But if they don't see anything wrong with being gay, they wouldn't feel the need to be all like "BUT I DIDN'T MEAN THAT IN A GAY WAY! OMG, PLEASE DON'T THINK I'M GAY! THAT WOULD BE TERRIBLE!" XPAt this point, I think it's more of a social expectation. If you follow your sentence with "no homo," then you save yourself the 5-10 seconds of good-natured ribbing from your nearby friends.
