"Hey, some compa-- Whoa!" Nari stopped to block Aly's incoming whip again. She skillfully twirled her staff in a circle and successfully deflected the whip*. "Heh, we're just breaking in Aly's new gloves with a little challenge," she told the others. "Now what are you going to do with that chain, Aly? Time to show us what you can do!" she smirked and cocked her head to the side, almost trying to taunt her. Her grip on her staff tightened, and she squatted in anticipation of Aly's next move. 'Come on now. I know she can do more,' she thought to herself.

Also, I take back that the thing needs reloading. Too much hassle. Just imaging it's unlimited or whatever...)

'Yes, here we go,' Nari thought apprehensively. She leaped from her position and back-flipped in the air, just missing the chain. When she landed, she noted the blade and sighed. 'Time to get serious. Hoo boy.'

(Cool. Man, I don't like my phone atm...stupid thing.)

Pen noticed the crowd that was slowly moving in, amazed how they seem to congerate sometimes. As Waffle sat down Pen went to staring rather blankly at the fight. No longer really intently watching as more of thinking. Still pondering the workings of magic and how it was useful. It wasn't until Waffle's question and then KD's response she diecide to sit back up and turn to Waffle.

"Hey Waffle, could you give me a better idea of magic? Me and bro were talking about it and I'm still shaky on the concept of how you guys are able to do that stuff."

Waffle thought about what Pen said for a bit before saying something back. There was a lot of things she knew about magic, but she was not even close to knowing everything about it. Truth to be told, there was never really a reason for her to study it, and this was a consequence.
"Hm...I guess. People view the way magic works differently, but I'll go ahead and tell you how the kind I use works."
She had to think of how to begin before rambling. Magic wasn't as easy as it looked to everyone else. Eventually she found a starting point.
"I'll start with how magic is cast. You know how electric wires work, right? Electricity moves from a source through those wires to be used for whatever purpose. For sorcerers and channelers, it's kind of like that. Our bodies act only like those wires at first but after we master it we also become the source. ...You getting this so far?"

Aly's stance alerted Nari that she was preparing to strike. 'Uh-oh. Here it comes," Nari thought and narrowed her eyes. By now she knew Aly would not try the same trick twice in a row. 'That would be below her logic at this point.' She concentrated on only Aly's gloves and got down low, waiting and hoping for the perfect moment to strike back. Aly's swung her chain lower than the first time. She jumped as high as she could and tucked her legs, in case Aly came within her own striking reach.

(Mid- air pause ftw~)

Nari gritted her teeth and held out her staff to protect herself against Aly's blade. The force caused her to land a bit harder than she wanted, but she managed to land in a squat. From there she kicked off as hard as she could and thrust out her right leg to flip and hit Aly in the process.

"Alright, so, to start, you don't make the electricity just move it, however when you get better you can do both?" Pen then thought of the orb and better understood the concept. She could remember a few times when Waffle was without her orb and how then she couldn't perform magic.

KD looked down at her hand a shot small white sparks from her finger tips. "I never thought about the electricity metaphor, but it does make sense." She then gasped at the sight of Nari's cut hand. Without thinking she jumped from her seat and rushed out of the room and up the stairs to grab a healing potion from her room.
