well, long story short. as short as i can make it, i guess. I am an optometrist and i work for an ophthalmologist
there's 2 optometrists there but the other doctor is very talkative and very slow and for the past 2 years, when he's running behind, they just shove all the patients for me to see

so i've been doing this with barely any recognition from the higher ups...and definitely no raise. Whenever I make any noise about how he's not pulling his weight (because i also need to do damage control with these patients who are waiting for him. or else, i fall behind on my own), i'm told that the patients' well-being is most important. I agree! but something should be done about HIM!

so the ophthalmologist i work for, he has 2 offices and the optometrist at the other office quits. He asks her whether she would have seen more patients if he had paid her more and she says yes! and he tells our office that her response indicates that she's lazy
i don't actually agree with that because I feel that we get paid to do a certain amount of work and since it's exactly that, we don't owe them to see more patients unless it's in our power to

so he gets this idea to pay us more to see more patients. And to get the other optometrist working. well, with the economy the way it is, patients are not showing up sometimes or they cancel, right?
i get my paycheck and it's been cut. by $600. So basically, they're paying us per head or something. I don't even know exactly how the pay got calculated. Plus, I don't think it's fair to punish us if they don't show up.
It's gotten the other guy working though. And they won't let me see his patients even if he's running behind now. WTF is up with that?!

>.> and he's your boss? if you see a lot more patients than he does, it will probably show in the paperwork. he'll get what's coming to him.
