That is wonderfully/horribly American, but I'm afraid we can't stop them. They look too popular, appeal to too many over-protective mothers and hardworking fathers. Maybe we could create our own, rival Family Association. It is the American way, no?

AFA is just another attempt to swade moderate voters towards the conservative agenda. By labelling their cause as "pro-family," they've effectively marketed their cause to the idiots of America as "if you don't vote our way, you're against families." It's like most any political advocacy group, but even more ridiculous. Grrrr...

It's funny how the Repulican party is the party of the wealthy and the stupid.

I think it's funny how the wealthy are stupid. Mostly.

The Republican Party just knows how to play the Word Game better than the Democrats. As Bill Maher brought up, they changed the name of the Estate Tax to the Death Tax, and was brought down immidiately after.

If we can get some highly intelligent Democrats there might be a chance for them to steal the 'Word Game' away.... But that's just hopeful thinking.

This is irrelevant to the political discussion, but...

Merry Christmas, Life Issues.

Or to be politically correct: happy holidays.

I actually find 'happy holidays' to be somewhat offensive, as I celebrate NO holidays between November and February minus my mother's birthday. So I propose you just wish everyone well.

Good health, everyone. Live forever!

Well you still get time off school right? Even if it's not to celebrate something I would say that qualifies as a holiday.

Democrats often do get the blunt end of the stick for *gasp* not playing the word game. I think it quite funny/interesting to look at the politicians (state and national) who are brought down because of corruption and lies...most of them are Republicans. Sure, there are a few sour Democrats, but for the most part, it's the Republicans who swindle our country and eventually get caught.

Am I a leftist? Nah, just intelligent.

In the complete act of being comical I like the Colbert's view on it: "Jesusmas."

Well exactly. They cover up their policy to make it look like: "If you don't support us, you might as well just say ******** you to your kid." These kind of organization just post modern propoganda; both sides of the playing field. However, I don't like religion and I don't think it should be in government therefore I have no problem attacking this association.

Well, naturally, the republicans represent a republic of stupid so it would only make sense why they've had so much wealth and can be so stupid.

In all seriousness though, I don't think it's necessarily that they're stupid. I just think it's all they know, what they were born to know, what they were always told, and the belief in phenomena.

Look, ok. I know I might always seem biased but most of the time it's just to be funny or because I hold a strong opinion in a rant bu really I'm not all that biased (maybe I am dun dun dun). It just amazes me that Iraq can get it together and we can't. In an article written December 16, 2005 an Iraqi said, "... Religion is important but religion is for God. The government is for the people." How can they get their s**t together in what seems to be the worst off country in the world but we as a supreme country still can't get that ideal down?

Hell, the ideal should be going away from it and we're going more towards it. Churches are getting way more political than they should be and I don't know how they do that and get away with it.

Oh well. It's not like this is going to change anything.

I am so tired of all the threads in the GD complaining about Christmas. It's a ******** holiday. Who cares if Christians celebrate it as a birthday? Is it going to have some adverse effect on your life if someone has their own way of celebrating, which just happens to be different from yours? Does it really matter if it gets marketed if people still enjoy it? I am not religious, but I celebrate Christmas in my own way, and people can do whatever makes them happy when they celebrate too.

People need to grow up.

Ok, I am done ranting now. Sorry about that.

I celebrate xmas my own way too. I visit the inlaws, drink their booze, hopefully get drunk and pray that I don't have to drive home. Good times.
