Train laughed at her Pikachu as se watched it roll around on the ground with the rock. Then she looked up to see a Zubat on the ground a few yards away from them. When the bat saw Train had noticed it, it jumped back.
Pikachu ran in front of it's trainer, ready to battle. The Zubat attacked first, aborbing some of Pikachu's energy with a Leech Life attack. It flapped it's wings and rose into the air, where it hovered, waiting to see what it's opponenet would do.
"Pikachu, thundershock!" Pikachu jumped into the air and shot a bolt of lighting at Zubat. Pikachu landed on the ground as the Zubat was hit, but only partially, because it had dodged some of the attack. Pikachu growled, and it turned into a Growl attack, so Zubat's next attack-Astonish- didn't have as much of an effect. Pikachu struck the Zubat again, and it spiraled to the floor. Zubat hit the floor of the cavern so hard it knocked itself out.

Going up to Apollo he gave the pony and apologetic pet. "I am sorry to ask you of this, seeing as you have had a long night and all. But could you carry me and Meowth to Cerulean City? It is straight north of here. We will have to pass through Saffron. You know the big city we arrived in?" Just hearing this Apollo snorted and tossed his head his fiery mane sending up embers. Apparently the Ponyta thought that he could easily carry him. "Thanks boy." He said with a smile. Picking up Meowth he hopped up onto the Ponyta's back. "Now lets see just how fast you can go!" Was all he said as he held onto Apollo. The pony whinnied and turning to Route 6 the Ponyta took off becoming a blazing black and white streak in the lightening morning. It didn't take them long to reach the city limits. Soon the speedy Ponyta was galloping down the dirt path towards Saffron City. Passing by where they had tried to sleep during the night. Blazing past a few Bug Catchers who were up early scouring the grass looking for bug pokemon they made there way to the gate and the check point to get into Saffron.
Not even slowing down as he approached the building Apollo just turned slightly and after jumping over a few ledges he gathered his strength and jumped over the six foot fence. While they were air born Dante and Meowth gave each other a startled look. They had never known Apollo to run this fast before, nor had he ever jumped over a fence like that while they were on his back. Bracing themselves for the feeling of impact they were surprised at the smooth landing. As soon as Apollo's hooves touched the ground in a loud clack they were off again. Racing through the main streets of the city tail and mane burning brighter the faster and longer they ran. Despite the large size of the city, and a bit more things in there way then the routes Apollo made it though in a record ten minutes. Seeing the fence again Apollo leaped over it. Upon landing he took off up the even shorter Route 5.

Dramon roared in anger, then ordered his Poliwrath to use another Lock-On. It was this move alone that ensured everything would go the way he planned. A toothy grin, albiet a dark one, appeared behind his bushy beard.
Kilik looked over at Bugsy, then at the Heracross. Giving a quick look back to the Gym Leader, he focused back onto the battle. What else was there for him to do? He wasn't about to turn in run, that's for sure. Not in front of M.A. and the other trainer. Although, should he lose, public humiliation would be less severe now that the citizens of Azelea Town had retreated home. When he noticed the Grunt climbing up the rope, he growled. "Shoot! He got away!" Kilik slammed his fist into his open palm. There's no point in continuing this battle, then. Right? Dropping his hands to his sides and looking over at Dramon, he opened his mouth to speak.
"Don't bother," Dramon boomed, "You will finish what you began. Understand?" The large Rocket pointed a sausage of a finger at him, "I'll teach you to treat your superiors with respect."
"You're no more superior to me than you are to..." his brain clicked and a sly smirk appeared on his face, "Than you are to Giovanni." He crossed his arms over his chest.
"Then you compare yourself to our leader?!" he roared.
Kilik waved a finger warily at him. "No. Not our. Your leader. You keep whining that I left, so I figured you'd remember he's not my leader anymore." Slipping a hand into his pocket, Kilik looked over at M.A. and the other trainer.
"Sorry. This isn't a side of me I had wanted you to see," the smirk on his lips had faded and his eyes seemed distant before he turned his head back to the battle, where they began to burn with passion once more, "Now then, Flareon! Shake off the confusion and attack with Smog!" Flareon opened his mouth and released a purplish haze instead of a burning flame. This gas seeped into the pillar of fire.
Where Poliwrath took the damage and suddenly felt the effects. Dark lines appeared beneath his eyes, although this wasn't visible to the others. When the flames flickering around him had died, the Pokemon slammed his fists together. "Finish Flareon off! Dynamic Punch!" The Pokemon dashed forward, pulling his fist back and ready to strike down upon his fox opponent.

The dragon looked downward as Kingdra was lost in the Twister. It was nearly impossible to track where he was, due to the sheer speed that the winds were whipping at. At first, Krystal was able to watch him, but only for a moment. Soon, his body turned into nothing more than a blue blur, before mixing with the canvas of the Twister that consisted solely of dark grays. Soon, his color was lost entirely.
Krystal landed a good distance away from the Twister, over near Nina. Raimundo watched the Twister getting farther away, before he started to chase after it, realizing that Kingdra still hadn't come out of it. It was slowly dying down as he followed it; Nina looked to Krystal with an impressed expression on her face. "Holy crap, Krys," she said, "I didn't expect you to be able to pull something like that off! Will Kingdra be okay?" Krystal cooed happily, and nodded her head a bit.
He'll be fine once he gets out of that Twister, she thought to herself.
A short time later on, Raimundo returned to Nina, clutching a Pokeball in his hand. "I don't even think I need to tell you this," he said, "but... wow. You definitely beat me. When I found Kingdra, he was lying on the ground, knocked out." Nina grinned a little bit. "Really?" she asked. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to take it so far--"
Raimundo shook his head a little, smiling. "Hey, it's okay! Your Dragonair's a pretty talented Pokemon... And, she gets the 'pretty' part from you." He winked and flashed a smile of perfectly white teeth, while Nina nearly melted, her body almost taking on the shape and texture of that of a Muk. She was able to compose herself and return a smile however, and thanked him.
"So, uhm... We're done battling," Raimundo stated; "did you want me to leave? I mean, I'm sure that you've got really important stuff that you could be off doing." Nina looked a little shock at his remark. "Oh, no no!" she replied. "I was wondering actually... Uhm. If you weren't planning on doing anything, would you maybe want to travel with me for a bit?" Raimundo flashed a broad smile; "Ah, sure!" he replied, "That'd be great!"
Nina was beaming. "Cool! Um, what do you say we head off to the Pokemon Center, then? And, after that, there was a little shopping I had needed to do, if-if that's okay." She smiled when he said that it was, and followed him as they took off toward the Center.
He is so fracking gorgeous, she thought to herself, turning bright red.

Seeing a wide-open opportunity to attack, the Loudred dashed forward, bringing its large foot high in the air and bringing it down on the idle Geodude in a powerful Stomp attack. Tierra grunted - the attack had been less than effective, and she retaliated with a quick backhand, striking her attacker across the face with her ruddy arm. She narrowed her eyes and brought her fists together. "Duude!" she growled, warning the Loudred to back off.
"She's not listening to you, Keegan," Sheena observed, putting a finger to her chin and tilting her head slightly. "But at least she attacked it!"
"Thanks, I hadn't noticed," Keegan replied curtly, his annoyance growing by the second. "Come on, Tierra! Tackle attack!" the redhead bellowed, but once again the Geodude didn't respond, watching the Loudred carefully.
As impressive as Boris's Flamethrower had been, the Magneton wasn't down for the count yet, as it must have had several levels on the little Numel. Gabby shouted out an order, one which Keegan was to busy growling angrily to hear, and the tri-magnet rocketed forward, slamming its metallic body into Tierra, creating a ringing sound that reverberated throughout the area. A small chunk of rock had been knocked from the Geodude's body, and upon seeing this, Tierra's eyes narrowed even further, and she flung herself forward, bashing both fists into the Magneton and bringing it to the ground - she'd finally performed Rock Smash.
Having decided to leave the unresponsive Geodude alone for now, Loudred set its sights on Boris, and the Pokemon dashed off to the side, once again aiming for a Stomp. It brought its foot down with a crushing force, trapping Boris beneath the appendage and also causing him to flinch, rendering him unable to attack for the time being.

The Gym Leader decided it was time for his intervention. Kilik's pride would have to suffer, but he would have to get over it. The boy thrust his hand forward, Heracross flying forward at the two Pokemon. The beetle tucked its arms in, soaring towards the Flareon. Closing it's wing caps, the dual type landed, skidding directly in the path of the Dynamic Punch. Taking the hit for the fox, Heracross flinched in pain, as the large gloved fist of the other Pokemon caused a crackle in his carapace. Not wasting any time retaliating, hitting back with a super powered Counter attack, the Bug scraping Poliwrath with his left arm spikes, then connecting a punch square in its nose.
"Excellent!" Bugsy cheered as he saw the Water Pokemon fly backwards under the tremendous strain of the attack. He eyed the Rocket grasping onto the ladder. Hm. The boy thought, taking note of the low altitude he was at. "Heracross!" Bugsy's voice rose over the commotion of battle. "Do something about that ladder will ya?"
On que, the Bug Pokemon lifted off, flying straight for the Rocket. As he drew closer, the Heracross arced his head backwards, slicing forward with his elaborate horn. The spike easily sliced through the rope ladder, granting the Rocket a ten foot sky dive. Bugsy smirked, that'll teach em' to mess with his town.

"Oh no! Boris!" Sheena cried, her voice pained with worry. The Numel groaned under the weight of its opponent, trying desperately to get free. The order was issued for Loudred to attack once more, and the purple Pokemon swung its mighty fist downward, landing another solid blow to the Numel's body. "Boris! Do something!" Sheena wailed, flailing her arms so wildly that she caught Keegan in the side of the head.
"Hey! Watch it!" the angry redhead yelled as his Geodude pulled herself up, still eyeing the unconscious Magneton that she'd pummeled into submission. It was recalled thereafter, leaving only the Loudred to deal with.
Frantically, Boris spat out a wild ember, which missed Loudred completely and scattered over Tierra's body. While rather ineffective damage-wise, the wayward attack had succeeded in catching her attention. The Geodude spun around quickly, bashing her fists together and yelling out in rage.
"Tierra! Help Boris out!" Keegan hollered, rubbing the spot on his head where Sheena had accidentally hit him. Surprisingly enough, the riled Geodude obeyed, grabbing a rock from the ground and hurling it at the Big Voice Pokemon. Loudred had reared back to attack again, but this time wound up with a mouthful of solid stone. It grumbled and jumped back, finally freeing Boris.
"Take that annoying Pokemon out, Boris!" Sheena cheered, and Boris was happy to do just that as he blasted his opponent with another Flamethrower, proving to be too much for Loudred to handle. With a pained sigh, it slumped over before being returned.

Dramon growled in aggrivation, then watched the Grunt fall onto his Poliwrath. "Blasted...children...!!" he roared, nearly crushing the Pokeball in his hand as he recalled his Pokemon. The Grunt landed on his rear with a soft thump. "I'll teach you yet!" he mumbled, throwing one final Pokeball out.
Kilik shielded himself from the light and then looked over. He was staring down another larger than usual Pokemon. This time, it was a Skarmory at least a foot taller and many pounds heavier. Every scratch, cut, and canyon in the Steel-Pokemon's wings were noticeable. The boy knew for a fact there was no chance his Flareon, in its current condition, would be able to win, even with the type advantage. Recalling his fox, Kilik lifted his final ball. Strange this would come down to the Pokemon that they stole from me. With a flick of the wrist, the Park Ball flew and released, in a shower of shimmers and light, Kilik's Scizor.
Unlike her opponent, she lacked many cuts and scratches upon her metal plating. The insect knocked her two claws together and let out a soft grunt.. Kilik glanced at Bugsy.
"Ahh...so it seems your oddly colored Scyther finally evolved into an oddly colored Scizor!" Dramon laughed, "Giovanni will be happy to have it in his collection!" The punch he made to his open palm seemed to shake the earth, "Skarmory! Aerial Ace!"

"We did it! We won!" Sheena cheered, jumping up and down, her arms still waving in all directions. Keegan took a cautious step back to avoid being smacked again, but it was rather pointless as Sheena then jumped at him, flinging her arms around his neck and nearly bringing the both of them to the ground.
"Why do you keep touching me?! Get off!" Keegan growled, trying to pry her arms from him.
Apparently she didn't hear him, though, for she was too busy singing, "We won!" over and over again.
"A bit of a shaky start, but quite a strong finish," Gabby observed, her pen scratching on her notepad once more. "You two make quite the team!"
"And we're gonna be on TV!" Sheena giggled, turning and waving at the camera, which of course, was still rolling. Ty gave a thumbs-up, signaling that he'd captured quite a bit of quality footage.
"What? No!" Keegan found himself staring at the camera as well, and he nearly froze. The last thing he wanted was to be seen on TV with clingy Sheena hanging off of him, and with a final growl, he freed himself, shoving the excitable girl away. "Stay away from me!" he told her sharply, recalling Tierra, who'd decided to settle on the ground and curl up for a nap.
Sheena had now run over to her Numel, and was busy squeezing the daylights out of the poor thing as she congratulated it, finally recalling Boris and jumping back into the center of attention as Gabby cleared her throat. "So, do you two have any comments you'd like to share with our viewers?" she asked importantly, holding the microphone out in front of both of them.
"Teamwork!" Sheena nearly screeched at them, and once again she'd grabbed Keegan's arm and was holding onto him rather tightly. Keegan guessed that this girl's ability to cling to people was on par with Loki's Wrap attack. "That, and Keegan's a really good trainer!"
"Are you sure about that?" Gabby questioned, turning to the pink-haired girl. "His Geodude was rather disobedient during the battle."
"I just captured her like, an hour ago!" Keegan protested, but he was ignored, as now Gabby and Sheena were discussing problematic Pokemon. He rolled his eyes, and would have walked away just then, but Sheena seemed to have some sort of special ability that bolstered her strength when she wanted to hang onto someone. I really hope they don't put this on the air, Keegan thought dejectedly, wondering just how much more he could take before he snapped and possibly started killing things.

Train picked up her Pikachu happily. Once again, good job, Pikachu! Now, lets get out of this place!" Train finally manuvered her and Pikachu to the end of the cave, and she was grateful when they stepped out into the warm sunlight.
"Cerulean City, here we come!" Train pumped her fist in the air, her Pikachu copied her. Her and Pikachu ran down the path, and they saw Cerulean come up farther ahead. They rushed into the town, and Train skidded to a halt in front of the Pokemon Center. "C'mon, Pikachu!" Train said, and they walked inside.
Train gave Nurse Joy her Pikachu and Ratata's pokeball. She sat and waited until Nurse Joy came out and handed Train her pokemon back. "Thanks!" Then Train decided to just check out the city.

"Okay, I think that's about it," the ever-cheerful Gabby nodded, tucking away her notepad and pen. "Keep your eyes peeled, there's a chance you'll see yourselves on TV!"
"Oh goody," Keegan said, rolling his eyes. "I'm so outta here." He turned sharply then, pulling Sheena with him, who still refused to let him go.
"That was so much fun!" the girl gushed, bobbing up and down excitedly. "I hope we get on TV! That'll be so cool! Except that means..." she stopped walking, and released his arm.
Slightly alarmed by the sudden absence of Sheena's voice, Keegan stopped too, turning to look at her. "What's wrong?" he asked, hoping he would not regret asking her.
"Oh, nothing," the girl said quietly, forcing a small smile and continuing to walk again. "Let's keep going, shall we? Lavaridge Town awaits us!"
"If you say so," Keegan sighed, knowing perfectly well that "Oh nothing" meant "Yes, but I'm not going to tell you" in girl-speak.
The landscape before them started to shift rather noticeably as they walked, the lush grassy valley shifted to a rugged, barren wasteland of sorts, as sand seemed to blow in from the north. This meant they were nearing the desert, a place which Keegan didn't particularly feel like visiting at the moment, even though he had the Go-goggles in his possession now. A part of him wanted to put them on and go on ahead, deciding that if Sheena couldn't follow, then too bad for her.
The idea was abruptly shattered though as Sheena spoke up, her upbeat attitude already in full swing once more. "Ooh, are we going through the desert? I've got my own pair of goggles and everything!"
But of course, Keegan thought. "No, we'll avoid the desert for now." He studied her appearance, smiling a little at the cute schoolgirl uniform she wore. "You're... not dressed for it right now."

The two could see a few trainers milling about, some making preparations to venture into the desert; others seemingly have just come from it. Either way, most seemed to be too preoccupied to want to battle, something that Keegan was a little disappointed by. Not that he willingly wanted to jump into another double battle with the bubbly girl; it was just that more battles meant more experience. He'd really been psyched by his last win, and the thought of trying his luck against Flannery made him want to run all the way back to Lavaridge.
Mount Chimney now loomed over them, a sulfurous spire of smoke wafting from the top. Keegan looked up at the familiar volcano and smiled. He and Helios had prayed at the shrine his last visit there, and they hadn't been back except for when they'd retrieved the Torchic egg for Jaeshan. He frowned slightly; the tail end of that last visit had been less than pleasant. He was reminded then that he was supposed to make a call, but he really didn't want to, so long as Sheena was there. Knowing her, she'd talk the entire time and end up making things worse. Still staring up at Mount Chimney, the redhead sighed. I miss you, Kassie.
They approached a sort of stairwell carved into the mountain, which lead to a platform that housed the infamous cable car. Last time, he'd trekked up Jagged Pass to get to the top, but he had no intentions of doing so this time. Besides, riding down would be a lot simpler. "Are we taking that up?" Sheena asked, a hint of nervousness in her voice. When Keegan nodded, she grinned broadly. "Great!" she cheered, running ahead of him and looking up at the wire that would carry them to the top.
"The cable car is ready, would you two like to depart now?" the attendant asked. She was a dark-haired woman, but one almost wouldn't be able to tell. A thin blanket of ecru ashes coated the top of her head, thinning out as her hair spread out down her back.
"Yes, I think so," Keegan replied, but Sheena was already inside the car. "Where does she get that energy?" he asked himself as he followed; the attendant sliding the door closed. A few seconds later the car started to rumble, and they started moving, the pulley atop the car guiding it along the thick cable as it sloped up. "Now this is the way to climb a mountain," Keegan commented as the two watched out the window for the breathtaking scenery that they would soon feast their eyes upon.

The Hoenn landscape stretched out before them like a lavish painting. It was getting to be rather late in the afternoon now, and the sun had started to set, splashing everything visible to the west with an amazing amber glow. Behind them, they could see the vast expanse of desert, dotted with rather large protrusions of rock. The sandstorm that constantly waged through the arid lands seemed relatively calm at the moment, allowing them to see rather clearly for quite some distance. At one point, white ashes began to fall around them, giving the illusion that it was snowing. Keegan had seen these sights many times, but he felt a profound sense of contentment as he watched Sheena's reaction. Sure, one could describe at great length just what could be witnessed from here, but it would never come close to actually seeing it for oneself.
He recalled just then, as the cable car neared the top of Mount Chimney, the time he'd brought Helios up here for the first time. The Vulpix had still been very young; his tail consisting of only a small, white one at the time. The young Pokemon had gazed out upon the world with the same glint in his eyes that Sheena's held now, and he couldn't help but realize that even though she may have been an overbearing, pushy, annoying twig of a girl, but she was a good person, with a lot of potential.
They were both jostled forward as the cable car came to an abrupt stop, and the attendant at the top of the mountain, and older gentleman, sporting the same ash-ridden hair colour, opened the door for them, leaving them free to explore. "Don't get too close," he warned. "It's very hot."
"It's magma," Keegan smirked. "Of course it will be hot." He turned quickly, not waiting for a response as he led Sheena by the elbow. "If anything, we should visit the shrine," he told her.
"All right," Sheena giggled, latching onto him happily once more. Deciding not to fight it, Keegan merely led the way, not answering any of the many questions Sheena now spouted out, mostly about the volcano and if there was a chance it could erupt.

Casimir materialized on the battlefield a moment later, his silvery fur shining in the sun. His crimson eyes quickly sized up the situation and he let out an annoyed growl - why had he been called upon if there was no opponent to battle? A snort escaped the Absol as it turned to glare at its trainer, catching sight of the glimmering green Crobat hovering loftily above him. He took a step forward, wondering just how he'd take on a flying foe when the human across from them tossed two Pokeballs into the air. A malicious glimmer appeared in the Absol's eyes as an Arbok and a Golbat appeared before them.
"You're working with Fang, Casimir. Try to remember that," Kasiya told the Absol, who disregarded her with a shake of his head. "Fang! Air Cutter! Casimir! Razor Wind!" she directed suddenly, deciding to get this battle under way as soon as possible. She wondered where Mike could have got to, but it was quickly pushed from her mind as Fang launched a sharp gust of wind that branched off and struck both the Golbat and the Arbok. Casimir's attack was slower - it took time to generate. In the meantime, the Golbat had opened its mouth wide and was going after Fang, something the Crobat thought to be quite funny. Giving a quick flap of his four wings, Fang flew around happily; quite happy at the new game of 'tag' he'd started. The Arbok shot forward as well, opening its mouth wide and spraying a barrage of poisoned needles at Casimir, who did nothing to avoid them. The Absol merely scoffed, taking aim with his attack and letting it fly, and the Cobra Pokemon was struck by another fierce blast of wind and knocked back as its hooded body acted as a kite.

"It's so hot up here!" Sheena whined, fanning herself with her free hand. "How do these people stand it?" By people, she meant the few who were hanging around. There was the attendant, obviously, but also an older woman who was selling Lava Cookies. Sheena looked up at Keegan at the sight of the woman, and without her even asking him, Keegan rolled his eyes and they made their way over to her. "We'll take five," Keegan nodded, already fishing out his wallet. It was still rather light since his last TM-buying spree, but it didn't bother him as much when the kind woman gave them two freebies. He now had five Lava Cookies, placed carefully in a cardboard box, which he stuffed into his backpack, and the other two were being munched on as they continued to make their way to the shrine.
"Thank you, Keegan," Sheena said sweetly between bites of her cookie. "They're really crunchy, but they're really good!"
"I was addicted to these things as a kid," Keegan nodded, although it came out as a muffled blurb, crumbs spilling out onto the ground and down his shirt.
"Don't talk with your mouth full!" Sheena giggled, taking another nibble of hers. When the cookies were gone, and the telltale crumbs were brushed from their clothing, the pair finally arrived at the shrine. Almost instinctively, Sheena stood back, somehow knowing better than to interfere with any goings-on that took place here. Keegan, on the other hand, walked up to it, placing his right hand on a rugged, glimmering stone that sat atop the altar. He also released Helios, knowing that the fire type would be offended if he didn't get to pay his respects to the celebrated spirits who resided here.
When they were finished, Keegan turned back to Sheena, holding the Vulpix in his arms. Sheena's eyes lit up at the sight of the adorable fox, and she reached out to pet him. Keegan involuntarily pulled his trusty Pokemon back, thinking that Sheena would grab him and smother him with love and affection, but that wasn't the case. It seemed the girl had some restraint after all.
