[Amy : Narnia : Forsaken Hall]

Even with the charms, it was hard to tell exactly what was happening on the other side of the alien-spider. She heard Nich yell for attention, and tried her best to see through its legs somewhat, catching a glimpse of Nich stabbing his sword into the ground.

She turned her attention back to this side. She was the only one over here, other than Kyle-turned-Ajora and Louis. There was a creepy hovering eyeball looking back for the benefit of Kyjora.

Amy moved from her position near the left wall, staying next to the wall, but moving closer to the throne. She quaffed an Ether, but did not unleash any magic. She didn't want them to be aware she was over here. Her invisibility wasn't perfected yet, so they could probably tell, if they were looking.

[ Kyla : Narnia : Forsaken Hall ]

As each of the projectiles struck the tree, she quickly lost count of all the many glyphs and branches that popped up--Matthew's needles brought up a thousand small, indistinguishable branches on its own. The tree was so thick with magic that she couldn't even see past it! Still, she continued channeling, splitting the growing burden with the blue mage and Jenny; the sorceress' spell was another story. It only had twenty projectiles, but the sudden weight of the tree stole her breath away as her chest constricted and her muscles tightened. She felt almost as drained as if she'd used her third-level Birn Strike.

When it all erupted, and the storm of missiles flooded the hall (3078, to be precise; she had added 5, which became 15), so much energy left her body that in the brief aftermath, she shivered, feeling simultaneously cold and empty, if only for a second. She was able to keep her breathing composed, as well. But as Dumael shifted and it molted the human shell, the artist groaned.

Of course it had a nastier form.

The attack was on, but she knew by now the defenses were not. So, with Joe's Faith giving her more power (though she'd soon need more energy), her hand flew across a new page, marking down the various symbols of her targets, those who led the front line: Dani, John, Joe(tomos), Anthony, and...

She briefly contemplated, her pen tip hovering over the final person's symbol. She was an ally, so she didn't to see her targets, just send the magic toward the target and, what, friendship magic?

Committing the last symbol to Amy, she finally pressed the tip down, casting her Warding Lotus on the five of them. The protective auras bloomed around each of her targets, enveloping them--though, luckily for Amy, because of her Invisibility, the sudden buff wouldn't illuminate her or give her position away.

Next, she turned her gaze to Dumael. If the legs were as dangerous as Mathy and Sayrike suspected, they needed to be as busy as possible to prevent them from attacking. So she decided to trip the beast up a bit: using her Practical Pictomancy, she created... a wall. It swiftly rose up, like the boss barriers they'd all seen in the games, from underneath the spider--specifically, in between its front legs and its hind legs, and curving around the spider's torso. It's final height was a few feet above the now-sealed torso, and it was roughly two feet thick.

With any luck, the wall would lock the spider in place!... at least momentarily. The only way it'd be able to move was by breaking the wall--the hole around its torso was air-tight. She didn't doubt the spider was capable of breaking the wall, but it would at least take a few moments of precious time; she'd made it quick, using what magic she had at her disposal (though she was boosted by Faith), but if it wasn't broken instantly, she'd spend her next few moments reinforcing it.

Still, she knew Dani was on the other side--maybe even Amy--so she left a small hole, just tall enough for a person to walk through, directly underneath Dumael around the same place that Dani had slid through.

The sooner they could get rid of this, the sooner Joe would be back on his feet, unless there was some other way.

"Joe?" she said, moving to stand in front of him, next to Bobbi behind her Ice Wall used to block his view of the spider--hopefully that would help him pull it together for a second, like turning away from a needle before a shot. She called back to him, trying to sound calm for his sake. "You gonna be okay?"

[[Louis, Dumael : Narnia : Forsaken Hall]]

[[BGM: Am I by Onoken feat. Emi Evans]]

~Can you feel it, the beat possesses me...

Louis sat upon the throne, motionless, silently watching everything take place before him. Their efforts were valiant, quick witted, clever, but rushed. Shots fired aimlessly towards the beast simply ricocheted off the torso, doing nothing, a hexagonic shield springing up between each impact, sparks flying down the legs to the floor and back up again.

Dumael's leg, the front-left one in particular buckled upon the impact of Joe's meteor and John's maul. The crystalline, spike-like leg shattered like glass, though one certainly wouldn't consider a substance that strong to be glass. The pieces as threw clattered across the glowing floor turned pitch black then dissipated like vapor. Still, given the destruction of a limb, the Keeper of Dreams wasn't halting its action in the slightest.

...Can you feel it, I burn so vibrantly~

Scans returned and the results were interesting, like before, its stats were rising slowly, but, upon the destruction of a leg, one of the status effects, sleep, that it seemed to be inflicted with was cured, vanishing from the list. The elemental resistances were even across the board, with the exception of fire and light, both appeared to be effective. Past all of this, the two scanning party members could see a gauge of sorts labeled limit break steadily rising and was apparently just passing 20%!

Anthony's tugging, no matter how strong the boy was, he could not pry the leg from the floor by himself, however, as Kyla's walls came between it and the crystalline surface it had pierced, the boy was able to pull the leg slightly, albeit not far do to the wall blocking it from moving any further forward.

~Can you hear it, my song is breaking free...

Still, despite missing 4 limbs on the ground, it sill have four remaining to keep it stable, so the spider would not be toppled. Dumael hissed, its mandibles clattering together viciously. From pours along its abdomen, sprawled out a spread of webs clinging to every surface, sticking to them, then pulling taught locking the creature in place further, but more than that, making the area beneath and immediately around it a minefield of pencil thin adhesive running into the creature like hairs or bristles.

At last, Kyla's walls shattered, the legs colliding with the floor, shattering the crystal surface, throwing bits and pieces this way and that, except for the leg held by Anthony, who with the release of the pressure was able to jerk the limb out towards him, laying it flat out before him rather than embedded in the crystal floor.

...I pour my love into the void~

Nick, as he charged his sword and bathed it in the life force of his allies, could feel his vision blur for but a second, flickers of a snow covered bridge and Louis kneeling upon it glazed over, clouded eyes watching him. Lips blue. Icy wind wiping past him, ignoring the pale, lifeless skin, the bruised, blooming purple spread around his neck. A blink, the image was gone, but his last words whispered from the shadows.

"Why do you persist?" Louis spoke again, this time sounding exasperated, "Am I to believe you are him? What you say is laughable. If you were, you'd know what happened then was unavoidable, the trap laid was triggered when I sprung my own. My plans ruined and that goddess freed to undoubtedly seek her vengeance upon me for doing all in my power to prevent that whimsical wench from regaining her divinity... what choice was there but to-"

A deep breath. A sigh. "Enough of this. Dumael, wipe these pawns from the board. If the gods wish to kill us they will need to face me themselves."

~Into the Void~

Limit Break 20%

[ Matthew ; Jenny ; Sayrike ; Anthony ; John ; Dani ; Dawn ; Melisandre : Narnia : Forsaken Hall ]

"Fire and Light, neutral to everything else, absorbs Ice," Sayrike called out the moment her results started coming in. And as she saw the lower-half of one leg shatter, removing a status, her suspicions were confirmed. Still, she remained in the back, waiting to support however necessary. "Each remaining leg-blade has a status effect, out of Slow, Bind, Poison, De-Protect, De-Shell, Disable, and Silence, but I can't tell which is which yet--and it looks like it's got a Limit guage, already passing 20%!"

Matthew cursed under his breath again as he watched the attacks against the torso bounce off a barrier--he must have missed it somehow with all the other magic in the area. Still, he could feel Clarity's drain on his magic, and senses, getting heavy, so he cut it.

"Out of Clarity," he said, mentally thanking Sayrike for keeping him included in her other senses. "But looks like we need to target the legs first anyway..."

Reaching into the ætherspaces that were his pockets, he pulled out an Antidote and a Holy Water, fusing them together to cast Samson's Might on John, further increasing his Strength. He followed that up by pulling forth a Bomb Fragment and a Dragon Fang, crushing them together in his hands and moving closer to the front of the battle. As they combined, he pushed the synthesizing energies into his chest, inhaled sharply--

--and exhaled a mighty conflagration, Hellfire flooding from his mask as he turned his head left and right, hoping to hit as many of the front legs as he could. With any luck, perhaps even burn away the hair-like web snares embedded in the breaking floor.

With the success of his assault, John looked over to see Anthony having one leg already primed and ready for another assault. Feeling the increased strength from Mathy coursing through his muscles, he roared through the flames, leaping into the air at the over-extended limb to land a Fatal Impact blow like a rightful god of thunder would. He swiftly followed up what would have been a skull-crushing blow by using Sonic Maul again, this time rushing toward the adjacent limb.

Hearing that lightning would be fine, and seeing John turning to move on his ensnared leg, Anthony pooled some additional energy into a magic charge and sent it along the chains. It wasn't much, but still more than he could normally do at a moment's notice.

Grumbling about the barrier as her attacks bounced off, she looked at the rear legs, flourishing her chakrams in thought. They needed to break the legs first, worry about statuses later.

She flourished the chakrams one final time, thick streams of water suddenly encasing the blades with her Water Armory ability; however, a moment and some concentration later, the enveloping water grew more turbulent, more Pressurized--increasing potency of the spell.

Finally, she rushed the back-left leg (the spider's right, the party's left) and unleashed a deft Assassin's Strike, hoping to destroy the limb in one blow.

Dawn continued her War Dance, and Jenny continued her Haste Song, but the Time Mage momentarily dug into her mana reserves, staring at two of the middle legs--and Stellar Flash runes appeared, erupting with non-elemental energy.

Taking a page from Matthew's book, Melisandre slammed her staff into the ground, channeling her charged magic through the fractured crystal. A drop of what appeared to be lava blurred forward underneath the crystal, leaving a thin trail of heat behind it as it rushed underneath the spider.

As it reached the center point, the crystal floor began to tremor and quake, fractures spreading and screeching as the very ground began to glow and burn with geothermal heat. With every passing second, the heat grew more intense, spreading outward faster and faster, burning any hostile that so much as touched its tumultuous surface--though only feeling like a warm updraft to her allies.

Though the center was clearly the hottest point, the entire width of the hall under Dumael began to grow a deep red, then orange, then finally yellow-white. Lava-like magic burst through the cracks in the ground, whether the quakes had created them or simply exacerbated them.

The sorceress seemed locked in place, her focus completely absorbed by the spell as she continued to channel it.

[[ All-Bravery - Strength and Defense x1.5
All-Haste - Speed, Skill, and ApP x1.5
Samson's Might - Strength +1
Hellfire - Magic 9, wide-spread.
Water Armory [Pressurized] - +4 Strength for 3 turns.
Assassin's Strike - 22.5 (St) + 12 (Ma) = ~35
Lava Font - +Faith... eh, 'high-ish'. Nowhere near the fire-bullet-hell. ]]

[ Kyjora : Narnia : Forsaken Hall ]

"You think Calypso's coming after you?" he said, almost slipping on the frozen ground in surprise. He had recomposed just as quickly, scoffing (whether at his surprise or Louis' remark remained unclear). "The capricious sea-witch is back at the castle now, and she's not even the one who sent this lot--it was Aslan, because you're messing with his turf, which I'll point out is just a teensy bit not a sea."

He twisted his neck somewhat as he reached the final stretch, and a flutter of aura briefly surrounded him. Once again, he made no attempt to hide the ability or show it off.

"What more proof do you need that my existence continues? Shall we talk of our fusion in Hawaii?" he asked, tilting his head. "What of your battle with that traitorous Ultima inside Dawn? Or the storm I warned you of as we stood in view of the convergence?"

It was sudden, but not hostile; instant, but not offensive. It had been little more than a flicker, little longer than a blink, but suddenly the man in a suit of cloth immediately appeared directly in front of the man in a suit of metal, as if time had jumped forward. They were out of each others' arm's reach, but close enough that they could whisper without being heard by anyone outside of 10 feet.

"You talk a big talk, but we were one once. I know your intelligence--and you know how this ends with them," he said, his voice low, his eyes flickering from violet to red to brown and all throughout. The sneer of condescension was completely gone, replaced by frustrated confusion. "Are you really so desperate to die?"

  • Dragon Force cast; 3 turns of 1.5x Strength and Magic.
  • Causal Distortion - Charged for 6 actions; current Magic charge holding at 54 due to Twisting Time passive + Dragon Force.
  • Blink 2 more turns of 1.5x Reflexes.

[Amy : Narnia : Forsaken Hall]

Amy paused as Kyla's buff arrived. She wasn't sure if it would be seen, or if the magic could be traced to her. She stood frozen for a moment as Kyjora continued on, talking about Calypso and Hawaii.

She looked back to the alien spider, analyzing it with Scan. She judged the group could handle it, although she couldn't see exactly what they were doing.

What to do? She was going to cast a Dia Drain on Louis, but he hadn't attacked Kyjora yet, which was something. He was having that heartfelt speech she had been anticipating, but Bobbi and Kyla were not participating. 'They she be over here,' she thought. 'They have the shards of Louis, or whatever.' To be true, she was vague on the details of that. Still...

"Kyla, Bobbi," Amy said over the charms to everyone behind her, "can you get over here? Ajora's possessed Kyle, and he's having that heartfelt talk, but you have the shards of Louis as well. I think you should be here."

When she looked back to Kyjora, he was gone. It took her a second to realize he was right next to Louis now. How'd he get there so fast? Weird. She couldn't hear a word he was saying, either.

{James : Narnia : Forsaken Hall}

{{Cue:Flame}}

James nodded his head in Sayrike’s direction in thanks for the needed cure as his injuries started to mend. Getting back behind apparently hadn’t been all that necessary but it was definitely beneficial as it made him a target for Joe’s second round of Faith, boosting his magical power substantially. Sayrike’s reports regarding the statuses were interesting to say the least, and the elemental weaknesses were pretty much exactly as the corsair had expected and he knew exactly what he was going to do. He held his hexagun down to the ground focusing as much as he could into three of it’s barrels

’This one is going to pack one hell of a punch.’

The bonus of haste also meant that the corsair could channel more energy quicker than he would normally be able to and it showed as the blast that was building within the barrels of the hexagun began to emanate from it. A fierce, fiery aura lapped at the frame of the gun and James’ hand. The corsair looked up a hint of a smirk on his face as he finished charging what was to be one powerful attack. Without hesitation the corsair rounded the corner of the Mirror Wall and pulled the trigger. The Napalm Grenado that erupted from the hexagun landed on the floor underneath the spider to combine with the massive fiery assault that Mathy and Melisandre’s volcano. The combination of Faith and his own charging resulted in a large increase in the Grenado’s range and power, enveloping all of the legs in a hellish inferno.

”Feel the heat!?” The corsair bellowed, because he certainly could. He was clearly still running on emotion more than he normally would but at least now it was focused.

Napalm Grenado: MS= 12 charged for 2 actions +4 = 16 X1.5(Faith) = 24

[Joe: Narnia: Forsaken Hall]

The wall, the comfort(and a little bit of the sucked out life force) all seemed to jolt Joe out of his frozen state. Except he wasn't moving all that much beyond the shaking that was rattling through his own body. The fear lingered, the shock to his mind lingering and making him still not want to move.

Still, he could do something, now. Not much, but he squeezed his eyes shut, and a weak wind flowed out of him, covering a fairly wide area, and rejuvenated himself and his allies. Well, those that were close enough, at least. And he kept it going.

[Small HP heal to all allies save Kyjora, Amy, Dani, as they're definitely way too far away to be affected by the piddly healing wind.]

{Bobbi .:. Narnia .:. Forsaken Hall}

"Nick, I’m going to kick your a** for that when we get out of here, just FYI!" Bobbi shouted, though there was really no anger in her voice. The more information that flooded in from her friends, oddly, the calmer Bobbi felt. Having any kind of intel on this thing coupled with taking out the one leg and making good progress on a second showed her that not only could they do this, but they would. Even though she was superfluous—it took a lot of concentration to dampen her innate ice element, so she didn't even bother shooting unless she could promise herself she wouldn't slip up—she could still think, and for some reason it was getting easier to push past the adrenaline, the worry, the fear, the anger… and she found herself reaching the calm, analyzing state she could only remember being in once. That night… no, morning, that Tricia had her seizure.

"I figured on the ice," she said in response to Sayrike. "Can someone give me an elemental endowment so I can do some actual freaking damage? Pro tip: I like fire!"

Since it's, you know, the only thing that freaking works, she thought to herself. What she wouldn't give to have Princess Zelda's Light Arrows right about now.

Bobbi didn't bother trying to issue orders this time, either. Really the only thing she would have suggested would be to go at this enormous arachnid one leg at a time, but the "nuke everything" strategy seemed to be working pretty well, too. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. She concentrated one more time on dampening her ice element, adding her Expert Focus and Read the Wind abilities to increase her arrows' accuracy and speed, plus her Frenzied Fire to get off as many shots as quickly as possible, and aimed at the one of the leg joints, hoping to hit a weak spot. Or, at least, what would be a weak spot if this spider followed any rules of basic anatomy.

She heard Amy then, asking for herself and Kyla, and as Bobbi glanced back at leader!Joe to make sure he was okay, she responded with a .:Kinda busy squishing bug-brain here. Any way you can delay them until we’re done with the extermination service?:.

Privately, and quietly so as not to startle him, Bobbi spoke to leader!Joe, asking a simple question: .:I know phobias suck balls, but will you be able to pull it together any time in the next, say, ten seconds? Kyla and I need to go gag Ajora and/or kick Louis in the nuts, and the rest of us kiiiinda need our leader dude.:.

[Joe: Narnia: Forsaken Hall]

The monk missed Amy's call for the two girls, too busy focused on fear and then his own contribution to helping out their side. But because of his own new task, he was able to actually hear Bobbi's request for a return of their 'leader'. And he clenched his fists, opening his eyes, looking in Bobbi's direction.

No.

It was clear to Bobbi and Kyla especially, but it was still heard by everyone with the charms.

I mean focus on the giant enemy in front of us. Their 'talk' means nothing to us right now compared to the giant spider that's building up a giant attack. We can deal with the two blowhards once the ******** is squished.

There was a small pang of faith in his own words, even if it was tinged with traces of his own fear at the enemy. But, with something to focus on, he was slowly getting into action. But it was clear he trusted his own words that he thought to them.

No action, so still doing the minor heal, just a talking post

[Nicholas <> Narnia <> Forsaken Hall]
It's a small world, after all...
"I look foward to it, Miss Archer! I always welcome challengers with open arms and...some other thing that I can't think of." The swordsman laughed loudly, then held a tight grip on the gigantic sword he had stolen from a hunk of armor. "But first things first...let's squish this nasty arachnid."
It's a small world, after all...
A gust of wind enveloped Nicholas, before immediately circling around his feet in tight clockwise spirals. He took a deep breath in and then another. Then oddly, he took another breath. He remained still for a moment, then frowned from behind his half mask. The very distinct taste of pennies had filled his mouth, and the swordsman turned his head and spit out a small amount of red.
It's a small world aaafter all...
"Welp, that's troublesome. But into the fray!" The Avatar of Chaos announced cheerfully, as he suddenly dashed forward from his position, sword trailing along side as he roared in bloodlust. As he got close to the large spider boss, he made a sudden pivot and spun right, bring his blade towards Dumael's front two right legs in a vicious slash.
It's a small, small wooooorld...
Let me kill this son of a b***h already...

Remember, his PS currently is 41 PS here comes the world of pain. Also this is relevant. For reasons.

[ Joe : Narnia : Forsaken Hall ]

"Jesus. 'If the gods wish to kill us?' Could this b*****d get any more pompous?" Joe thought out loud as he moved to another leg, readying an attack at a joint. It was difficult, what with maneuver between the fireballs and whatever the hell it was that Nick was doing.

This was bad, very bad. Whatever this thing was doing with that charge, it wasn't going to end well for them unless they de-limbed this thing now.

At the very least, Joe was back in the game and helping rally the troops. Good for him. The last thing they needed was to lose two of their ranged fighters to Shakespeare in the Park.

Jumping, then double jumping towards one of the remaining legs, Joe extended his sword arm and aimed a G-Impact at the leg's highest joint. It might not be much compared to Nick's swing, but hopefully the precision would make up for it.

[Kyla: Narnia: Forsaken Hall]

She knew her wall wouldn’t hold but she had hoped it would last longer than that. As shattered fragments disintegrated into dust and needle thin adhesive began to cover the battlefield she began to weight her option of what to do next. Taking down the giant spider was one thing, but what about Louis himself.

Still sitting on that throne,
-still motionless.

Watching them like everything she ever did, and will do is just part of some grand display in his forsaken courtyard. When he spoke he didn’t sound like someone on the edge of victory- or at least not a victory he’d enjoy. The ring sounded tired. Like he couldn’t even be bothered with any of this bullshit any more. Which god was he referring too?
Kyla wasn’t quick to want to lump that eldritch horror in the category of the divine, even if evil…
What concerned the artist was how much juice she’d have left o utilize once Dumael was gone- and heaven help her he WOULD BE- they WOULD survive this!
Sayrikes report wasn’t good- lots of status effects to worry about. If only they could ascertain which leg possessed each one. If they could figure out which leg was silence Kyla could try and take out that one.

Kyle or Ajora …erm…'That guy in the suit'- was still talking, revealing Calypso was the gods to which Louis spoke of, but then.. Suddenly he was up close and personal and Kyla remember what Kyle mentioned before back in the train hangar.

“Time? oh yeah…” Thematically she kept allotting Time to Jenny, but Kyle was veering into that territory. It wasn’t impossible to begin evolving into more tiers of elements- she should know. But now that Kyle was up close and personal in Louis’s face- oh boy that could be good. She still wasn’t entirely sure this was reality- not until she could hear and see her shards presence again.

Until that happens, Kyla couldn’t be 100% sure everything she perceived wasn’t augmented for the sole purpose of Louis’ desires. It could be a reason why he was still so confident of his own joyless victory.
“Joe?” she asked again- shifting a little toward shim when Amy called for her over the charms. What?
But…. Would that really work? Unlike Kyle, Neither Bobbi or Kyla would just Bamf into places like Nightcrawler. If something went wrong, at least- she hoped, Kyle could get out of there better than most people. She saw Joe move a little and with that small gesture He brought some healing to his team-
Bobbi being ice obviously needed some new alignment and then after some secondary exchange- Joe responded.
Kyla would have to agree, “ that spider has to go, then we can focus on getting through to Louis once the imminent danger is out of the way. If we really wan tto save Louis I don't want that 8-legged-freak interupting.” For now all they could do was focus on the legs for now. Looking across to Bobbi Kyla really felt tempted to use her inked Coalescence- but that would require a lot of mana- just as much as her Unitas spell. She decided to confirm with Joe-
:: I can give Bobbi what she needs, but that would deplete my mana maybe too much. Shall I focus on attacking the legs instead?:: The option would be providing more fire power to the overall attack on the spider- but at a heavy cost. And if things went crazy once that was accomplished, Kyla with less than half her mana left wasn’t a good thing even with ethers to compensate.

::Yes:: -was all she got.

Yes? Yes in was she right to or… yes to more emphasis on Bobbi or. Wait wait- no he meant the later. F**k she over thought things too much!
she couldn't blame him, he was staring down his worst fear, manifested right? At least he was talking to some extent.

:: Sorry Bobbi, I’d give you a new alignment if I could but it’s too high a cost- anyone else got an enFire in their arsenal?:: Meanwhile she summoned a flurry of birn strikes , aligning them with the Light element. Thanks to that new boost it would be much stronger than the others she could emulate- this time. A steady stream of angry birds fashioned from light soared over people’s heads, on a collision course with one of the legs. She chose one actually not facing her since their seeker missile like nature could prove useful to attacking a leg less obvious.

“If I could.. I’d want to rip the veil of this world off- see what I’m really looking at… is that nightmare even real or are we just attacking hot air…”She growled, frustrated at being unable to tell what was real any more.

The thing she wanted to really do, what she hoped she could do, was beyond her magical capabilities. She just didn't have that much power and it frustrated her.
Once the initial attack was done, she fished into her tunic dress for an Ether.

[[Louis, Dumael : Narnia : Forsaken Hall]]

[[BGM: Am I by Onoken feat. Emi Evans]]

~So I wait, hold my breath and see...

The remaining front leg would not and could not stand against the combined force of both John and Nick's strikes, both colliding with the crystalline surface and quite brilliantly shattering it into tiny little pieces. Dumael reeled back, hissing in revolt.

...that this spell, has lost its hold on me~

More strikes, more impacts, the rear leg took a severe amount of damage from Dani's deftly placed assault, but it did not break, fragile bit the may have remained. Joe's strike sung true, but he alone was not enough to shatter one of the inner most of the 8 legs, Jenny's blasts futhered the damage on two, the pyromaniac witch was melting away at the creatures limbs but it was still only melting, could only weaken and wear down over time... time they didn't have much of.

~And silent as a soul in flight...

Louis, took a deep breath, slowly and with some effort. He refused to budge as Kyle warped before his face and wispered so closely the others couldn't grasp thier words. He, however, heard them and could do not but sigh, "You think I fear death? Why would I," he laughed, giggled, then whispered... his voice drawing a cold line in contrast to the odd sincerity found in the boy's laughter, "When I'm already dead."

...I'll weave my dreams in threads of light~

Meanwhile, Dumael, screached at the fire burning beneath its feet, furious, it shot a string from its maw, attaching itself Dawn's foot before dragging the girl back to its waiting, hungry fangs that salivated with venom, eager for a new meal. It ignored the impacts of multiple blows, two more legs shattering under the weight, Dani's in the back, as well as another in the middle, the combined efforts of Kyla, Joe, Jenny, and James' assaults bearing fruit.

[Joe; Dawn: Narnia: Forsaken Hall]

Maybe the healing wind he was doing pushed something in him forward. Maybe it was just the fact that Dawn was suddenly grabbed and pulled towards the enemy. Maybe it was temporary insanity. No matter what it was, though, Joe was unclear as to why he moved when Dawn was attacked.

He sprung to his feet and vaulted over the ice wall(and of course avoiding any people in his path), bo suddenly in hand. With his high speed(boosted still by haste), he went after Dawn, grabbing at her and pulling to stop her from going further towards the spider. He began to swing his weapon in his 'free' hand, a spark of flame erupting from the tip of his staff before it fizzled out, Instead, he shouted "Dawn! Your boot!"

Dawn panicked as the web ensnared her foot, yanking her mid-dance so that, even as she struggled, she slid across the crystal floors. Before she could call blades of razor-wind to assault the web, she felt her arm gripped by Joe, shouting at her.

"I know, I--" she shouted, terror still clouding her judgment--until his words fully set in. With a nervous laugh, she mentally commanded her long boot to grow just loose enough that her foot slipped right out; instead of a dancer, all Dumael would get...

... was a boot to the head.

"Thank you!" she shouted, quickly getting back to her feet and resummoning her boot. She immediately re-started her War Dance, and in doing so spun and twirled and flourished her way as far into the back of the party as possible, bringing her beside Jenny once again.

Joe hopped backwards, facing the enemy while following Dawn. It was odd. Missing legs, it looked...less threatening, somehow. Still terrifying, but...

The monk flung his staff, lighting it on fire with his magic gained from Mathy, the flaming bo spinning while ablaze at one of the remaining legs.

Then, his hand went up, open palmed, fingers spread, and swung his hand down in front of himself. The wind that normally emanated from him beefed up, becoming a defensive barrier.

He swung his hand again, this time from his left to his right, and the winds somehow seemed to glow a little, before faintly sparkling as the wind gained a revitalizing quality(something his brain seemed to come up with on autopilot, thanks to his previous healing attempt on the group).

When those buffs were cast, he called his weapon back to his hand. He stopped hopping back once he reached the ice wall, but kept his back to it. He didn't hide behind it this time, as he flung the weapon, flaming again, at another of the legs.

[Joe has learned Tramontana(Blessed Wind)- Grants Regen to a target]
[TL;DR: Grabbed Dawn, threw flaming staff, self-aero barrier, self-regen, second flaming staff throw]
