Luca was grinning as Lori opened it. "It starts out kind of rough," he said. "But It gets better, and the main characters fall in love. They get engaged." He kissed Lori's cheek. "The bad news is, one of them can't cook."

"Rough?" Lori asked. He furrowed his brow and opened the book. Weird pages-- oh! This wasn't a book. Well it was, but it wasn't.

Photos. Him and Luca, from beginning to current times, even the selfie he had taken on the day of their engagement, Lori in his silly apron... And the empty pages. There was room for more. Even room for more pages. When you lived forever there had to be quite a few.
"I love you," he said when he was finished, leaning over to kiss Luca's temple.

Luca smiled. "I thought we'd need a lot of room," he said. He planned to stay with Lori forever. "I love you."
"Want to keep reading?" he asked. He offered Lori the book of fairytales.

Lori grinned. A lot of room indeed! He grinned broadly and more or less leaned over, wrapping his arms around Luca and half laying on him. He gave him a kiss.
"If you want to." Except Luca probably couldn't move.

Lori cheated! Luca tried to move but he couldn't. Instead he chuckled and cuddled against Lori. "You win," He said.

Lori kissed his chin.
"Do you want me to read?" He would if Luca wanted! His eyes felt better already. It might have just been a love placebo, but who cared?

"Hm. I thought we could read something together," Luca said, and smiled. "But it can wait. I think we can stay like this." He kissed Lori. "Are you feeling better? I still think you should rest."

Lori kissed Luca's ear and sat back up.
"I don't want to squish you," he admitted, then picked up the fairy tales again. "And I don't want to sleep. I want to spend time with my fiancee." He loved that word. He used it as much as he could, even if it meant not referring to Luca by name at first.

Luca sat up and kissed Lori's cheek. "Your fiancee worries about you," Luca said. He scooted close so He could see the book as well. "Another happy ending?" he asked.

Lori smiled broadly and began flipping through the pages.
"I know he does," he said, and then nodded. A happy ending? "Of course."
He found a story he was familiar with and began to read in his deep baritone. Rosie came in from outside and sat down on the couch, waiting to be invited up as if there was enough room for her between her daddies.

Luca didn't make room for Rosie, but he did reach and pet her. "She came to hear the story, too," he said softly and smiled.

Rosie politely waited a while, then laid down at the foot of the couch and curled into a doughnut. She didn't sleep, she just watched her daddies together. When it was finished, Lori reached down to pet her head after kissing Luca.

Luca returned the kiss, smiling happily at Lori when it broke. "I was going to invite you out to dinner, but I think I'd rather stay home." The public eye was so limited. Not that he particularly cared what people thought. He gave Lori another kiss.
"Want to cook with me?"
