Ami caught the scent of the other creature and her hackles raised beyond control. She whipped around, and glared at the fynx playing with the mouse in her immediate vicinity and hissed a low warning.
The strong scent of another animal was drawing her cat out, and she was on the verge of fighting him over that mouse.
Ami no...you must stop. Breath. Get control. Eat. Ignore him. Ohhhh but he'll know me....
Her thoughts raced as she struggled to get controle of her animal.

*Tenkyl hears a hiss and stops paying the mouse, keeping hold of it by it's tail. He looks over and spots Ami. His nose twitches a bit as he sniffs the air. He then wanders over to her, completely ignoring her companions*
You smell like cat...
*The mouse caught in his hand tries desperately to escape, squeaking and clawing at the floor*

Ami narrowed her yellow, glittering eyes at the thing in alarm.
"And? So what if I do?
She knew she'd been found out so she dropped her tail out from its uncomfortable position tucked underneath her dress, and twitched it nervously.

*He looks at the tail, then back at her. She has a tail... but nothing else resembling a cat at all. Tenkyl was very intrigued. The poor mouse still trying so hard to get away. Tenkyl's own tail flicks as he sniffs her again*
Nothing. You just don't look like a cat, so I was wondering why you smelled like one

Relaxed now, Ami sat back in her seat still starved. Puzzlement consumed her face as she offered an explanation.
"I've only a little cat in me...my father was a half cat...or at least my mother claims such. You smell...different...what exactly are you? I smell some cat in you...but that's not all.

I am a Fynx, half fox and half lynx. Basically, my mother was a vixen, my father was yiffy... end of story

Ami purred involuntarily, then caught herself. Cynical, was this animal, and amusing, but that didn't mean she felt comfortable with him. He smelled, safe, but her cat senses spent years and years supressed.
She smiled at him anyway.
"Well, mister Fynx, nice to meet you I suppose.

She chortled in delight as the fynx bowed to her, totally forgetting the quiet Silver for the moment.
I'm Amaranth, but call me Ami.
Her eyes darted back to her brooding companion across from her, and considered thanking him and bidding him good day. She really needed to find work in this city if she were to survive.

*Tenkyl would offer her the mouse had he not had any manners. One would expect him not to after he chased the mouse into the tavern, but he was in the middle of a chase. He wasn't exactly paying attention to his surroundings*

Ami nodded her thanks to Silver, who sat in his own distant little world across from her and timidly hopped down from the bench to leave. She made sure her staff was once again strapped to her back, and tried to arranger her hair and ears neatly under the bandana.
She glanced at Tenkyl playing with his mouse and smiled as she sauntered toward the exit, hoping to find the guild Silver mentioned.

The small neko stood between the group of 3 adults, blinking from one to the other as her tail swished about behind her. She rocked to and fro on the balls of her feet, hands held behind her back as she began to sway to and fro, not really paying attention to what the adults were saying. Well, not on the outside anyways.
Within the small girls subconscious Juunikyuu was watching and listening carefully, making note of what was said as she kept one weary eye on Mere.

Ami noticed Tenkyl following her and swished her tail a bit faster. She needed to find this guild that Silver had told her about, and soon or she was never going to survive. The thought made her lament never having met her father.
Tenkyl is there anything else I can help you with?
