Aly smiled and then raised her gloved hand and with a quick jerk allowed a energy to whip. In her other hand, she shielded herself from the oncoming paint balls.
I can't keep the shield up and attack, so..., she let it drop and then created another whip, with her right arm she latched out with one whip towards Nari. She tried to keep from getting hit to much, though three hit her leg and shoulder.

As the whip lashed toward Nariana, a smirk spread across her face. Nari intercepted the whip with her staff and yanked to the side. "Such a bold first approach. This is going to be fun!" she said excitedly, her adrenaline beginning to kick in.

Aly face showed her concentration as one of her whips was caught. With her right arm glove caught, she opened her hand to create a shield. I can't keep the whip at that length for forever, she thought as Nari tugged it to the side. What a situation...oh well, lets see what happened when I shorten it.
With a small grimace, she started to shorten her whip. Meanwhile her other glove glowed slightly brighter.

Nariana began to think that Aly was retreating her whip when she felt the staff moving from the slight shift of weight. She twisted the staff in a small circle and disentangled the whip, wanting more from Aly's offense. 'Back to square one...What else will she try?'

With Nariana's movement, Aly lost her balance which caused her shield to drop. She felt and heard at least four paint balls hit her before she got her feet and her shield up. Well at least I'm a little closer, she thought grimly as she eyed the space between her and Nari.
Then her eyes shifted back to Nari, ready with her staff. As much as it soured Aly's mood to say it, she was standing up very well against her. Have I gotten soft!? If I was up against my sisters, I would be beaten by now and I hate to lose..., she thought quickly.
She dropped her shield, letting five paints hit her as she positioned herself right in front of Nari. Bring in back up, she un-clipped the jewel from her small chain belt and let it fall between her feet. The jewel glowed brightly acting as the based for her shield spell. Without the need to worry about her shield, she created her whip in her right and two maced chain with her left. She didn't strike though, since her head was slightly dizzy.
However she shook it, reminding herself as she lashed out with her whip, I shouldn't harm Nari, just get her out of my way. Plus I'm not interested in patch anyone up tonight..so yeah, avoid harm at...nearly any cost.

Pen sat and watched from the sidelines, hoping to better understand her team mates fighting ability, not speaking a word. They were pretty intent what they were doing and that was good to see. However since magic was never her thing, it was hard to be intrigued.
Well so far we have a lot of do-hickeys and fancy glowing. The whip is nice and I would like to see how Nari does with that staff.
She gave a quiet sigh and crossed her legs as she looked on. Reaching into her back pocket she got herself a fresh piece of wheat. Not popcorn but close enough.
The whole weapons popping out of nowhere is cool, but why this dependence on magic? Waffle is one thing but nothing can beat hand to hand combat practice.

After Luciano and Horatio finished their tea time, Horatio had to leave to go to a meeting at the family company. Horatio smiled and told Luciano he'd call him later, and then caught a cab back to the manor- despite the fact Luciano was going to drive him home. Luciano missed his family, today inspired him to see them a little more.
After that, Luciano walked to the kitchen and grabbed a soda then trotted off just to see where everyone was. And as he was walking, he heard loud crashes and loud 'BOOM!'s, so he walked to the training area to see what was going on. As it turns out it was only Aly and Nari duking it out in the middle of the room with Pen watching.
Luciano smiled and shook his head, then walked in and sat down next to Pen, and as he watched Nari and Aly he asked her, "So, who is winning?"

The shiny paintball machine, she turned her head to see Luc and then went back to watching the fight. She uncrossed her legs and leaned back on the bench, looking very unamused.
"Is it wrong not to like magic? Cause so far I can only think of me, Sabe and Boss of being strictly non magic users."
She let out a bigger sigh and reached to scratch her back. "They are good but I can't into a magic fight."

"I don't use Magic," Luciano commented, then sat so that he was only slouching a little bit. "But you're not alone. . I don't think there's anything wrong with it- Because when you can't use your magic, what good are you then? You know?" Luciano let out a sigh, and now he began to think out loud, ". . . Sometimes the only thing you can use are your hands- Not a lot of people here carry back up arms. You have to always prepare yourself for anything, because you never know when you're going to need it."

Pen nodded at Luc's statement. Certainly as long she has her hands she would still be a weapon with or without her bladed knuckles. Though Magic seems to be handy in a similar way since it wasn't something to carry extra and was always with the person. On the other hand she didn't see magic being very good if your opponent was close enough to stop any spell. To be fair it was more of mid-distance attack.
Well at least I'm not alone, she thought as she looked back at Luc. She then thought about what he said earlier.
"What do you call that Dark energy thing then? Certainly looks like magic."

Luciano shook his head, "It's only energy- Magic and energy are two different things, from what I've read. Sure, you need energy in order to do magic, but Dark Energy is way different from that." Luciano said, then he started to play with his pen.

"I still don't quite get it. I would have to better understand exactly how one "conjures" magic." Pen leaned forward this time resting her elbows on her knees.
"In the case of light that is pure energy. It doesn't need any type of medium to be present to create a force, unlike fire which needs fuel and wind that needs air."
Giving it another thought it now made better sense. Magic needs the user to be present while all Luc was doing is controlling the energy. It would exist without anyone trying to use it while magic was a different case. Well she hoped that was the right conclusion. Basic understanding of astronomy can only get you so far.
"Well sorry for not including you in that list then. Anyway unless its a light show like Waffle's stuff, I can't find this all entertaining."

KD finished her cigarette and wondered back inside... the house seemed empty... it wasn't until she heard some loud noises that she realized it wasn't empty. She wonder toward the sound and found Nari and Aly training. "Ooo, fun!" She wondered in and took a seat by Pen and Luciano.

Sabe was on the couch with Waffle, watching everyone else wander into the hallway. He got curious and eventually followed them into the training room. He saw everyone else, shook his head, and leaned against the wall next to the doorway. Waffle came in through the door soon after and sat down on the one available spot on the bench.
"Anybody wanna give me an idea of what's going on?" she asked.

KD kind of shrugged... "I guess they are playing? Some neat looking toys too." She giggled a little indicating she was teasing a bit.
