fedha opened his eyes. the area was the same. nothing had changed. nothing. he sighed his ears bent back as he fell to his stomache. quite tired for no reason, and fell into a slight slumber, keeping an ear out for danger.

A tiny innocent little sparrow hopped on to the ground hopping in little circles Pecked a crumb and fluttered to the tree where she had a better view of the lions from aboce. A tiny little squeak came out of nowhere and the sparrow couldnt help herself. It was the hiccups xp

"Well then, we can hunt! But there are no preybeasts here. They are cloer to the forest, where they can eat more leaves, I guess. The pride-cat - my pride-cat - said that her family owned the place, but I have not smelt any,so the hunting should not be stolen." She dipped her head in the running water a last time, shaking her head with its reddish crest, and smiled. "Southwards then, Kimbio?" She grinned. "Kimbio? Hastily? Your speed will work with you then, in a hunt..."

"Southward it is," Kimbio replied cheerfully, "to forest and food, then onward wherever we may go." He fell momentarily silent with her final statement, slowly rising to his feet. Quite unexpectedly, he sidestepped and jumped into the current, dissappearing beneath the water for a mere second before braking surface and climbing back onto the shore. Grinning faintly, he shakes off the majority of the water, fur sticking up at odd angles. "Speed is not all that is needed, I fear. Though it does help... Laio," he paused, peering curiously at her. "Does it have a meaning? Purely out of curiosity... I don't believe I'm familiar with it. 'Tis a lovely name."

Laio blinked as the other immersed himself in the water. Eeyh.. she could never do that. Water is good to drink, but not to drown in! SHe shook herself slightly, unconsciously echoing his gesture, and took a little hop-step forward. "Thankyou for the compliment," she smiled faintly as the pair set off. "My name.. I do not know what it means. I am the only feline I have ever met whose name has no meaning.... perhaps it is a language unknown to me. But I care not. Shall we procede?" She tossed her reddish head back boldly as they began to trek onwards.

Kimbio had a love for water, mainly due to the fact that is had always been so hard to come by for him. Many of the desert oaisises were guarded by the Firekin, and it was nerely impossible to get past... He'd managed to find an uninhabited one, however, and lived near there up until his recent travels. There was a slight bounce to his steps as he moved, as if a constant song was flowing through his head. He grinned. "You're quite welcome, and...that is a bit odd. In a good way, though. Adds a hint of mystery... Aye, on we go!"

Laio grinned and broke into a lope, deciding that she felt like running. That was always the disadvantage of the forest regions; no plains to run on. She was not running flat out, as that would use too much valuable energy, but a comfortable ground-eating lope that stertched out across the plains. She did not notice the little birds fluttering high above, but instead concentrated on the parched savannah around, head turning slightly to see if her erstwhile companion was following.

Kimbio's ears twitched towards the little sparrow, eyes following a moment later... but then he realized Laio was running, and completely lost interest, effortlessly breaking into a sprint to catch up. Once he reached her side, he slowed to match her speed, fur quickly drying in the wind from their run. His strides soon lapsed into a series of leaps and bounds, playfully darting among the grass with the energy only a cub can find, humming absently to himself.

Laio suddenly pattered to a halt, laughing out loud. "Y'know, this is weird. Normally I'm always worrying, what to do, where to go next. But I keep forgetting to have fun...." She adopted as best as she could, the stern tones of her mother. " 'You must conserve your energy for the hunt, living on your own.' " She reverted to her normal voice with a grin. "And then there was all the palaver with the tree-cats... it is nice, just to run sometimes." She tilted her head, padding forward to catch up with Kimbio. "Don't you think?"

Kimbio halted almost immediately after she did, whirling around to face her, confused by his friend's sudden stop. A grin of understanding flashed across his face when she spoke, extending to a soft chuckle as she immitated her mother. "Aye, it's true. I don't like worrying, an' that's probably my downfall. If I were a bit more serious, I'd probably be a much better hunter, and would have better luck surviving in the desert... As it is, I can't help but turn everything into a game. Maybe it's cause I never knew my mum, so I haven't had the same influence as you." He didn't seem remotely upset to the absence of a parent. He'd never known her that he could remember, so she obviously wasn't that important...right?

Laio's eyes took on a worried look as she padded onwards. "You never knew your mother? How so? Did your siblings teach you to hunt? Your coalition? How did you survive?" She suddenly checked her ramblings and looked at the ground. Man, how nosy was she? She silently berated herself for being so garrulous and pawed slightly at the massive print in the dusty earth that presented itself to her, not actually noticing what she was looking at.

"Never knew her," Kimbio repeated, shrugging slightly. "She either died or abandoned me not long after I was born. I'm honestly not sure. I can't even remember what she looked like." He paused and glanced sideways to her, chuckling softly and leaning over to playfully nuzzle her shoulder. "I don't mind you asking, don't worry. If I had any siblings, they're wherever my mother is, and we were never part of a coalition. I tought myself to hunt, which explains why I'm not very good at it. Hid at an oasis 'til I was old enough to really travel. Captured dune lizards for food..." Again he shrugged, returning his eyes forward. "It's not as bad as it sounds. I'm alive, and healthy, and happy, so why should I worry? It-" He abruptly fell silent, staring in awe at the print in the earth, taking a small step away from it. "What species...? Can you tell..?"

::He gave the girl a silent gaze before standing up, stretching a little more.. gosh.. He felt so sore... All that running and swimming had done him in the other day.::

::Finally feeling comfortable, he turned around, skittering over to the one known as Ciyari. He lightly nudged her side once with a paw, then once more..:: "Hey.... Hey... Get up..." ::He repeated himself four times before scooting back a little.::

"Don't wanna wake up. I'm a Queen, s'not nice to wake the Queen up like that," Comes the mumbled reply. My, but she's grumpy in the mornings. But the effort to think and then say that small string of things has got her mind working...and going back to sleep, now that she realizes how loud the birds are singing, is an impossibility. She sighs, opens one eye, and props herself up onto her haunches.

Her muzzle splits into a huge yawn, pink tongue showing for the briefest of moments. Blink, blink. Stretch. Alright, she's ready for the day, now. She then suddenly seems to note the presense of Hodari - and she allows him a grin. "Wanna go see the caverns now, Squire Hodari?" She querries, grandly.
