPosted: Thu Jan 31, 2013 9:04 pm

"Thank you...it was no easy feat. I've been beaten down by Jaden, shot, and speared through the chest in my struggle for dominance. I've lost my family, my home, and anyone I've held close to me, but now I have it." Ceon's thoughts briefly flashed to Layna and his two children, three people that he rarely ever saw anymore, but he quickly pushed them from his mind as soon as they came in. He then focused on the situation at hand. "These vampires had balls. No vampire had ever dared to step foot on the steps of our homes, let alone drive us from them."

The freeing of the two sets of drugs from his system made him feel renewed, as if someone had thrown a bucket of cold water over him. "I wouldn't say there has ever really been a peace between any of us, though I suppose it couldn't hurt to create some sort of treaty for now..." Ceon's sentence was cut short when the new IV was introduced to his system. Beams of fire swiftly filled his polluted veins and Ceon's teeth instantly became fangs. His eyes, still blind, widened like a full moon. He could feel the silver nitrate dissipating from his body, returning his healing powers to normal. He held up his shackled hands, indicating that he wanted to have some sort of freedom. Ceon was skeptical, and he was sure that Rogue was skeptical too, though he was sure that for any progress, they would need to trust each other.

Rogue responded to Alexz through their mental connection. As much as I'd like a full report on ANY secrets the hunter leader holds within her mind, I just want to make sure she is being honest about what she knows. Sweep for the time around three weeks ago...make sure nothing is there...

Her mind flashed to Jaden. She remembered many not so...wonderful encounters with the former wolf leader.
"We've all lost..."
Each and every one of them, lycan, tainted, and vampire alike, had lost. She stood slowly.
"A treaty is struck between us. Full cooperation on a need to know basis between our races...it is imperative. I will call off our teams, if you call off yours. Of course there will be rogue factions to deal with and vengeance on both sides...but it is struck, here and now. We can refine details at a proper meeting in time... I would like to close the treaty with a blood oath."
Rogue unlocked one of the shackles on Ceon's hands, her fangs elongating. She bit into her wrist, a small amount of blood dripping down. She offered it to his mouth and expected him to do the same. It was the old way...blood to blood. It was to seal what was spoken.
