[Kyla: Narnia: Outside Cathedral]

Joe was right. Kyla read the books, watched the movies, both the originals and the remakes- The only solo ruler of Narnia was Aslan, and he crowned the sons of Adam, and daughters of Eve. There wasn’t supposed to be an odd one out was there? Not unless they were descendant by some affiliation, that’s how the story continued. But this was too soon.

-the murder.. was a bit too orchestrated. Elle..h-..he hates being separated from those he knows. He knew I didn’t like it. It’s strange…if I admit it, in a small but fundamental way, he was out-of-character….”
Joe’s direction then made the artist look up towards the servant calling for them.
Apparently the servant was looking for a Joe and Bobbi- poor thing mistook the search would be for two men. The weapons had bene ceased- oh yah, that’s never good. And they wanted the leader and the archer specifically? Kyla quirked her brow. That was pretty specific given the chaos at hand- what did the Norn want with them?
She stood beside Bobbi as Joe gave other Joe and the bubbly archer the option the come, then watched them walk off. Of course Bobbi would go, and asked the mage slayer to stay behind let the others know. Kyla stood there looking back and forth, guess no orders for her- she could do what she pleased?
If she wanted to break away, now was her chance. Nobody would notice. May be she could exmaine the rest fo the castle for anything that was missed? She had a book and something to sketch with again.
If only... but something nagged her. Might as well-
As there backs got further and further away she gave a sigh and turned to Joe, mumbling “… ‘think I’ll keep an eye on them just in case. I’m not much help until I get my magic. So at the very least I can be a run between if something goes wrong. Maybe I can pick something up in the weapons room- want anything if I can?”

[[Servant : Narnia : Grand Hall > Northwest Wing - Service Wing]]

The young man bowed deeply to the three guests, turning on his heel and walking off, occasionally looking back to check and make sure he hadn't lost them, though it wasn't hard as any of the other guests parted quickly to allow them passage. Along their path they passed the throne, the statue behind it, and consequently, the golden plaque displayed beneath.

How pointless it seemed now, this riddle of the king. Still, the gold would be hard to ignore, the glittering substance shining in defiance of the gloomy atmosphere. On it, read 3 incredibly simple words:

"Who am I?"

Hmm...

Without missing a beat the youngster led them through the door on the opposite end of the grand hall, down the zig-zagged staircase to the lower level where they'd eventually come across the cell block and the door where Nick and Melisandre waited for them. With a bow, the boy left the two groups to reunite, quickly dashing away to join the other servants that had huddled in the servant quarters far to the back of the wing.

[ Kyle : Narnia : Northeast Wing ~ Cathedral ]

"Look, if you think its best for your sister-daughter-niece-relative to be in a room of dead bodies with only, like, 5 other people, that's your prerogative," Kyle replied to Dawn, carelessly waving his hand in her direction as if to dismiss her. "I just figured, you know, emotional health and more people in the grand hall means more meat shields, at least. But hey, I guess you want to introduce her to soul-crushing sorrow early, good on ya."
Your callousness will earn you no favors...
Josh gave Kyle an odd look, raising an eyebrow and twisting his mouth in confusion.

The hostess then responded to the question about the secret passages--and Kyle had a short outburst of laughter, a playful glint in his eyes.

"Ha! No secret passages. Guess the culprit's still in here," Kyle said, stifling his laughter to a self-restrained giggle. "All the more reason to keep everyone safe. Speaking of--Josh, that's Mathy," Kyle added, pointing his brother to the man in the stoic Shy Guy mask who sat wordlessly on the ground, having hardly reacted to anything since finding his mother. "Mathy, this is Josh."

Josh turned to look at their mutual long-distance friend, his chest heaving with sudden empathy. Matthew never even turned to face him.

"Mathy," Kyle said, and the facade seemed to drop--there was, finally, some genuine sympathy. "We need you here. Joe needs you."

At first, silence. Then, he began to stand up.

"Right." His voice was distant, a monotone.

"Josh, take Mathy and help him find Joe. They were out in the hall a few minutes ago," Kyle said, nodding toward his brother.

"You gonna be okay in here?" Josh said, giving the dragoon another analyzing stare.

"I'll be fine. Whoever this is isn't after those of us from Disney. You need to stay with as many of them as you can," Kyle said, nodding. "Incidentally, Jenny, Sayrike--they'll need you, as well. We need to keep what loved ones we have left alive and together. Go get some air and round them up."
And then there were...
The two mages looked toward Kyle with mixed, unreadable expressions. He shared their gaze, nodding as if to assure them. Finally, with some hesitance, they stood up, following Josh and Matthew out of the Cathedral, though Sayrike gave one peculiar last, masked look at Kyle from the doorway before exiting.

[ Anthony ; John : Narnia : Residence Wing ]

[ After some exploration... ]

Anthony had made sure to pocket the key after using it, but in his inner coat pocket as opposed to his pants pocket.

The path throughout the wing was... haunting in its emptiness. The signs of life were all apparent, but with every empty room, the suspense built. Anthony began tightening and relaxing his fists; John began rolling his shoulders, one then the other, then both, and again.

It was, finally, the king's chamber that they were met with relief. Horrible, but at this point expected, relief.

John roared. Anthony growled, flexing his fists over and over as if to summon his gauntlets to him, even against the Negator (again). It was all they had not to start breaking the surrounding furniture--if only because it wasn't theirs to break.

"HOW?!" John shouted, turning to glare at the guards. There were no tears. Only rage. "How are you letting this happen?! What good are you?!"

{James : Narnia : Residence Wing}

The corsair was yet again unsure what to expect as they entered into the Residency Wing. He was somewhat relieved to find that it was just two long hallways with small rooms off of them. Their search would be a relatively simple one. The signs of life from the snacks on the table to the few scattered books would have been encouraging... if not for the fact that there didn't appear to be anyone roaming the halls or resting in the rooms. Each empty room made Kyle's theory and the corsair's dread set deeper and deeper into his mind until finally they came upon the last closed door and the at that point seemingly inevitable reveal.

{{Cue: Kyrie}}

There they all laid at the foot of a bed... The rest of their loved ones, the ones they had hoped to see had met the same fate as the ones in the cathedral. Among them James easily spotted his mother, Sharon, brother Alex, and his fiance Susan. The corsair's fist clenched as he approached the bed, diverting his eyes from victims at the foot of the bed and focusing on the young boy upon the bed. He felt no sadness though... only the rage that he had quenched before as it attempted to engulf his emotions in it's inferno once again. It was hard not to give into it, to yell just as he did when he saw his father or to smash something in violent anger. Especially with the way his companions reacted. The corsair was pissed to be sure, but now wasn't the time to succumb to those emotions. He let out a low growl of frustration as he closed his eyes yet again taking a few calming breaths before refocusing.

"Clearly they are here for show and maybe to prevent a drunken brawl... nothing more," James stated, not caring how snide or condescending it sounded. He was beyond caring for any of the clearly incompetent staff of the castle. "They were never prepared for this, clearly no one was."

He focused on the king, the clearly, far too young boy to rule anything solo. Just another part of this puzzle that didn't make any sense. The shine of the key above the boy's head caught his attention though as did the scroll that it was attached to. Perhaps it was a clue, a threat... at this point the young man didn't care as long as it provided some answers. Without another thought the corsair undid the knot that held the key and scroll. He tucked the key away in an inside pocket of his coat and unrolled the scroll to read it.

[[ Joe : Narnia : Grand Hall > Northwest Wing - Service Wing ]]

"Alright, I guess we're doing this then." Joe said as he turned to Kyla. "Nah, I'll head down as well. I know my weapons. Plus, strength in numbers and all."

Going off like this didn't sit right with him, but if this was some kind of ambush at least the others could help coordinate something. Kid didn't answer his questions either.

As he left the hall, he couldn't help but notice the damn riddle on the plaque.

"Who am I?"

'Good question.' he thought 'Very good question.'

The King's identity was the biggest mystery in all of this. Who he was, where he came from, how he came into all of this opulence and power, and why everyone seemed to trust him were all questions that needed answering. And yet every time a chance came up to ask, it seemed to slip away.

As the group made it to the cell block, Joe saw that the two 'large guests' waiting for them were Nick and Melisandre, two of the people from the group, albeit two of the people he knew the least.

'OK, so the people in the castle aren't trying to murder us. Not yet anyway.'

Still,He hadn't seen Nick much at all since this mess started and Melisandre had left shortly after they had found what was in the Cathedral. Maybe they had a lead.

"Oh, so it was you two. Have you found something down here? Because we could really use a lead right now."

[ Melisandre : Narnia : Northwest ~ Service Hall ]

It had taken some time, but she couldn't be too upset; while waiting, the dull throb in her heel finally stopped, and she was able to spread her weight evenly. Further, she was able to take stock of the available weapons in the cell.

"Lead? No, only a means of survival should it come to blows," she said, stepping aside so they could enter the cell, the two sword still strapped to her back. "Their weapons cache. It was locked, but I assumed that a crisis overruled any need for frivolous talks of 'permission'."

As they started looking through, she kept her eyes on the hall; she didn't want any more surprises.

"What's the situation like? You asked for leads, so I assume there are none," she asked. "What's the king got to say for all this?"

[Joe: Narnia: Service Wing]

Joe noticed the gold as he was walking, but didn't pay much attention to it otherwise noting that it was there. He was more focused on where he was walking. And his other thoughts, too.

Still, once the four of them made it there, the other Joe started talking. So the leader started sifting through weapons, looking at the stock. Eventually he found himself a hefty mace, flanged for more damage. Or brutality, depending on how you looked at it.

He gave it a few test swings(while making sure no one was close enough to get smacked by it). The heft felt nice in his hands, and with Melisandre asking a question, he couldn't help but open up his mouth.

"Situation? Oh just loved ones with hearts stolen in the cathedral. You know, bodies still around. Which doesn't happen with normal heartless so likely a trap or something. As for the king? Who knows. Hasn't shown his face, so likely either dead, kidnapped, or doesn't even exist for all we know. It's not like we know anything about him." There was a small bitterness in Joe's voice. Mainly because he didn't even want to come in the first place and now all of this was happening. Though at least this was better than a party, in a way. He knew how to fight better than socialize.

He then started thinking about the people that weren't there. Kyle might need a weapon, for instance. Though Joe didn't see anything exactly like Kyle's weapon, the leader did pick up a glaive with a simple(but effective) design to it. "He...could probably use this. Maybe...everyone else finding everything okay?"

Joe : Narnia : Service Wing

"Nice, this'll help."
Joe said as he began exploring through the cache "Looks like there's enough here for all of us."

He was thankful that his hobby back on Earth let him go through the weapons with little trouble. They were organized well enough to where he could move from place to place in the cell quickly.

"Situation's about as piss poor as you'd expect."
he responded as he strapped a sword belt around his waist and sheathed a rondel on his right side. "No one has any idea what's going on, the hostess is desperately trying to make excuses, and half the group is still in shock."

He took an arming sword, tested it's weight, and sheathed it on his left. "The little group you see here all left the cathedral to compare notes. We all agree that something is up about the situation and it's more then just a heartless attack, but we've got nothing but speculation to go on right now."

He finally took a longsword from the rack and simply held it across his shoulder, sheathed but ready to be used at a moments notice.

"The worst part of this is that, like Joe said, the King hasn't showed himself at all and he's the biggest mystery of all in this. We've got no idea who he is, where he got his support from, or why our relatives all showed up hear. Things just ain't adding up."

Finishing up, he began to walk towards the entrance as he finally responded to their fearless leader.

"Yeah, I'm good. I'd recommend everyone grab a secondary weapon if they can, though. Better safe then sorry."

[Nicholas :: Narnia :: Service Wing]

Playing guard dog once again. Last time this happened, Nicholas had gotten broken ribs for his trouble. Not that any of the others knew it was him when it had happened, though. As the Earthlings began appearing, he carefully stepped inside and sheathed his sword in the large sheath on his back. At least they weren't going to die immediately with this cache available. He picked up a sheathed knife, tying it around his thigh. His gaze shifted towards other parts of the 'armory', debating on what else to take.

"We're trapped with no magic, weapons of unknown condition, and enemies whose abilities we're unaware of, searching for a king we're not even sure actually exists." Nicholas sniffed, wiping his nose and pulling out a long black cloth from within his coat pocket. He wrapped it around his neck like a scarf, then pulled the cloth over his nose and mouth into a makeshift mask.

"This is going to be quite fun."

{Bobbi .:. Narnia .:. Service Wing}

Bobbi nodded to Melisandre and Nick when they arrived at the armory. Her mouth was set in a grim line, but a smile tugged at the corners when she saw the line up of bows. She tested a couple, trying to find one with a good draw that would also pack a punch. She was afraid that using a magical bow for so long would have made her arms weaker than when she’d started, but to her delight she actually managed to find a bow that worked for her, and it was a harder draw than any she’d ever used back home. Her grim expression eased, and a genuine, proud smile came out.

"Ha," she said, slinging a quiver full of arrows over her back. She let the Joes fill Nick and the Norn in on the happenings in the Cathedral as she turned her attention to finding a sword she could use. She wasn’t foolish enough to go without a secondary weapon—Joe2’s words to the same effect were simply preaching to the choir as far as Bobbi was concerned. She found a sword she liked, and strapped that to her left hip.

"We sure do know how to party, don’t we?" she quipped in response to Nick’s comment as she held up a dagger and tested the blade. Satisfied, she strapped that to her right hip.

[Dawn : Northeast Wing : Cathedral]

Dawn's eyes narrowed on Kyle as he spoke to her, before too long started to shoo everyone else out of the room.

"Kyle, I dunno what you are doing or thinking," she said as she picked up Krystal, "Just don't be thinking of anything stupid. We may not know what is going on, but just like everyone else here, you are just as much in danger."

Without another word she followed the others out of the room, towards the Grand Hall along with Jenny and Sayrike.

[Kyla: Narnia: Grand Hall> Northwest Wing> Service Wing]

“Hmmm, good point”, she agreed, but seeing him take off despite what Bobbi asked, Kyla ending up idled there a moment before deciding to do it herself. She turned around seeing Mathew, Josh, and Sayrike come out of the Cathedral.

“Oh- I was just about to say- Joe, er..Joe and Bobbi were called for by some people who apparently have taken over the wepaons room, the Norn probably being one of them. We’re heading in that direction now- oh, one sec-“ just then Dawn came out as well- menaing only Kyle was remaining wihtint- for now probably.
Kyla moved passed them and poked her head into the door way just calling into it- closing her eyes-

She didn’t need to see it again..

“Kyle! Both Joe's, Bobbi and I are headed to the weapons room, apparently more of our party are already there! We’ll be back with something for you guys ok? Or meet us there if you can in a bit.”

The artist turned around and nods to the group already outside of the room with her before heading off after where the mage slayer left.

On her way she stops, having taken everything as her usual habit and paused-

“-who am I?” She read the legible gold again, the riddle. Why hide a riddle in this place? This was kingdom hearts of course?! So was it important after all? Only one way to find out. Wasn’t part of this castle locked off for some reason? OH yeah, Mr. No show King right?...

“Hey… anyone know where more of these are???” Kyla began jotting this one down and sketching any other details that stuck out to her. At last- something to keep her mind really focused. Nothing was meaningless in a world like this. She reminded herself. Nothing.

"Dear Reader,

I know not who you might be, but if you're reading this I'm likely dead. In the latter hours this evening, I felt ill and decided to retreat to my quarters for a bit to recover and return to the festivities once I was well but now I fear that may never come to pass. This night was meant to mark my rule as a symbol of hope and happiness, where justice would be a tool to bring about truth, mercy, and reward... for true justice lies in bringing happiness to those who deserve it. As the night dragged on before our heroes arrived, I wondered if my choice was the best one. Was gathering everyone here truly a wise move? I wished to make a statement to the world and my people that I could protect them, that our nation was not helpless in the coming days and the people could rely on us to provide them with protection.

What a fool I was. Despite all my precautions, I fear my time is running out. I locked the door to the residency wing when I retired, but I can still feel a shadow lingering just outside my doorway. If my intuition is not in fact paranoia, it shouldn't be long now. I hear unfamiliar footsteps, someone's coming... to whoever reads this, please forgive me, this wasn't what I wanted. I've brought ruin upon a celebration of my own creation and I worry it will not be I, but you who suffer from my selfishness.

The riddle is the key-

Your King,
Raphael Alexander Yvon II"

The riddle again... interesting.

By the end of the letter, it was obvious writing was rushed, but the skill of the handwriting never faltered once. Though it appeared to cut off without punctuation at the end, only to be signed as though finished, it still had more to say. At the bottom of the scroll, written in a very different, crude handwriting and red ink were the words,

"Catch me if you can~"

[ Kyle : Narnia : Northeast Wing ~ Cathedral ]

Kyle rolled his eyes at Dawn's words. He'd literally just said that the Disney Earthlings weren't the targets of harm--not physically, anyway. Still, Dawn would be Dawn.
If they only knew.
As the remaining people left and Kyla shouted her message in, he remained silent, his gaze dancing between Daniel and the hostess. After a pause, he briefly exhaled from his nose before standing up.

"So, Daniel, you've been awfully quiet," he called, out, walking into the middle aisle, though not to turn toward either of them--simply to stand there. "Now that it's just the three of us, how about we get back to that game of questions? We never did get a chance to finish back in Atlantis."

"Oh, and do stay, my lady," Kyle said, swiftly turning his gaze toward the hostess, smiling politely. "It's such a neat game."
