Foam-Dome Little Miss Fortune But if they don't see anything wrong with being gay, they wouldn't feel the need to be all like "BUT I DIDN'T MEAN THAT IN A GAY WAY! OMG, PLEASE DON'T THINK I'M GAY! THAT WOULD BE TERRIBLE!" XP At this point, I think it's more of a social expectation. If you follow your sentence with "no homo," then you save yourself the 5-10 seconds of good-natured ribbing from your nearby friends.

Generally when people get upset or defensive from being called or considered something it's because there's a negative connotation attached to it. If you truly weren't homophobic, then someone calling you gay would be the equivalent of somebody saying you had blonde hair when you really have brown hair. You know they're wrong, but what difference does it make?

The point is Fortune doesn't get that what Foam said is just teasing between friends.
