"Yep," Waffle said, "Magic comes from the orb, travels through my arm, and then it reaches my hand when I can do whatever I please with it like casting fireballs or zapping people. I just need to be careful and not overload it with magic. Remember those nasty burns on me you saw a while ago? I got told that it's what happens."
She thought over what she just said. Something was out of place.
"Mn....lemme correct myself. Magic doesn't actively come from the orb, but it's radiated like how some kinds of rocks give off nuclear radiation. That orb's made of a crystal that naturally stores that magic energy, and when I 'charge' it, I'm really just tapping into the crystal's reserves. I don't know how those reserves get filled back up, but then again I never cared to find out how. Right now I'm just going by what I've been told and notes that I've read in my dad's study."

Meanwhile, Sabe was watching Aly and Nariana duke it out, and saw how the barbed whip sliced someone's hand open. "There's no reason to use dirty tricks here. This place is only meant for a light spar, not drawing each other's blood out." he called out to both of them.

KD rushed back into the room with a potion in her hand. When she caught her breath she started "Nar-" but trailed off not wanting to disrupt them if they weren't ready to stop fighting.

At the tug, Aly loss her ground. She fell forward only to roll back up onto her feet, which forced her to destroyed her whip. Aly pushed her self into a lung, glancing around she notice how close she was to the machine, Just a little closer and I'll be able to stop at least on part of this annoying battle.
She then turned her attention of a more important force as she created a blade with the gloved hand that was not against the floor.

Aly dropped out of her lung, laying flat and then rolling out of the way to miss Nari's attack. Getting to her feet in a fluid movement, she noted that she was standing near the PAPS. Perfect, She thought as she reached out to push the large red bottom on top. Hopefully this will do as Nari said it would. At least this takes care of the blasted paint balls...I'm going to have little black and blue spots all over me.
She pushed down as her eyes flickered over to where Nari was. She is probably waiting for me to attack or she's preparing to attack me herself.

Aly smiled at Nari's joking. "I don't mind at all. I think it would be wise to stop. Thank you for helping, I realize these gloves need to be reworked."
She looked down at her gloves and then started to take them off thinking, Maybe I should obtain pre-charged gems. Since charging them myself takes to much energy out of me.
Glancing up as she pulled the second glove off her noted Nari's cut, "I'm sorry about that...Do you want me to take care of it?" She asked as she cut a quick glance towards KD. "Or would you like KD to handle it? Since it appears that she has something already at hand."

"Well, their done." The conclusion of this battle was the only thing that brought Pen back from wondering about the fundamentals of magic. If she understood correctly; magi take from the power around them and use it as a weapon. Which now made the difference of Dark Energy and magic even more hazy.

"If thats all Waffle glad you explained it. I'm still not 100% sure about it but thanks."

Aly nodded as she dispelled the shield, "I got a touch obsessed...though, I couldn't have used my gloves as much if I went around."
She sighed before saying, "Well, I'm off since KD care of that."
As she walked out towards the door, she felt a sharp pang from her ankle. Great my ankle...probably strained it.
She head off towards her lab, ignoring the pain as much as she dared.

Skotti sat at the table drinking a beer, Devin on his chest in the baby carrier. He noticed that the noise from the training room had stopped "I hope training went well" he said to himself.
