I'm refusing to touch the new DMC game... I flat out refuse.
As for Lara Croft, I never played the original and I doubt that I'll be picking up the reboot. Admittedly IGN(orant) did have an interesting video on their website where one of the Lara Croft multiplayer devs says "Multiplayer is the biggest thing in gaming since 3D" As I said to my boyfriend: Excuse me while I hit him over the head with a chess set.
On the other hand... Pokémon X and Y.... HERE NINTENDO TAKE MY MONEY!!!! ... Even though I'm not entirely confident in your new generation game being released barely a year after the final release of the previous generation....

They really need to put out more games with awesome campaigns, with a co-op feature. I like multiplayer, but when there's like 50 billion games with nothin' but multi, I really want a good campaign game with co-op and stuff.
Like the original games that could take you weeks, sometimes even months even if you played day in-and-out, and difficulty could change outcomes. I would also love to see one that could unlock stuff according to what you do in the campaign that could be used on the multi.
COME ON GAMING INDUSTRY! PUT SOME EFFORT INTO IT!!!
Also, I really wish my airsoft gearbox would work with me. Right now I just wanna bash it with a rock and then yell at some random civie and make 'em cry.
I still don't get why Cynthia feels betrayed, personally.

I used to - and still am - a huge fan of the Assassin's Creed series... The only thing is, I haven't bought a copy of the games since Brotherhood. This isn't because I haven't had the money to do so, it's because Ubisoft has essentially screwed everyone over.
I don't think it's just the gaming industry that's become lazy, but I think in many cases the gamers themselves. Once upon a time, devs actually had to TRY to get their games to win the Game of the Year award. Now days, make it half decent, build a decent fan-base, put some sparkles on it and you've got a chance.
But you're right Phantom about how long it's taking you to get through games. I bought Kingdoms of Amalur back in September when my boyfriend got his new PS3 (His original release fat one died dramatically) and didn't get a chance to play it properly until I went on christmas break from work. I've been on holiday since the 21st of December. I go back on Monday the 14th of January and guess what? After about 120 hours of game play and 190 quests later I've finished it's main story line. All I've got to do now is go through and be a kleptomaniac b***h on every chest, lorestone, hidden item and puddle I haven't gotten yet. I'm disappointed though because I thought that it would be so much MORE than it turned out to be.

I'm so behind. Save for keeping up with Resident Evil, I stuck to basics. Tekken, King of Fighters, Bloody Roar. Or whatever racing game I could get my hands on. I occasionally blow dust off my game boy and get into the old generations of Pokemon. Had my dad not sold my Super Nintendo, I'd still be playing Super Mario Bros, or Mario All Stars. I even miss the days of playing Donkey Kong and all the OOLLLDDD SNES games. But now a days, it's mostly Resident Evil. Leon is my wife after all. ;o

If you're looking at getting back into the Pokémon series then I would recommend getting a 3DS and a copy of Black and White. The reason I say this is because 3DSs are backwards compatible with DS games and the B/W games are a good entrance into the series for someone who's either been away from the series for awhile or wants to pick it up and hasn't played the other games.

See, I generally went for the behind the scene games. Especially since I was so poor when I was a kid I had to wait until PS2 was out before I got an N64 for Christmas that was bought from a garage sale. N64 instantly became my favorite system ever(had friends that owned everythin' else so I got a taste of everythin')
My first game ever was Legend of Zelda and some water-racer game. By then, of course, EB-Games was trying to rid themselves of everythin' N64, and so I bought tons and tons of little games that were on the shelves for like 1 buck or 50 cents each. One of 'em was Donkey Kong and Majora's Mask. Both Legend of Zeldas are my favorite games of all time. The only thing I've ever played that came close was FF8, and it was still far off.
Then when I finally bought PS2 I realized just how much everythin' changed from the two gens. I was beating PS2 games within mere hours of when I bought them, and though many of them had plenty of stuff to keep me entertained, I'd still usually wind up selling 'em back to EB-Games for a joke. Can't believe how stupid I was.
Now, with my 360 I rarely ever find games that entertain me very long at all. The best games I have so far? Bioshock 1-2, Borderlands 1-2, Gears of War 1-2-3, Batman Arkham Asylum, Singularity, Rage and TimeShift.
Now all I need to do is become a super huge business owner and start up major side companies for games and airsoft, and I'll exploit what gamers and airsofters want and become a world power. MOOHAHA~

I can't be arsed. Pokemon and Kingdom Hearts I am coming to loathe because I'd have to buy 034832048049824 filler games or extended games, and 304983049834908 systems to play those games until paying 3094820948209480 dollars for the next major installment and 309483094830948908 more dollars for the system because they're cruel like that.
Plus Star Craft still seizes my soul.
I'm also still holding my Triforce Jacket for ransom. People were willing to pay big bucks for it back at Job Corps.

I'm pretty sure I've had more fun with a PS2 than I ever had with the 360. Same with an N64 or a Gamecube.

Australia or New Zealand Phantom?
Unfortunately in NZ we basically didn't get ANY of the filler games for Kingdom Hearts and if you wanted them, then you'd need to order them from overseas. My Kingdom Hearts collection only contains KH, KH2 and BBS. I'm HOPING that KH 1.5 is released outside of Japan because then I'll be able to get the games between KH and KH2 along with KH one all on one disk.
I started gaming with a Pokémon emulator on my home PC since my parents wouldn't let me get a Gameboy. I didn't get a PS until I was given my cousin's old one with a copy of Spyro the Dragon. Unfortunately my parents had this "No video games outside the school holidays" rule, which resulted in me ONLY being allowed to game during the school holidays and they wouldn't buy me games resulting in all of the games I played as a kid being either loans from friends or gifts from my cousin and his parents for my birthday and christmas. It wasn't until I got a job that I finally was able to buy a copy of Kingdom Hearts for the hand-me-down PS2 I was given by my cousin. My mother was NOT happy with me for my purchase.
Luckily for me I live now with my boyfriend who's a video game reviewer meaning I now get ALL THE GAMES. I definitely wouldn't be able to do a top three at the moment, but the best games I've played recently would probably be AC2, Little Big Planet, Pokémon White, Black 2, Batman Arkham City and Mini Ninjas.
Unfortunately in New Zealand games don't come cheap... Like, a brand new copy of Batman Arkham City is $47.00 I've also recently seen new copies of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time retailing for $68.00 ... and that came out in 2008

Are you askin' where I live? U.S. Also, Arkham City is about the same price here and there, then. Never heard of the Pokemon game, but I never got into Pokemon at all.
Must be rather nice to be a game reviewer. I always figured it must be pretty epic workin' for people like GMR or GameInformer.

Gah. This was the fourth time I put my V2 gearbox together, and I still think I'm gettin' the Angle of Engagement is wrong, and thus the first tooth on the selector(sector) gear is catching further down the piston, and thus soon enough it runs outta room in the gearbox to pull back, and it'll be stuck at the end of the piston, but with more sector gear teeth waiting to connect.

Ahh, just that I don't normally hear people saying EB Games outside of Australians and New Zealanders even though our EB Games stores are owned by I think it's GameStop. It's actually one of the more popular spin-offs of the Pokémon series. Unfortunately down here working as a game reviewer here in NZ means that in some cases you're lucky if you get paid in more than the video game you're asked to review. Also, it's kinda unpredictable wether you'll get work or not. My boyfriend reviews for Gameplanet and hasn't had anything from them in about 6 months to write up.
