After a walk through the forest, Mai felt kind of sick to her stomach. She made her way back to the dojo, and crawled over to the pond, leaning over it as if she was going to puke.

*Hunter had wondered out of his room and sat down on the edge of the roof, his favorite spot. Once he'd sat down he looked around and spotted Mai in the distance.*

Mai began coughing and winced, and she gripped the ground , and cried. She continued coughing and then coughed out a black substance from her mouth into the water that began sinking. Even after she seemed to be finished coughing whatever it was up, she remained in that position, frozen where she was.

Uh?
*Hunter squinted, still looking in Mai's direction. He was wondering why she looked so sick. He then made a clone of himself appear next to her. The clone walked in closer and bent down and looked at her.*
Are you okay?

She began coughing again, her eyes bugging out. More of the black substance came out of her mouth and fell into the water , but she didn't answer, look, or regard his existance right now. Even the fox was staying far away from her, staying hidden in the bush watching her.

~~Well that's not good...~~
*The clone straightened up back away a meter or two and sat down on the grass. He was looking at her attentively, trying to understand what was going on. Hunter "on his end" was doing the same.*

She coughed up more black substance one last time and then her body slid gently onto its side. Mai's eyes closed and the black substance was moving in the water. The fox was still afraid to go near her, and animals always new first when something wasn't right. Her hand had a strange marking going up her arm, symbols, or writing?

~~Are those...markings? Looks like a seal of some kind...~~
*Hunter's clone put his hand up a little over his head. Right above his palm a small bright orb appeared, it illuminated the immediate area allowing Hunter's clone to see better.*

She was motionless on the ground with her eyes closed, but whatever was in the water was still moving around. The fox moved over to her slowly, and rammed into her as if trying to wake her up, and then began scratching her arm. When she didn't wake up or move, the fox climbed over her and curled up against her body.

*Hunter figured it would be a good idea to contain whatever she just coughed up. Just in case. His clone froze the water of the immediate area of the pond creating a 30 by 30 by 30 feet cube of ice in the pond. Any bigger and the pond would overflow.*

*His clone got up and walked closer to her again, still using his right hand as a lamp. With his left hand he summoned his ijutsu to "scan" Mai. His hand was enveloped in green chakra.*

When he scanned over her body, there was nothing there but organs, organs that weren't working other than her brain. The fox was almost crying and looked up at the real Hunter on the roof as if begging for her. Whatever had come out of Mai had either killed her, but that wasn't right her brain would have stopped functioning as well if it had, but her body seemed completely dead. Meanwhile, whatever the black substance was, was frozen in the ice now, but had been moving rapidly before.

~~!? Are you kidding me? A clinically dead not brain dead person ozzing black stuff...This has got to be the weirdest thing I've seen in a while...~~
*The real Hunter vanished from the roof to reappear right where his clone had been, whom had puffed out of existence the same instance. Someone who would have blinked that very instant wouldn't have noticed a thing. He looked extremely puzzled. Looked at the pond and figured it'd probably be best to freeze the entire thing just in case he had to go away for any number of reasons. And so he did.*
~~It might be better if I brought you inside...Maybe there something in the med ward for this...Doubt it but ...It's worth a look~~
*Hunter lifted her with kaze and walked off to the med ward with Mai behind him. He figured if he could stabilize her brain there was a chance to save her and so he set off to do just that*

Mai's body was completely limp as she was taken towards the med ward. The fox growled and made all the noise it could as it scratched at the Ice, releasing small crying noises. It was trying to tell him something, and growled, before running and biting his leg to drag him back to the pond. A small fire grew around the fox as it tried to begin to unfreeze the pond.
