I would add to this conversation, but it would be less fun if I did.

Slifer Ozura Yeah...anti-magical, I don't see the word HOLY in those words, I don't think you can even spell HOLY from anti-magical. You also said "It kills undead, because it breaks the control the necromancer has over the corpse of the being" I'd like to take a moment to point out Dead-men aren't controlled by Necromancers. I said it dispels the forces keeping the undead alive and around. I didn't say it destroys the hold the necromancers had on them. But, if they DID have necromancers on them, it'd dispel that energy. Dead corpses can't live. They have no life force, meaning something artificial has to be keeping them alive. The anti-magical rounds would dispel that force.

That's nice. They don't have anything keeping them "alive", they're an abomination to life. They're the opposite of life, its why they attacked your city, that's their big grudge against you. As much as your character seems something dead as terrible and unnatural, so do these people see your character as something unnatural and terrible. They're not kept "alive" by magical means.

What if the artificial thin keeping them alive was scientific? ninja
Also, I would argue that "wait, wouldn't your anti-magical bullets dispel what keeps a living person's soul connected to their body?" Then it hit me: Bullets. They disconnect souls from bodies ALL the time lol

They're a dead soul connected to a body.

Slifer Ozura That's nice. They don't have anything keeping them "alive", they're an abomination to life. That... is a horrible explanation. Shame on you. *hits him with a rolled up newpaper* Either more magic, or more SCIENCE, but none of this "neither" bullshit.

But the question is, HOW is the dead soul connected to the body?

The dead soul is connected to their body through a ritual process that is the whole basis of their society. They also use a banana, and a bent spoon. eek

You, sir, are a credit to your field. Have a cookie. The answer in regards to Slifer's "dead men" conundrum is clearly as follows: They're alive. Why? Because they're clearly not dead. They're not corpses. They're not animated by magic or made into meat puppets by science. The body sustains itself, therefore it is alive. By Slifer's own description of the race the only thing keeping them from being 'natural' life forms would be that the original soul in the body is replaced with another one. So instead of being "dead men" they're more like "body thieves". So stop calling them that. They're alive.

Slifer Ozura That's nice. They don't have anything keeping them "alive", they're an abomination to life. They're not kept "alive" by magical means. So, what's animating the dead rotting corpse, which has no life force, no brain activity allowing it to move, if not for some sort of magical energy force? You put a soul in a dead body it won't really stick, otherwise souls wouldn't leave a body once it dies, so unless you have some sort of "glue" holding it there, and something to allow the body to move, your "Dead Men" make absolutely no sense.
